Am I the only one who actually likes Jaslene? *shuffles away shyly, convieniently avoiding tomatoes* I guess it's because ANTM is one big joke to me and her accent and attitude cracked me up. Also, she rocked most of the shoots, especially the one where she was the college outcast. :neo2:

I really like Cam Diaz. She's got this bubbly personality without turning bubble-brained. I don't understand why she's single. Irritating, annoying people like Lindsay Lohan attract men like flies on shit and Cam is single in her thirties. She's so much more fun (and has a much better body too. Did you see those arms?!) I will never understand men.

I just discovered this thread after ages of absence (damn internet connection! *grumble* <_< ) but damn she's gorgeous. I got new sig material! *grins* So I just scrolled through everything and I'm astounded by the Adriana bashing. Now I must say that her appeal to me has lessened as well, (classic case of over-exposed) but to call her ugly because she bears some resemblance to Irina, is...weird. Both women have exotic looks and the notorious dark hair-light eyes thing going on, but other than that they look very different in my opinion. I think what makes Irina so appealing is apart from having a gorgeous body and the pretty face, she knows how to work the camera. Someone turns the lens her way and she throws one of her signature fierce-looks to it. That's a good model. People said to me a couple of times that I should become a model, but I won't because I just don't take good pics (in my opinion). I'm camera-shy and awkward at poses. I'm not saying I'm anywhere near Irina's beauty (first of all I'm blond, so any comparisation ends right there ) but I'm aware that to be a good model you have to be more than just a pretty face (and bod.) Okay, enough useless ramble from me (I just missed this board so I guess I'm expressing that in the form of empty text ) Eye candy! (i hope not ALL are reposts. But if they are....well, any Irina picture is worth seeing twice, no?) It probably sounds cliché, but I also have a friend who I think resembles Alba. The funny thing is that she's blonde and blue-eyed. So kind of the fantastic four look, but then for real. No-one else ever pointed it out though (she isn't very popular, so I'm guessing they're keeping their mouth's shut because they're jealous )

Ah, Sofia fans unite! I thought I was pretty much the only one on this board. Granted, a lot of you thought she was "cute" but I think she's a helluva lot more than that. She might not have the similar beauty of a model or some actresses, but she's defenitely striking in her own eccentric way. I really hope Nike realizes her full potential, for I have the impression they want to make room for the new dancers they recruited through auditions. I had hoped to see her in the new nikewomen commercial, and I'm disappointed she's not featured. To their credit, the commercial is good, but it could've been mindblowing would it have been Sofia dancing in it. I'll post some more pics soon

Yeah, that's what often happens if you have an insecure girlfriend and you tell her how beautiful you think Adriana is. It's dangerous, especially if she agrees with you. It could become an obsession, which in her case happened. I was like that years ago (14/15 I believe) I'm blonde and have grey eyes. I was completely obsessed with Dark Angel at the time, I just loved the series and I envied jessica Alba's looks, which resulted in hating my own looks. I hated the color of my hair and I wished my eyes were of a darker color and my face had a different shape. Simply said, I wished I was her. Because she was beautiful and I was always told I was not. <_< In the end I shook it off, because I knew that this was me and this was how it was going to be the rest of my life. I just have to make the best of it. Today I don't think I'm beautiful, but I'm comfortable with myself. "Be yourself, everyone else is already taken," is my motto You should tell your girlfriend you love her for who SHE is. Copying someone else results in at best becoming a bad version of the person you want to be like. Tell her that though yes, Adriana may be gorgeous, she can never beat your gf's personality and that it'd be a shame if that would get lost in her obsession with adri. I bet she probably also likes some male model or actor. Say maybe Johnny Depp, or Eugen Bauder or Marios Lekkas. Tell her you also feel comfortable with yourself, though you might not have the looks of [fill in for yourself.] and that you would like her to feel the same way about herself. Beauty is just a temporary thing. It's nice while it lasts and you should try to look your best but that's it. In the end it's your persona that counts. And be honest, Adri's funny faces and bubble-brained displays isn't all that, now is it? And compliment her about her looks. Don't take it overboard; just say something nice about the hairdo that took her ages or her choice of clothing, etc. Or invite her to go somewhere with you because it's no fun without her. Coming from a girl; things like that always brightens up my day. Good luck!

I have a little bit of stretchmarks on my inner thighs too from dropping weight and gaining weight so fast. I had an eating disorder when I was high school. It started when I was 15 and lasted until I was 17 ( I'll be 22 this summer ). I'm 5'5 and I dropped to a very thin 94 pounds. My ribs poked out and I used to joke and say that I had hip bones that could cut glass because they were so prominent. I would eat a cup of yogurt a day or sometimes go three or four days with only water and diet pills. I actually went to an Eating Disorder group meeting at a church in downtown Portland and I did my entire Senior Project on Anorexia and Bulimia. I helped myself recover. I had to. My parents were in denial of my problem and boyfriend ( he's now my ex ) was extremely worried about me, so I kind of forced myself to recover. I stopped visiting model websites and Pro-Ana forums because they were bad for me, I was constantly comparing myself to this ideal beauty that really isn't even a reality ( make-up artists, hair professionals, and airbrushing make it impossible for normal girls and women to be happy with themselves ). I eventually gained weight ( too much weight, in my opinion ) when I moved in with my boyfriend James. I reached 125 pounds. After we broke up, I started going to the gym three times a week and cooked almost all my own food at home and I got down to a very lean and healthy 115 pounds. Then I met my next boyfriend Nate and we started eating fast food for almost every single meal and I stopped going to the gym. I was up to 130 pounds back in June 2006, then in July I started cooking more and then I got really sick and dropped five pounds that month. Nate and I broke up at the beginning of August and I moved back home with my parents. I officially gave up fast food and I lost about 8 pounds in a month ( from October to November ). I now weigh between 112-115 pounds. I rarely eat fast food. If I order coffee or tea from Starbucks, it's always no whip cream, skim or fat free milk. I work out at least two times a week, sometimes three if I have time. I have juice in the morning, a Special K cereal bar ( which are really yummy and only 90 calories! ) for a mid-morning snack, a decent sized lunch ( usually a sandwich and juice or water ), and then I have a small dinner. For my height, I think I look best at this weight and I'm very comfortable with my body. I wouldn't want to weigh less than 110 pounds because I think curves are sexy on a woman and so do men! And it's ok to watch what you eat, but please do eat and eat healthy! It's hard to get out of an eating disorder, especially if you have to do it alone like I did. But talk to your doctors, discuss this with your family, and throw away the scale! Of course, I still have days where it's tough, where I'll skip dinner and all snacks. It's so hard to recover from an illness like anorexia, it stays with you for a long time. But I want to be healthy. Stop comparing yourselves to models. They are beautiful, yes, but they also have the best make-up artists, photographers, lighting, and airbrushing available to them. We'd all look like supermodels with that kind of team helping us! It's the only body you ever get, girls. Take care of it! Great post. I'm startin to eat healthier and exersise myself. I never had to worry about my weight, but I'm not really toned. More the Mischa Barton kind of frame: skinny and barely any muscle. I wanna sport a more muscular frame, so I'm going to the gym to lift weights and do cardio.
