Another Appian Way project

Nolan, Bay and Cuaron Top the List for Twilight Zone?

Variety is reporting that Warner Bros. Pictures is looking at Christopher Nolan (Batman films), Michael Bay ("Transformers" films) and Alfonso Cauron (Children of Men and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban) as the top director candidates for the new The Twilight Zone feature.

While the 1983 version had four directors helming separate segment (Steven Spielberg, John Landis, Joe Dante and George Miller), the new movie is expected to feature a single storyline with one director, says the site. It is expected to touch on several themes from the Rod Sterling TV series that ran from 1959-1964.

Nolan is reportedly the frontrunner out of the three, though it is not clear whether he will take on the project.

They also add that Rise of the Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt is in the mix as well.

Leonardo DiCaprio will produce through his Appian Way, along with Jennifer Killoran Davisson and George DiCaprio. Rand Ravich and Jason Rothenberg wrote the script.

Kurt Russell replaces Kevin Costner in Django

Think they made an error in article, it should be the South not West :)

Quentin Tarantino may have already lined up another grizzled veteran -- Kurt Russell -- to fill the slot vacated by Kevin Costner in Django Unchained, TheWrap has learned.

The Weinstein Co., which is distributing the film domestically, confirmed that Russell is in talks to play Ace Woody, the villain. Costner dropped out of the role because of an apparent scheduling conflict.

Django set in the 19th century West, stars Christoph Waltz, Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L. Jackson. Russell would take over as a henchman for DiCaprio's character, Calvin Candie, who owns a plantation where slaves are forced to battle to the death.

Waltz plays a bounty hunter who buys and then frees a slave, played by Foxx. Once a friendship blossoms, Waltz's character then helps Django try to rescue his wife.

Russell and Tarantino have worked together before, on 2007's "Death Proof," in which he played an over-the-hill Hollywood stunt double named "Stuntman" Mike.

Sony is distributing the film internationally.

Article about how the various groups in Sydney compete to get the best celeb to their race day event

I will just post the part of article that mentions Leo and post link for entire article below

The competition for A-list names for the other three days of the Flemington carnival - Derby Day, the Melbourne Cup and Stakes day - remains intense. In particular, Lavazza, Emirates, Lexus, Myer and Mumm are vying for Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio, who is filming in Sydney and will still be in Australia on Cup day.

Lavazza importer John Valmorbida is believed to have been plotting to snare the Hollywood heart-throb since last year and insiders suggest his bounty could be as high as $250,000. That might seem extravagant in the midst of the second global economic slump in two years. But the Victoria Racing Club says sponsors' confidence is as high as it was before the GFC in 2009.

Kat

Thanks for twitter sighting :)

This is Labour Day weekend there with Monday being an holiday, so, maybe, Leo is taking his long weekend to go do more sightseeing.

If the tweets are legit, the girl first states she is in Sydney airport on her way to qld

qld stands for Queensland , so maybe he is going to visit the Great Barrier Reef area.

Okay, thanks Ox! Sounds like a beautiful place.

Poor Leo

What's eating Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio?

While stars including Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe manage the paparazzi, Leonardo DiCaprio is struggling with the attention since arriving in Australia six weeks ago to film The Great Gatsby.

Such is his need for privacy, he's vacated the harbourfront mansion he was renting for $10,000 a week in Vaucluse, and taken up residence on an entire floor of The Star.

The revamped Pyrmont casino rushed to finish work on the rooms for DiCaprio, 36, and have even modified the layout specifically for him.

And although Gatsby cast and crew and Sydney locals say he's "warm" and "friendly", one paparazzo, who didn't wish to be named, said DiCaprio makes it hard for himself.

Start of sidebar. Skip to end of sidebar.

.End of sidebar. Return to start of sidebar.

"He has decoy cars, tail cars and blocking cars to try to stop photos being taken of him," he said. "He doesn't seem to understand that if he didn't have massive entourages and decoys we would just take the photos and go."

He said DiCaprio, who commands $20 million a movie, should take a leaf out of Crowe and Jackman's books.

"They are great to work with - they understand the game. If Hugh is down at the beach with his family, the sign to us it's time to leave is he puts his shirt on. We respect that and we go.

"Russell is the same - he just goes about his life and he understands that having your photo taken is part and parcel of being a star."

DiCaprio's appearances have now turned into a cloak and dagger circus. At a Sydney Swans game last month, which he attended with Gatsby cast mates Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire, a request was made for the actor to be driven underground, away from public eyes.

Then, at the launch of The Star more than two weeks ago, DiCaprio arrived with three decoy lookalikes, with an area roped off just for him.

Two days later, he cut short a boat trip on the Harbour after he spotted a photographer following in a water taxi.

DiCaprio has never made any secret of his hatred of the paparazzi, branding them as disrespectful and dangerous.

"The reason I don't pose or smile or that I seem mad is that I don't want them to make a living off my private life," he has revealed.

Phillip Bloch, a celebrity stylist who knows DiCaprio, and has worked with Collette Dinnigan, said the actor needs to lighten up.

"He's not George Clooney when it comes to dealing with his fame," he said. "He sometimes isn't very gracious. But I don't know why he would be reacting that way. Australians are very warm and laid-back."

But a source on the Gatsby set said the actor is getting on with everyone.

So... I just saw a picture uninteresting (at least for me) of Blake with Ryan Reynolds <_<. Can someone please explain to me why she's spending so much time with him? I don't like this.

Hey Barbie, laughed a lot with your dream . I never dreamed with him, but I dreamed that he came to Brazil and my aunt could get his autograph, and I screamed for her to give me and cried, but she doesn't gave me... I woke up upset .

Thanks JouJou, kat, fash, oxford, aomg for the news, tweets and pics.

Kurt Russell replaces Kevin Costner in Django...

I don't liked. Kurt seems to me a choice worse than Kevin Costner, I just don't like it.

Nolan, Bay and Cuaron Top the List for Twilight Zone?

Nolan... definitely. Sounds so great.

I wouldn't fret Nanda. They shared a train ride down to Boston. Still don't know why shes going there, but I don't think anything of it. Also him and Scarlett Johanson have a little thing goin on still. Plus Ryan was her costar, and they are friends!

But yeah I also feel bad for Leo, but at the same time I want pics as well. I think he just needs to relax a little better!
