  5. Elsa On Those Candice Comparisons WHEN the 10 new Angels were named by Victoria's Secret earlier this year, comparisons were inevitably drawn to existing or previous Angels. Sara Sampaio was called the new Adriana Lima for her sporty shape, dark hair and pale eyes; while Swede Elsa Hosk was compared to South African Angel Candice Swanepoel for her hourglass proportions and beachy blonde locks. But Hosk isn't letting it go to her head. "People compare us, I do get that a lot, but to me she's just the goddess, I mean I can't even get close to her level of perfection!" Hosk laughed as we spoke to her backstage at the Victoria's Secret show. "Of course, I'm very flattered. I adore Candice; she's definitely one of the hardest workers, and she's really down to earth. All of the established Angels are all just the biggest inspiration to me; they've been doing it for so long. Behati was doing Pink when I took over from her, and she's just such an amazing spirit and she always keeps it light and fun." While training for the show is spent in some fairly unglamorous situations - from gyms and workout studios, to rainy parks galore - Hosk revealed that she couldn't wait to take to the catwalk with her fellow Angels. "I was so excited for all the new Angels to be able to walk as Angels, and show off all the hard work we've put in," she told us. "Before the show, I did a mix of boxing, pilates, barre and cycling - just mixing it up as much as I could so I didn't get bored. I'm a sporty girl anyway, so the more energetic the exercise is, the more I like it." http://www.vogue.co.uk/news/2015/11/19/elsa-hosk-victorias-secret-angel-compared-to-candice-swanepoel

Madame Tussaud’s Adriana Lima Brazilian beauty Adriana Lima will come face to face with her Madame Tussaud’s wax replica when it’s revealed at the Herald Square Victoria’s Secret store on Nov. 30. Lima, the first Victoria’s Secret Angel to have received that honor, also becomes only the second Brazilian to be immortalized in wax. The first was soccer superstar Pelé. Lima fans wanting to see the real thing in action can tune into the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show when it airs on CBS on Dec. 8. http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/gossip/confidential/security-worse-airport-trump-tower-source-article-1.2439771

  13. Who Are The 'Project Runway: Junior' Judges? They've Made Their Mark On Fashion & Entertainment Hannah Davis Before she grabbed headlines as the future Mrs. Derek Jeter, Hannah Davis, who will serve as host and judge on Project Runway: Junior, not only grabbed headlines but magazine covers as a supermodel. Davis was featured on the cover of this year's Sport Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, has modeled in campaigns for Ralph Lauren, and had a memorable turn in a recent DirecTV commercial. Davis also served as a guest judge on this past season of Project Runway, so she hopefully picked up some pointers from Heidi Klum, who is one of the best hosts/judges on reality TV, in my opinion. http://www.bustle.com/articles/122670-who-are-the-project-runway-junior-judges-theyve-made-their-mark-on-fashion-entertainment
  14. Hannah Davis On Her & Derek Jeter's Wedding Plans: 'I Don't Want Anyone To Show Up' The Sports Illustrated cover model and her baseball icon fiancé got engaged in October, and are keeping details happily under wraps. "I can't give anyone info, because I don't want anyone to show up," Hannah joked with Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Thursday's Access Hollywood Live, when asked if she and Derek have set a date yet. "We're so private," she said. Hannah did arrive to the Access Hollywood Live set wearing the stunning diamond sparkler Derek gave her, and confirmed that the proposal came as a total surprise. "I love it," she said of the ring. The "Project Runway: Junior" host and the former Yankees shortstop have been together since 2012, but Hannah said that Derek's reputation as one of the country's most well-respected athletes never fazed her. "I never was a Yankees fan. I didn't know anything about baseball because I'm from the Virgin Islands and we have cricket, we don't really have baseball," she said of her island upbringing. Growing up in an isolated community may also have contributed to Hannah's desire to keep her personal life to herself. The 25-year-old beauty moved to New York City after high school to continue her modeling career, but said that island life was a kind of spotlight all its own. "Everyone knows your business, but it was an awesome childhood," she said. http://www.accesshollywood.com/articles/hannah-davis-her-derek-jeters-wedding-plans-i-dont-want-anyone-show/
  15. What would you say is the biggest misconception people have about Sports Illustrated swimsuit models? I don't think it has anything to do with Sports Illustrated. People stereotype models because they think you're just brainless human beings who take pictures for a living and have no goals. Any of the girls that I know who are models have a lot of other things going on. A lot of times, this is one of the first jobs they've ever had at 13, 14 years old, and they were able to support their families. I commend them, a lot of these girls, for stepping up to the plate and taking on such a scary business. I know girls that are models that started tech companies — I mean, you name it. Look at Heidi Klum and women like her who used the modeling industry to branch out into tons of other things. It's a great platform to have. There's so many things that you can incorporate into your life, like Project Runway. Because I'm a model, that's why I got the gig. These days, you can' t survive being a pretty girl who takes pictures. There has to be more. It's actually more challenging these days. A lot of new models are being found on things like Instagram. What are your thoughts on that? Do you like social media? That's a tricky question. I understand that in this day and age, I need it for my business, and most people have to use it for their jobs, especially in this sort of fashion world I guess we say, but do I like it? No. I don't like to share. I'm super private, and I find that I'm always struggling [with] posting pictures. My agents and publicists — there's always someone always saying, "You have to post this picture now," and I'm thinking, What has the world come to? Why can't I just do my job, and why do I have to share all the other stuff? But unfortunately, that's my generation, so I'm given no choice. That's built into even contracts now. So with social media, you have no choice in our business anymore. So do I like it? Not really. But I understand it. And now all these photo editing apps are available, there's a huge obsession with editing selfies. Do you ever feel pressure to look perfect on Instagram? I think that's so stupid. If I edit it a picture to look like one thing and then people see me in real life, they will be all confused, like, "Wow! Her butt's really not that big." It's such a strange thing. I'm happy with who I am. I can hardly even work my own phone. It's super sad. The only filters I use are the ones that Instagram offers, but I don't know how to tweak and edit all that stuff. Less is more. Especially if you want to stay true to who you are, just be happy with what you got. It's OK if you don't have a size-24 waist. You're living in a fantasy world with all the editing. It's not real life. You're trying to look like a Barbie doll. What is something you'd like to see more of in the fashion industry? I would like to see more variety as far as body types on the runway and in campaigns. When they do randomly use a plus-size model on the runway, it's like a publicity stunt and I don't think it's truthful to the brand. I almost find it sickening. They're not doing it for the right reasons. You guys don't even make clothes for girls that size and yet you're going to use them on the runway because you want it to make headlines. I wish that the fashion industry was a little more open-minded and realistic as to what real women look like. And not to say you can't make clothes for girls who are super skinny. That whole body-shaming thing, I don't understand, because I just want to see different shapes and sizes, whether that be super small or curvy, rather than it just to be to get attention from the media. What do your diet and workout routines look like? I have no average [diet or workout routine] because I have no really set schedule in my life. I've been out in L.A. for a week, and I haven't worked out once because I've been working this whole time. I've just been tired. But other times, I'll have a week off and I'll go to the gym every day because it's something to do. I bike, hike, swim — it just depends on where I am. I don't love being in the gym, so I'll find any excuse to do something active during the day, especially if the weather is nice. If that means riding my bike all day, I'll do that before I spend an hour in the gym. Do you feel more confident with or without makeup? I wear makeup for events because I'm more self-conscious. You're in front of all these crazy lights and without makeup, you almost look see-through. So going to events, I prefer to wear makeup, but in my daily life, I don't wear a stitch of makeup just because I don't like the look of makeup on when I can see it on my face. It bothers me when I look in the mirror and see a crease under my eye and [it's from] makeup. I'm not a makeup girl. I really genuinely don't even know how to apply it. I can do the bare minimum. For me, I just use a tinted moisturizer that gives you a little coverage and has SPF. I don't even wear mascara in real life. I hate taking it off. I feel like I have raccoon eyes for days. What is your next big career goal? I want to have my own company of some sort. I definitely want to do something fashion-related where I can be more like a businesswoman and be on the back end of things. That would be challenging and interesting and something I always wanted to do, but timing is everything. I'm excited about Project Runway. I appreciate where I came from, but after getting Sports Illustrated, I feel like I've done a lot being a model in this industry, so I want to do other things. I'm never going to bash where I came from because it's always something I'll do a little bit going forward, but hopefully I can get into other things that are a little more interesting. http://www.cosmopolitan.com/style-beauty/fashion/news/a49180/swimsuit-model-hannah-davis-project-runway-junior/
  16. Why Swimsuit Model Hannah Davis Never Edits Her Selfies The Project Runway Junior host says, "Just be happy with what you got." You grew up on the beach in St. Thomas wearing flip-flops and swimsuits. Was it difficult to transition into being a host for a fashion design show? No, not really. I grew up in the Virgin Islands, and that was definitely my upbringing, as this island baby. But I signed with IMG and started modeling when I was only 14. So although I had a very normal life when I was home, I was still walking runways during New York Fashion Week and London and Milan. It's a bizarre way to grow up. Going to school, no one knew any of these designers and everyone [dressed] super casual, but then I would go to New York Fashion Week and I'd be learning about all these designers. I've been in fashion for quite a long time. Did you have any hesitations about doing reality TV? Yes and no. The idea of reality TV freaked me out because I felt like that's not who I am. But before I decided to host, I guest-judged on the regular Project Runway, and was able to sit in and watch how it's done, and I realized that there was no scripting. It really is a competition, and we are dealing with kids, so it's not about the cattiness. You'll see on the show, these kids love each other to death. None of them have a bad bone in their body. They're having a blast. They're learning so much, and they're finding themselves on this show. So I think it's not what you'd expect from reality TV. It's something really cool and positive. Especially when you're dealing with kids, you don't want to sort of exploit them in any way. You want it to be about the fashion and what we're really there to accomplish. Is it difficult to judge kids? It is. It is. But I had to realize that if I'm not being honest with them, then I'm not helping them to grow on the show. A lot of times I had some favorite designs, and I still had to make critiques. The kid might be great already, but how can I critique this in a way that they can even step it up this next week or this next challenge? Luckily, we've got some designers on the show as judges, so they are able to say, "Oh, I know how you can fix that hemline. Here's a good trick." We definitely wanted to make every child's experience on the show wonderful, and have them take something away from the whole experience and be better designers.
