Why didn’t she come forward sooner? It could be for many reasons. It seems that she was told that it’d be unlikely that she would win in court so she was advised to reach for a settlement. In exchange, she had to sign a non-disclosure agreement. She probably figured it’d be better than nothing. Harvey Weinstein is very rich and influential. Politicians, industry insiders etc. are his friends. He gave a Manhattan DA $10,000 after the DA declined to prosecute him for sexual assault charges (and he had previously supported the DA with over $100k for the DA’s political aspirations.) He has donated a LOT of money to different charities. It is said that he has raised about 50 million for amfAR over the years. His behaviour was an open secret in Hollywood. He had people like Matt Damon and Russell Crowe endorse him, which resulted in NYT pulling a story that they were working on about him earlier. So, she would have probably been blacklisted had she accused him of rape publicly back then. Out of a job AND a rape victim? It’s extremely hard for victims of sexual abuse to go up against the perpetrators (shame, fear etc.), let alone when the perpetrator is someone as powerful as Harvey Weinstein and there are so many influential people complicit in covering up for him.

I did wonder about Mira Sorvino and Uma Thurman because of their connection to Tarantino who is Harvey’s protegee. Mira has disappeared from Hollywood despite having an Oscar and Uma’s ex claims that she is mentally ill. It could be just slander but if true, maybe it’s a result of suffering abuse in Hollywood? Gemma Arterton and Amanda Seyfried are speculated to be those who rejected Harvey too “harshly” so he curbed their careers in revenge. Although some say Ben Affleck is the one who set out to ruin Gemma’s career in Hollywood.

I think there were different types. “Harvey’s girls” who were with him to boost their careers and then those who he sexually harassed or abused. Likely “Harvey’s girls” include Jennifer Lawrence, Gwyneth Paltrow, Alicia Vikander, and Blake Lively. Jessica Alba, Olivia Wilde, Rita Ora and Lana Del Ray are also rumoured to be among them. Gretchen Mol as the one he used and discarded. Vikander is rumoured to be a major druggie now and that a body double was used for the majority of filming Tomb Raider. Did being one of “Harvey’s girls” take a too big of a toll on her? But Harvey was so well-connected that it’s hard to say. There are pictures of Heidi Klum, Amy Adams, Naomi Campbell etc. being affectionate with him! It’d be unfair to assume that everyone he was pictured with was in bed with him one way or another. There were likely different levels of involvement. Maybe a young then-unknown starlet had to sleep with him but let’s say someone like Gwyneth Paltrow, who would be protected by her own family connections, did him favours but wouldn’t have to outright sleep with him. In addition, there are likely those who he pursued but who were able to reject his advances. It’d be a shame if they were assumed to be part of the casting couch process just because he wanted more with them. A possible example of that could be Emma Watson:

Her tweets have me in tears! I definitely think she is pointing at Harvey as the perpetrator and Bob et al. as those who covered it up. Maybe it was the kind of rape that would be hard to prove in criminal court but judging by her tweets, she seems to identify as a rape victim. Rose’s parents raised her and her siblings in a sex cult in her early childhood. Predators are good at finding vulnerable people to be their victims. Maybe having a messed-up childhood made her more vulnerable to him.
