  1. k_dub you be a gemini....me too....we are meant to be lawyers....i just cant stand it....i was in law and govt magnet in monroe...it was boring as hell.

Interesting, Neo. Actually, my dad thought I should have become a lawyer. He said I had the mouthpiece for it. Anyway for some weird reason, their are a lot of geminis in my family. I have 2 cousins whose share the same birthday, may 25th, I have another cousin who was born on June 4th, My dad's birthday is on June 6th, a second cousin of mine has a birthday on June 7th, mine is June 10th, my half-brother is on June 12th, and I have another cousin whose birthdate is June 19th!!! :o It's get wierder. My dad said he found his original birth certificate, and his middle name, which he thought was spelled Lewis, is actually spelled Louis. he aslo told me that his original birth certificate lists he wasn't born on June th, but on June 10th, which would mean that we share the same birthday!!! :| I'm gonna visit him sometime this year, and that's when I will ask to see his birth certificate to actually verify it. I doubt he would lie about something like that, but I just wanna be sure.

  2. Its all good. Like u said, Cain, Wooden had nobody to rival him, and that is the reason why most of the records he set will never be broken. You are right about that. These days, their are too many good teams and coaches. Eventually, one is gonna knock off the other. Like many great rivalries, they go tit for tat.

And to answer your question, Muffin, no, I wasn't. As a Gemini, I try to find the middle ground. If a issue is one-sided though, I will use that to my fullest advantage, as is shown by a majority of my posts above. ;)

  3. None of the records that Wooden set have been broken yet!!! When is one of his records gonna be broken?! Its been 30 years!!! U actually think another coach is gonna have 4 or more undefeated seasons?! U think a basketball coach will have 89 CONSECUTIVE VICTORIES?! Also, 38 straight tournament victories?! It wouldn't happen in your neck of the woods. Too competitive, right? ;)

  4. I think you need to take a look Wooden's record again.

    Indiana State record: 47-14

Led Indiana State to the conference title (1947)

Led Indiana State to the finals of the NAIA invitation (1948)

    UCLA record: 620-147

    Led Bruins to four 30-0 seasons (1963-64, 1966-67, 1971-72, 1972-73)

Led Bruins to 88 consecutive victories

Led Bruins to 38 straight NCAA tournament victories

Led Bruins to 149-2 record at Pauley Pavilion

Led Bruins to 19 PAC 10 championships

Led Bruins to 10 national championships, including seven in a row (1966-73)

NCAA College Basketball Coach of the Year six times (1964, 1967, 1969, 1970, 1972, 1973)

The Sporting News Sports Man of the Year (1970)

Sports Illustrated Sports Man of the Year (1973)

During 40 years of coaching, compiled a 885-203 (.813) record

One of only two individuals enshrined in the Hall of Fame as a player and as a coach (the other is Lenny Wilkens)

    Read it and weep!!!

  5. Dean Smith the greatest coach of all time?! Actually, many consider John Wooden, the former UCLA basketball coach, to be the greatest coach of all-time. ;) In addition to UCLA winning numerous NCAA tournaments when he coached there, he also coached two basketball Hall of Famers, Lew Alcindor(now known as Kareem Abdul Jabbar) and Bill Walton. And, if I'm not mistaken, didn't he win the most NCAA tournaments ever?! :trout: Score another one, two, and three for the WESTSIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE!!! :D LEFT COAST!!!

  6. Well, sha, even though I wanna see that fight, I won't be surprised at all if Mayweather wins a unanimous decision. And who knows, Mayweather maybe, just maybe, might be able to KO Gatti, even though I doubt that would happen. However, should Mayweather win, I wonder what would be next for him. Their is a lot of talent in the super lightweight and welterweight divisions. Miguel Cotto is the WBO super lightweight champion, and is scheduled to fight June 11th at MSG. Gianluca Branco, Junior Witter, and Kendall Holt is on the list of possible opponents. Of course, Kostya Tszyu, who is the IBF super lightweight champion, would be a good opponent for Mayweather. However, I doubt that would happen, since Tszyu will probably fight Oscar De La Hoya neat the end of this year, given that Tszyu beat Ricky Hatton on June 4th. As far as the welterweights go, both Cory Spinks and Zab Judah are in that weight group. Judah has expressed interest in fighting either Gatti or Mayweather. When it looked like the Gatti-Mayweather fight was dead, Judah called out Gatti. Go here to read all about it:

    http://www.fightnews.com/page2.shtml

Personally, I think Cotto needs a few more fights before he steps up to a fighter like Mayweather or any of the fighters mentioned above. Maybe he should fight Sharmba Mitchell so he would learn how to fight a slick boxer. Cory would be a good matchup for Mayweather, especially since both have good boxing skills and are fast. However, Mayweather brings some power to the table, and that is why I would Mayweather to win that fight if it ever went down. However, If Mayweather fought Zab Judah, now that fight I would LOVE TO SEE!!! Both fighters have quick hands and footwork. Zab probably has an edge in power, and Mayweather probably has an edge as far as skills are concerned. If that fight went down, who would you go for, Sha?! :pinch: Who do you despise more?! :trout:

  7. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! :D Just when everybody thought the Mayweather-Gatti fight might not happen, Top Rank and Main Events finally reached at deal. Some location, different date. In order to accommodate Gatti training schedule, the fight date has been changed from June 11th to June 25th. However, I don't see how Gatti can win this fight, unless he knocks Mayweather out. Mayweather is hard to hit as it is. Mayweather ain't exactly ain't a soft puncher, either. He won't knock out Gatti with one shot, but if he puts his punches together, he might be able to drop Gatti with a good combination. Gatti gonna have to brawl against Mayweather. Buddy McGirt has done a good job turning Gatti into a boxer-puncher, but nobody in the game can outbox Mayweather. He has so much skill, and he is blessed with speed in his hands and footwork. I mean, look what Mayweather did to Diego Corrales. Corrales, who is regarded by most boxing fans as the best lightweight out there, got his ass beat when he went against Mayweather. He made Corrales look like a chump!!! :o

  8. Yo, u guys can have the Atlantic and the Great Lakes. Have fun freezing your asses off in the wintertime and all that heat AND HUMIDITY IN THE SUMMERTIME!!! :trout: Tell me, do you really enjoy SWEATING YOUR ASSES OFF IN THE SUMMER?! Your gonna get wet, ONE WAY OR THE OTHER!!! We got the Pacific, the largest Ocean of them all. Plus, we don't have to deal with hurricanes, like the southeast coast does. ;)

  9. You guys claim to have the best weather, but we have the South East Coast. Weather in my opinion is the same. I feel the same mascot, College B-Ball and Pro NFL rocks, Pro-NBA and College Football just SUCKS. Nascar is fun to watch everynow n then. And yes this is mostly a collegiate coast, except when you get into the North East, then it becomes more Pro. And the West Coast just gets the leftovers that Florida don't get.

As far as college sports are concerned, I only watch the playoffs. Besides that, I find college sports to be borrrring!!! I don't watch NASCAR. I don't even know how that is even considered a sport!!! Maybe the weather in the south east coast and the West Coast is similar in the summertime, but the winter is a whole different story. Plus, the south east coast cities has a lot more humidity than in any city on the west coast. And just in case u like winter sports, we got Big Bear, Lake Tahoe, Sierra Nevada, and many other places in California where it snows. :) Also, us West Coasters never have to deal with tropical storms and hurricanes. :D We have had some tornados, but those cases are very rare, and they are never as strong as the tornadoes that occur in the midwest or on the east coast. Oh yeah, about the NBA thing, the players involved in that brawl with the fans were either from the South or the East Coast. Ron Artest, who got suspended for the year, is from Queensbridge, NY. NO WEST COASTERS INVOLVED!!! If you are gonna try to diss me on that, do your research first, OK?! Florida may get some New Englanders, but people ALL AROUND THE WORLD MOVE TO CALIFORNIA!!! WHY?! Because whatever people want, California HAS IT!!! ;)

    WESTSIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE!!! LEFT COAST!!!

  10. Well, I watched the Primetime Special on Petra Nemcova and, phew, that was DEEP!!! I know most of us know that she was in Thailand when the tsunami struck and heard about her losing her boyfriend and how she was able to survive. However, hearing her voice descibing the ordeal that she went through really affects you in a way that can not really be put into words. How she can see a silver lining all that death and destuction is beyond me. Hearing what she had to go through and what she will continue to go through makes you really re-evaluate your life and makes you really appreciate what you have, instead of complaining about what you don't have.

On a closing note, I think it was really cool that they also shared the stories of ordinary people who lives were affected the the Tsunami and updated us on how they are doing now.

  11. The writers of "24" always have some surprise up their sleeve!!! :o Now that Driscoll is gone, Tony was head of CTU temporarily and now the new head of CTU is gonna be Michelle, Tony ex!!!

  12. Oh yeah, lets me just say that the West Coast is home to such supermodels such as Tyra Banks, Josie Maran, Christy Turlington, and Eva Pigford, the latest "America's Next Top Model" winner(which is Tyra's show! ;)). Let's see you east coasters top that!!! :trout: And please, don't get it twisted. When I say home, I mean where they are from.

  13. How ironic. Last month, Cali was getting pounded with rain, and now were gonna face a heat wave. It was 75°F today. The rest of the week, we are gonna be in the 80's. The hottest day of the week will be friday. In my neck of the woods, it's gonna reach 85°F!!! Thank god us southern Californians got those swimming pools near or around werever we reside. :D Looks like we might put them to good use, even at this time of the year!!!
