Leonardo DiCaprio delivers a stunning performance as controversial FBI founder J. Edgar Hoover in the new Clint Eastwood-directed drama J. Edgar, and Oscar-winning producer Brian Grazer tells ET's Nancy O'Dell that the public figure became "diabolical."

"I'm particularly fascinated with characters like J. Edgar," says Grazer. "He's someone that began as someone with pure, patriotic intentions, and once he gained the tremendous power that he had, he became diabolical."

In theaters everywhere November 11, J. Edgar chronicles the head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's rise as the most powerful man in America for close to 50 years, often bending the rules to keep his countrymen safe through the administrations of eight presidents. A man who put great value on secrets, Hoover had some incredibly startling secrets of his own, from his mother to his lover.

The film also stars Naomi Watts as Helen Gandy, Hoover's longtime secretary; Armie Hammer as Hoover's closest colleague Clyde Tolson; Josh Lucas as the legendary aviator Charles Lindbergh; and Judi Dench as Hoover's over-protective mother, Annie Hoover.

Eastwood has his golden boy, and so does Grazer. Can Leo's performance in J. Edgar finally win him the coveted Academy Award?

"He's so deserving of one, it's unbelievable, really," says Grazer. "I think we all hope people are attentive to his performance, and see what kind of sacrifices he made in order to do this role, and if he were to get nominated, I'm sure everybody would be just grateful for that

Stevie Wonder played at The Star last night. You probably didn't see him because you're not rich or famous.

The official relaunch of Sydney's perennially unloved casino saw the stars turn out in force for the Motown legend. He was introduced by Leonardo DiCaprio as his "favourite artist of all time," and watched by a A-list crowd which included Elle Macpherson, Tobey Maguire, Sacha Baron Cohen and Adrien Grenie

Ok, so Leonardo DiCaprio didn't walk the red carpet, but there was still a strong celebrity contingent on hand at the grand opening party for the relaunch of the Star Casino in Sydney last night. The A-list attendees adhered to a slick, modern and sexy dress code (was that on the invite?), with best-on-ground going to Erika Heynatz in her sleek zippered dress. Honourable mentions were deserved by April Rose Pengilly who stood out in cobalt and Kate Ritchie who stuck to her ladylike style in a prim LBD. Jennifer Hawkins got her pins out, whilst Mimi Macpherson tried out a chic ankle-cropped trouser for the red rug. Did your invitation go missing in the mail? Never fear! Step inside to feel like you were there!

I don't know but for some reason Leo sounds different in this video and his demeanor just seems a bit different... more loose perhaps? There is talk of costs already running over-budget on the set of Baz Luhrmann'sThe Great Gatsby due to long-running shoots.

Maybe the bean counters should look at where the big name stars are residing when it comes to cost-cutting measures.

Leonardo DiCaprio is rumoured to have moved out of his Vaucluse pad into The Star but still has the use of the eastern suburbs pile (rented for $10,000 a week) where he was seen squiring a young actress on the weekend.

Meanwhile flame-haired actress Isla Fisher and her publicity-shy hubby Sacha Baron Cohen are definitely not slumming it while here for her role in the film.

The young family, with their children Olive, 3, and Elula, 1, are nestled in a harbour-front mansion in Darling Point, which is rumoured to be costing $30,000 a month, during their stay.

Cooking fans will remember the villa as the house used for Ten's MasterChef contestants.

The five-bedroom, seven-bathroom manor, which has a cinema and ocean-view swimming pool, is owned by Russian-born property wheeler-dealer, Eduard Litver, and his wife, Adriana

The Great Gatsby - now with added Nike

BAZ Lurhmann turned Romeo and Juliet into a gang war on Venice Beach and added Nirvana and Massive Attack to the Moulin Rouge. Now he's brought Nikes to The Great Gatsby.

The first pics of Lurhmann's adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel of greed and love in 1920s New York show Tobey Maguire in full period costume.

But the three-piece suit, straw boater and bow tie are ruined somewhat by the pair of black Nike trainers on his feet.

Lurhmann has recreated the slums of New York in Sydney's inner-west.

Cast and crew worked through the rain on an elaborate set built on the grounds of an abandoned power station, which has been recreated to resemble a barren wasteland on the fringes of New York.

The backdrop - realised through the sketches of production designer Catherine Martin, the wife of director Baz Luhrmann - has come out of the film's $88 million production budget.

It's a setting Fitzgerald called the Valley of the Ashes, "a fantastic farm where ashes grow like wheat into ridges and hills and grotesque gardens".

The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as the enigmatic Jay Gatsby and Carey Mulligan as his lost love Daisy Buchanan. Maguire plays Gatsby's friend, Nick Carraway.

About the first one.. kinda hard to trust these sites they seem to perpetually try to insinuate things.. it just seems like a good way to get into talk about Isla snd Leo's digs. But atleast this is something that actually seems plausible.

In regards to Tobey maybe he was just wearing the Nike's to get from point A to B it's not like they were filming in those pics, but knowing Baz I can totally see him having the cast wearing Nike's.

I want Baz to spice up Gatsby .. make it his own. Though with that said I don't want him to go toooo overboard.

I'm really anticipating seeing the final result of this film

Australia's Next Top Model winner Montana Cox told Hughesy & Kate she'll always be a Melbourne girl but couldn't hide her excitement at possibly meeting her "favourite" actor Leo DiCaprio in Sydney.

Hughesy and Kate warned her off him but we don't think it was getting through to the single Year 12 student.

She heads off to New York very soon to start her career with a meeting with agency Next.

It can now been revealed The Great Gatsby star's latest drop-dead gorgeous friend is one of Italy's hottest underwear models - a woman considered in that country to be one of the most beautiful in the world.

The Daily Telegraph exclusively snapped Romanian-born Madalina Ghenea hanging out and paddleboarding at the actor's Vaucluse digs.

It wasn't just Sydneysiders wanting to know a bit more, the Romanian press was in a lather after it discovered her partying with one of the world's most bankable movie stars.The model and actress is a star in her adopted home of Italy, where she was once the girlfriend of uber-pop star Eros Ramazzotti, who has sold more than 11 million albums.

DiCaprio has just split from American actress Blake Lively, and has entertained locals Alyce Crawford, 21, and Kendal Schuler, 20. But times change and so it seems does the actor's taste in company.

Local stylists noted Ghenea's two-coloured swimwear was much more Bucharest than Bondi.

DiCaprio's house guest showed off her toned body before going paddling on Monday, but she wasn't seen when he introduced Stevie Wonder at the opening of Star casino on Tuesday night.

All I could think is; Ew, Isn't Eros Ramazzotti, like 50?
