  1. Wow. I did not expect that trailer to hit me so hard. I guess because it showed more than any of the other ones, it was hard for me to watch. Wasn’t expecting that. I know these people. I live in this community. I provide trauma therapy to the people in this community. This kind of indigenous treatment still happens everyday here. My close coworker’s mother and niece were murdered a couple of years ago when their house was purposefully set on fire during the middle of the night. Apparently, her mother, a Cherokee woman, angered the wrong people. The anniversary of that murder just passed and the investigation is still pending. The house exploding in the trailer hit too close to home. Hell, it is home. I will probably have to watch the movie in stages. I don’t think I’m going to be able to watch it in one sitting. Sorry. I just was not expecting to have this reaction to it.
  2. Thank you, Oxford! I love that he needs reading glasses. A reminder that he is human and does succumb to aging just like the rest of us. 😄

  5. Only if the strike is over by then.
  6. Yep. It’s an Indie film. That’s why they can get away with cast promotions.
  7. Is Ferrari considered an independent film? That might be why he’s allowed to do that?
  8. I’m assuming the cast will only show up if the strike is over by then.
  9. Yeah. I’m not sure how much longer Marty is going to be able to work.

  13. I am not a SAG-AFTRA member, but I am currently working with Sesame Workshop (aka, Sesame Street) as an expert consultant on two of their upcoming projects and I am just following their lead when it comes to the strike. From what I have been told, because myself and the producers are not SAG-AFTRA or WGA we technically can continue with development of the projects. However, in support of those that are striking, we will not cross the picket line regardless. Since KOTFM is “in the can” Apple/Paramount can do whatever they want with it. They own it. They could start streaming it today if they so desire. However, they will not get any promotion from the actors. It would just be a cold release. If they do want promotion from the actors, then the release will not happen until the strike ends. The strike also messes with award season as a whole if it goes on too long.
  14. Possibly. It being billed as a Scorsese/DiCaprio film is enough to promote it just through trailer releases and get people to stream it and even go to theaters. If they need money that badly, then releasing the movie without having to pay the actors for their promotion time is how to get it.
  15. Apple could still release KOTFM in October, we just may not get any actors doing any promotion for it if the strike hasn’t ended. Not good for those of us who want to see Leo do press junkets, but at least we still get a movie. Leo doesn’t seem to enjoy doing promotion anyway, so he’s probably fine with that.
  16. The episode is more about AI using actors’ likenesses instead of the actors themselves. Leo already works infrequently, now he wouldn’t have to work at all. Just scan his likeness and he can then play on the beaches of St. Tropez all he likes. The technology is creepy.
  17. If you can, watch the Black Mirror episode about it.
