My review of eating Wingstop for the first time (lemon-pepper fries, garlic-parm, mango habanero, korean spicy bbq, hot honey):
prices of the real wings/drums themselves are not competitive at all with local places where I can get higher quality. So I tried their chicken nuggets.
Chicken nuggets are well-fried but very over-sauced and too spicy for me. The sodium levels are through the roof. I don't see how this place can compete with kfc-popeyes at all for this reason. I do like how there is a big variety of options missing in most fried chicken joints.
Otherwise they are for people who are used to eating very spicy and salty food all the time like Indian and Korean people. I liked the garlic-parm and hot honey the most- the garlic parm was over-sauced though and too salty and I'd like the hot honey more if it was less spicy.
Lemon-pepper fries were flavorful but too much pepper and salt for me.
The korean bbq tasted like average chinese-fast food take out general tso's chicken more than korean with a kick.
Mango habanero had good flavor but was too hot for me.
Overall, I probably won't go there again besides to sample their non-spicy items (mainly BBQ flavors). I will stick to local chicken joints which have better quality.
+ gave me heartburn a few hours later and I had to take half a dozen antiacid tablets lol
