In my experience only tiktok has very rapid growth, the others have very little organic reach (twitter, instagram, facebook). youtube long form is mediocre in traction but youtube shorts is no. 2 in terms of growth. I joined twitter around the time of Elon's acquisition and the social account is almost dead for me despite my periodic attempts to keep it alive. Elon seems like he intentionally destroyed the platform that he always had editorial issues with. In the end Tiktok wins.

trying to wrap my head around the whole concept of 'booktube' and 'booktok' & to see if I can get something useful out of it. These are people who have big channels that are composed of them making videos saying 2 sentences each about 50 books that they've never read... The whole concept seems disingenuous as these people (mostly women) seem to be mainly advertising these (usually fiction) books. Probably paid by publishing houses & authors.

It's really strange to me that Elon Musk is now being turned into a 'public enemy'. For many years he was one of the most liked and admired people in the world. Now all he is doing is complicating his business & life and making potential enemies. By buying twitter he got too involved with politics & trying to influence information world rather than focusing on making Tesla succeed.

Some of the psychological studies point out that young men are attracted to 50% of young women but on the other hand young women are only attracted to 20% of young men. ^ Agreed, seems to be the case although exponentially superior to 'social science' and 'political science' lol. Berg's channel is thousands of pieces of dubious advice to straight up garbage from what I've seen, generally targeting people who have weight loss, diabetes & other health issues.
