Maybe it’s the part of the brand that is depreciating I have seen people say they need to update the stores.

VS does need to have physical stores because so much of the brand is in the shopping experience and fantasy like buying with an “Angel card” to make you feel like you are an Angel too.

Instead of going older, VS tried to go even younger with the 'Bright Young Things' line. The problem is that teens want what adult women are wearing. Once adult women move on, it’s not as exciting and grown-up anymore for the teens.

What do you mean by that? Age, race, body type? Or more what styles they carry?

I’m still worried about Hamish directing the show… Because I still think that he could have had a lot to do with the onslaught of Josephine in last year’s show.

The problem is that VS wants to give the Angels special things like big wings because the girls want them but then they can’t handle it like Candice and Josephine. The difference between the two though was that Candice voiced her doubts like a professional unlike Josephine who put on a front like she was totally comfortable because she didn’t want the shiny toy taken away from her (not realizing she would have probably had a much more amazing moment on the runway with something that she could work with.) Not everyone is like Heidi Klum who wanted the biggest wings and could also walk with them on without having a hunched back.

That kung fu segment reminds me that Josephine is not very coordinated. Jasmine looked much more graceful doing martial arts. Maybe that correlates to not being able to walk well with wings on.

It really does seem like she can’t handle wings. Give her an outfit like the cop one and call it a day.

Often the sketches can look amazing, but the end result doesn’t quite capture the high fashion element in the sketches. It’s like they can do the exact colours and patterns of fabric, but the execution is more basic. Instead of airy wings made out of feathers, you get a round shield that has feathers sticking out of it etc. Karl Lagerfeld has praised the seamstresses at Chanel saying no one else is able to get and execute his vision like they do. Could Josephine open a show without freaking out like she did when she opened a segment for the first time? She was crying on the runway.

Is Elsa her favourite VS Angel the same way Candice is Elsa’s favourite VS Angel?

VS is losing any pretence it had about being serious about putting on a fashion show, treating fashion as art, a craft, an expression, an aesthetical or an entertaining experience for the viewer. VS is like Sears or Target but with different marketing.

From what I understand, Ashley prefers not to use that term because skinny women aren’t labelled anything so why are bigger women labelled “plus-sized.” Plus what? It makes it seem like bigger women are not normal women like everyone else. Naturally, she was marketed by the fashion industry as a plus-size model. She isn’t dead set against it, but I understand why she would not choose to use that term when she has a chance to promote something herself.

For the FB Best: Martha, Behati, Sara Worst: Josephine (I can’t with the overly perky Angel persona she puts on, the baby voice, and all the over the top descriptions she uses regarding VS and angeldom, which convey a certain lack of self-awareness/sincerity. If she lost all that, she would be fine although I’d prefer someone without implants getting the bra), Romee (I do think you need to have a nice chest for the FB. Hers was so scary in 2016 that is ruined a great outfit in the Mountain Romance section), Stella (There’s something off-putting about the <choices other then my own> lives she and KStew seem to lead plus topping the Maxim Hot 100 list was a joke. She gives me social climber in high fashion vibes. I don’t think she ever really belonged, especially not in VS.)

@HitchcockBlonde I do think Miranda is the most successful Western top model in Asia. I dunno if others just haven’t tried or if they know they wouldn’t be as wanted there so they concentrate on other markets.
