April 18, 201213 yr LOL poll and story Did Rose kill Jack by not sharing raft in 'Titanic'? Their hearts went on. But would life have been different if Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio) had just gotten on the raft with Rose DeWitt (Kate Winslet) at the end of 1997's "Titanic"?Some folks with extra time on their handsInternet scholars over at Reddit have been doing the calculations, and while photographic experimental evidence appears to say yes, physics calculations say no way. For those with fuzzy memories: At the end of "Titanic," the ship goes down (spoiler!), Rose and Jack end up in the water, and she takes refuge on a pine plank from the ship's Grand Staircase. Jack dangles from the side and they both pass out. When Rose wakes, Jack has frozen to death, half-in and half-out of the water. She is rescued and goes on to live a long, long time. But couldn't they both have fit on that big plank? Fans say yes, and offer up photos of a taped-off section of floor representing the raft, which makes it clear that two grown adults could have fit in the physical space of the plank. Follow @ msnbc_ent But as Reddit poster Khromatic noted (along with mathematical/physics calculations), they'd both have sunk. He/she wrote: "As force of gravity is larger than that of buoyancy, Leo and Kate will be swimming with the fishes." The fate of Rose and Jack has has been well-discussed on the web. Even if there wasn't room on the plank, did an earlier decision by Rose doom Jack? Askville over on Amazon.com dealt with this one a few years go, when submitter Layyla said her son had a theory about the film: "If Rose had stayed on the lifeboat she would have been safe and Jack would then have been able to worry only about himself. Jack is a survivor and he would have made it." Would he? Nobody knows, but those who read the post decided this explanation from 67alecto was best: "I still see him going down with the ship as opposed to getting on a lifeboat -- he still would have let (women) and children go first. But, having gone down and not needing to worry about Rose, I think he’d have had a greater chance of surviving. He (put) her above himself, both literally and figuratively, as she floated out of the freezing water.... I’d give him 75% odds of surviving had he been just looking out for himself." But it would have made for a very different movie. What do you think are the big unanswered questions about "Titanic"? And on the link you can vote about the ending http://entertainment.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2...raft-in-titanic
April 18, 201213 yr ox: wow, I hope that tweet is legit. 7 minutes, I really want to see this.oh and I forgot to say a welcome for you Lukas-Love3r.
April 18, 201213 yr lol thanks Kat for the article! But Jack did try to get on the raft with her but the weight of them combined was too heavy for the raft to stay afloat..... though I guess they could have taken turns on the door but Jack seems too much of a gentleman for that haha and hey maybe they would have both died from the cold that way... Though good point about if Rose had stayed on the lifeboat then Jack might have survived.... he could have used the raft all for himself then. Though how was Rose, a woman madly in love, suppossed to know that. Boy this is a touchy subject haha and sure the sinking of the Titanic is a true event but Jack and Rose's specific adventures are not

I'd pick the third option Thanks Ox by the tweet, Kat by the article and Barbie for the comment... Welcome Lukas-Love3r .
April 18, 201213 yr Haha i like the fourth option (if it allowed for the two of them to actually stay on the float) With that way they'd get some extra warmth. Especially Jack who didn't have the luxury of having a life vest and multiple layers of clothes
April 18, 201213 yr ^^ One of the thousand Leo-movie discussions I've had Did Rose have Jack's child? Was Inception real? Was Teddy cured or not? etc. etc. etc. IIT-Madras in talks with Leonardo DiCaprio & Christopher Nolan to train "inceptors", no more nightmares for IITM women! Following their new rule of employing male escorts compulsorily for all women on campus beyond 11 pm, one of the nation's finest engineering institutions, IIT-Madras has now gone a step ahead in the same direction. This time, the institute's administration will see to it that all women on campus do not get bad dreams at night, by employing "inceptors". Wasting no further time in trying to enforce their rule, director Bhaskar Ramamurthi said - "I will be holding a high-level meeting with Leonardo DiCaprio and Christopher Nolan soon, to discuss the idea. Some highly experienced professors from the psychology department will also be joining me. I'm hoping that this extraordinary idea of mine, too, materializes well. We, at IIT-M, give utmost priority to the safety and well-being of women. So far, we have taken care to see that there is no physical danger for women at nights, by employing wonderful escorts. The next step is to see that there is no mental danger. A lot of women get very bad dreams & thoughts in which they are subject to negativity. In order to see that this doesn't happen, we propose to have what I fondly call as 'inceptors', who would sleep near the girls whenever they want to sleep; seamlessly enter their dreams and see to it that the dreams are bereft of negativity". "I'm hoping that DiCaprio and Nolan accept my magnificent idea and agree to train student volunteers to be inceptors, masters at the art of inception. As a trial run, inceptors will operate only at night. If things go well, we will ask the inceptors to block all negative thoughts in girls' minds, during daytime as well. This way, women will not have to worry about anything at all", said a smiling Ramamurthi. When asked about what a girl would do, if the inceptor himself were to be the cause of her nightmare, the director said - "Simple. The girl just has to wake up, whistle out to another inceptor, who will enter the same dream and fight her inceptor", comprehensively proving that it is not for no reason that the greatest of human minds are developed in IITs. Unconfirmed reports suggest that Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan will soon be visiting the campus, in order to promote cellular network Idea's new 3G plans, with exciting features for internet usage at night. However, this has not gone down well with the authorities, who are now considering imposing a ban on smartphones as well. "It is the students who have to be smart, not their phones!", a faculty member was heard saying.
April 18, 201213 yr As Leonardo Dicaprio Fan of about 15 years now, I can't find enough words to thank you all, who spare their free time to update me and other fans on his career! I just really, really enjoy this blog, cause it always has the best updates and pics! April 18, 201213 yr PS: I am a huge Lukas Haas fan as well, any suggestions where I can find out more about him? I think he is really talented and a pretty good musician!Proletinchen I'd say his mobli account ... myspace was a good place to catch up on his music but i see he doesn't use it anymore.http://www.mobli.com/lukashaasand he has his own Bellazon thread here http://www.bellazon.com/main/index.php?sho...17626&st=20In regards to the "inceptors" article. That must be a joke.... particularily because they mention getting leo and Nolan to take part. I mean come on leo is just an actor lol
April 18, 201213 yr No words... Phew!!! Great gif Pami. I like how Leo has a little smile on his face just before he begins kissing Kate I know Kate and Leo say that they are like brother and sister and I know that the Revolutionary Road scene is short (Sam probably did n't want to linger over the filming of it for too long given that it was his wife at the time lol). However, I saw an interview that Kate did with Jay Leno when promoting Rev Road and Jay asked Kate what it was like filming the kitchen scene. Kate said: "Leo and I were in the room just getting ready to do the scene and Sam would shout directions from the other room (laugh) like "Grab her thigh" ... "No. Take her face in your hands. But let me tell you, LEO KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT HE'S DOING SO IT WAS PRETTY OKAY." I'm sure it was Kate

Rose not making room for Jack on the raft has long been an issue for debate. I think that he was always going to die because Jack is meant to represent all the young working class men on the ship who were much less likely to survive the tragedy. I think it was felt that Jack's selfless sacrifice for Rose made the film more romantic. I don't know about you but I would have been fine with Jack and Rose surviving and making lots of babies I would n't have minded seeing the fourth option.
April 18, 201213 yr Thanks girls for all the news Hi proletinchen Like you I'm also fan of Lukas So far I'm not aware about a forum of Lukas. I think he has his own thread here in bellazon but nobody writtes much. Also in yuku there is a suject about Leo's friends. However he have his page Mobli in which he keeps us well informed of his steps (and sometimes Leo's)

James Cameron really knows how to pull at your heartstrings
April 18, 201213 yr Tarantino chooses the poster Django Unchained on Facebook: is an Italian Apparently, the network can still change your life. You get in touch with your idols, you work with them. And 'what happened to a chart of 36 years in Rome, Federico Mancosu. His great passion: the films of Quentin Tarantino. One day, Mancosu Law on the Web that Tarantino is working on a Western. So, for fun, begins to tear down the hypothetical movie poster. In particular, it is a spaghetti western style, for which they also invented a title: Django Unchained. Well, what happened is that Tarantino has chosen that title for his film, and that theme graphic for the backing material (such as vouchers to the experts, for example). The credit belongs to a mutual friend, and between Mancosu Tarantino, that Luca Rea, who had met the director at the Venice Film Festival in Venice in 2004 and remained in contact with him. The work Mancosu posted on the Facebook Wall and took everything the next day, he was contacted by the film production involved the use for promotional purposes. April 18, 201213 yr The two Argentines who have acted in Titanic tell secrets of filming"Wake up. You are in the day," said his sister. Juan Ignacio Brown looked at the picture and his face perfectly distinguishable in a crowd desperate. The image accompanied a note anticipating the release of Titanic and he only extra in the winning film from James Cameron, became a person sought by all means. "I even invited his program Mirtha Legrand", has still surprised, though the adventure behind that photo is even more incredible. Dusk in Rosarito, Mexico. A long day of surf and sun on the Pacific coast of Central America left them little energy to go through a bar before returning home. Juan Ignacio and his lifelong friend, Luis incisa, were living in San Diego, arriving there at 23 and eager to take the world ahead. They were to learn English and make a specialization in international business, but plans changed dramatically after a few beers shared with a group of Mexicans in that bar. "They told us that he was filming the movie Titanic there, and they were tested on an audition to be extras. A certain Jesus insisted that we join," have so many details that do not appear to have been 15 years. Excited about the idea of ??meeting a movie set and, above all, after hearing that the ship was assembled by Cameron "awesome", came to find guards. "We're actors," Luis said, jokingly. "Who comes to see?" They asked. "Jesus". "Jesus Guerero?" Inquired the security. "Yes," replied the Argentines, "just in case." "Incredibly, who was in charge of casting for extras was called Jesus, as our friend." Twenty-four hours later, Luis and Juan Ignacio sailors were dressed in recording one of the many shots that one day became the Titanic. What started as a prank became his job and his life for five months. They left the English course and postponed the start of classes in college. No matter, the experience was worth it. "Once you're there, you enter an extra circuit. Invite you to begin work on other films and there are some who spend traveling. Seek the opportunity to jump to fame. Some scavenge writing the scripts," says Louis. Neither he nor his friend, both from San Pedro (Buenos Aires), were interested in the world of acting. Remember the Titanic experience with great nostalgia for the friendship: "We met great people who never saw. At that time there were no phones or Facebook." Signed a $ 160 per day of shooting. "Sometimes we were up in the morning, others a little while. We paid overtime, the hotel and all the food," says Juan Ignacio. Each received a number: 1998 and 1999. "We were third class passengers, sailors, we went into the lifeboats, we drown, we sink. We were everywhere," says Luis, fun. Every day was a new adventure, and had no idea of ??what the script. They say that when they saw the movie did not pay much attention to the plot, because trying to remember the backstage of the scene and identify his friends: "In the most dramatic, when the ship is sinking, we had a great time. We makeover frozen to look pale and had no problems diving into the water. " Now, have the opportunity to meet again on the big screen: Titanic rerun last week, in 3D. "Maybe now we see consciousness" promise. They knew it would be considered the most expensive film in history. However, still stunned by the mega production that were part: "The catering was awesome. You could ask for anything. In addition, inside the boat, which was like a building with floors and elevators, there were kiosks where you asked from instant soups to all kinds of goodies. " At night, people from Titanic goes to Rosarito bars, and all shared the fun, regardless of hierarchies: "We went out together, including some major players such as Billy Zane [Cal, Rose's fiance, Kate's character Winslet], were added. " The memories come pouring out of his memoirs. It was long, but can not help but smile every time tell the story. Lots of photos that they took without permission, their contracts signed by Jesus Guerrero, close friends maybe someday return to see and film, are treasures that these friends will share forever. The stars, close James Cameron: "BAD. If it were not so mad would not be so genius ." "If he saw an extra in the background of a scene that I shouldn't be, he grabbed of his shirt and pulled out himself." "He had studied the Titanic story to perfection." "He painted all black machines, so that no reflection could disturb the filming." "When he heard we were Argentines, thanked us for being there." Leonardo DiCaprio: "He did not looked like a star. It was like one more." "he made jokes all the time and asked us cigarettes." Kate Winslet: "She tolerated the wait like all of us. Sometimes hours between takes." "Very nice and humble." Billy Zane: "It was great. Very funny, always joking, making us laugh."
April 18, 201213 yr This site predicts both Django and Gatsby... way too early. Frankly i'm not even going to think about the possibility right now due to prior experiences..2) Django Unchained – December 25Quentin Tarantino is so adored by the critics that there was a moment in 2009 when I actually thought Inglourious Basterds had a chance to spoil the evening for The Hurt Locker and Avatar. No doubt the critics will line up again in support of Tarantino’s next film about a freed slave in the American South who becomes a bounty hunter. The film has to rely on being more like Basterds than Kill Bill in order to get appreciated by the Academy, but I have a feeling that Tarantino’s writing skills and magnificent craftsmanship will earn him a few more Oscar nominations.10) The Great Gatsby – December 25It will be difficult to breathe new life into this story that we all read in high school English class and has been already turned into a film numerous times before. However, if anybody can pull it off, it’s Baz Luhrmann, the eclectic director behind Moulin Rouge and Australia. The set photos look magnificent and the brilliantly talented cast of established actors, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, and Tobey Maguire, should work well with Lurhmann to give a new voice to these characters we know so well. There are 10 more films I have listed as alternates and predictions for Best Director on the Oscar Predictions page. Stay tuned for predictions for Best Actor and Actress coming to Oscar Tracker next week.http://www.filmmisery.com/2012/04/oscar-tr...dictions/12599/
