  3. Oh yes, that's their new conspiracy theory. Last time, Hillary said it was the "scary Russians". Next time, it will be the UFOs. The truth is that everybody is trying to prepare their excuse in case they lose in November. Many of the conspiracy theories this video promotes have been debunked (the truth is that postal services all around the world have been hit, for the past 20 years, by a strong competitor: the Internet... cause indirect competition is a harsh killer). This guy debunked one of these conspiracy theories:
  4. It's one of the most beautiful games I've played. Probably the most beautiful one so far.
  5. Big tech companies continue to shill for one political side and it's getting worse. I don't care if you think that one political side is the good and the other one is the evil, censoring people (including journalists and scientists) should worry everybody. Monopolies using their power to root for high profile politicians (while expecting benefits in return) should worry everybody. Here's what Mark, Jeff should start reflecting on: "Hans, are we the baddies?"

  12. I've taken classes on Heidegger a couple of years ago, but I haven't read the source material. I didn't really enjoy it at the time (or maybe my other interests were too big and overshadowed it). People told me that I would like Heidegger's take on science and technology, but I didn't find it that much exciting at the time. Maybe, I'll give it another try in a couple of years. On the other hand, I enjoyed reading a couple of Hannah Arendt's books (who was one of her students, though their topics are quite different). IMHO, Arendt's work is one of the most important to understand many shortcomings in today's world. Her takes on education, the banality of evil and totalitarianism are really precious.

  15. What particularly strikes me is how a lot of the young ones behave. They're like "gnus". They believe everything they're fed, with no critical thinking, then they chew it like bovines and translate it into mindless violence. Maybe, it's always been like that, and, luckily, the majority of them are probably fine. Still, it bothers me that the ones with lowest levels of critical thinking are often within the highly educated kids (particularly in humanities). Normally, it should be the opposite...
