New footage of the capture of Gostomel airport by Russian paratroopers. (odysee.com) This airborne operation is presented as a "success" from the Russian side while the Ukrainian/US/NATO commentators call it a fiasco. These types of polar-opposite interpretations are common in war, with extreme bias exhibited by analysts of the opposing side. Battle of Antonov Airport - Wikipedia Battle of Hostomel - Wikipedia

I still think she looks very good, but definitely getting a little weird like Elsa Hosk. Lost weight, got botox (skin on her face looks tight), sports very thick makeup. Thank god she didn't get lip fillers though. I wonder if that thick makeup on Elsa and Liz is meant to hide signs of wrinkles ?

The US and NATO military advisors that worked in the Ukraine for years must have known that the only way to prevent the Russians from breaking into the strategic depths of the country was to have artillery superiority. Instead Ukraine had vast artillery inferiority. However I am thinking that it would have been impossible to store millions of heavy artillery rounds, thousands of artillery drones, and another 3000-2000 artillery pieces without a Russian response. It would have to be concealed in NATO member nations. The training of tens of thousands of artillery personnel would have to be concealed somehow.

The Syanna backstory has some similarities to the Ciri one. Except in reverse, and also involves bandits. CDPR also has Geralt mentioning Renfry to Syanna. One of the key themes of the Witcher novels is how Ciri ends her journey of suffering without being corrupted into becoming a villain and losing touch with her spirit. Syanna is the opposite, she embraces her villian-hood but there also evidence that she did not have to turn out this way. The Syanna/Geralt In a way, Syanna is a much deeper and more complex version of Renfry from the first novel and Netflix season 1. And tied into a much longer and more interesting story.

Nations win allies by extending them an olive branch, not war mongering and spamming the US/UK media with fictious propaganda. Cold War 2 should have been stopped at all costs. The best defense against Russian aggression is to keep their military as small as possible. This is not best done by war but by removing perceived threats. Putin is not Adolf Hitler. The Russian people want culturally "Russian lands" that was lost since the fall of the Soviet Union, not Eastern Europe. They see Ukraine as an artificial country created by the fall, and a great shame. They also see NATO as encroaching on Russia. In a way Putin is giving his constituents what they want. It is clear that a lot of Ukrainians are dying for Russia. Half of "Russian" casualties have been taken by DRP/LRP militamen. The US/NATO gamble was to prepare the Ukrainian armed forces sufficiently to repel the Russians. So far they have failed, and Russia is on track to win the war and declare victory over the US/NATO, and Ukraine. War only creates losers. The main difference is 'who has lost more'? The damage will extend for many years, well past the end of this war. Now the Russians have the best excuse they could ever have for rebuilding the Soviet military and threatening all of Europe and making the US massively increase its defense expenditures.

Finished Fellowship and the Twin Towers, and well into Return of the King. The films are mostly loyal to the books, with significant additions and some things taken out. What is added is a ton of action and also additional content (such as Boromir, etc.) and small changes. There is very little action in the books. All in all, the extended cut of the films are frankly better than the books to me. They say that a picture is a thousand words and this holds true. I just don't have enough imagination if I rely on the books alone. -
US/NATO does not really care about the well-being of the "Ukrainian people", this is a proxy war against Russia, a desire to "weaken" her. The Ukrainian people are being sacrificed as human collateral in an unnecessary war. Plus, their cities and towns are being destroyed. Russians are mainly interested in retaking the pro-Russian/Russian speaking provinces of Ukraine. It is not likely that they will invade Poland and start WW3. US/NATO failed to realize that the Russians took NATO encroachment and investment in developing the Ukrainian armed forces for 8 years seriously. Perhaps a March 2022 deal would involve half- de-militarizing Ukraine and giving them the DRP/LRP territories, thus returning to the pre-2014 status quo.

A tally of Russian MOD claims of degrading Ukrainian units in the Donbass 7/5- 7/14. I do not include claims of material losses and command posts. So basically, prior to the 7/13 general ground assault, they launched strategic attacks: massed airstrikes and missile clusters on top of the general artillery offensive. The claimed results were thousands of Ukr casualties, many command posts struck, and a lot of material losses.

7/13 Yesterday the Russians launched major ground assaults and broke into the strategic towns of Sivesk/Seversk and Soledar. They took the towns outside of the small city (pop. base 72,000) of Bahkmut and are on the outskirts of the city. They have been interested in Soledar since the beginning of the war. So the artillery/missile preparation started around 7/5 or 7/6, so they bombed the frontline for about a week before the serious ground assault. In particular the Russian MOD announced rather exacting claims about their artillery offensive, and what Ukrainian units were hit plus their losses in these days. This is much faster than I anticipated. I was thinking that they were bomb them for at least 2 weeks. They spent a month bombing the Ukr after the Popasna breakout (to seize Severodonesk). Then they spent 2 weeks of bombing prior to clearing Lysychansk.

@Enrico_sw @SympathysSilhouette What path did you guys choose for Blood and Wine? I find it interesting that they made the choices kind of a dilemma. Regis is constantly making excuses for Detlaff, but the logical path is to kill Detlaff and kill or imprison Syanna. Just like Witcher 1 there is chaos in the city. I had forgotten about this.
