  1. I'll translate for you :-) Nothing more irritating than watching an interview and not knowing what is said. I tried to translate it literally, but that was hard sometimes. I did it to the best of my ability, so I'm sorry if the sentences don't flow nicely. Interviewer: Good evening, we're in Suriname with Doutzen Kroes. Doutzen, how are you today? Doutzen: Everything is going very well for me! This is my first visit to Suriname and I'm so happy here. The country is beautiful. Just fantastic. I: You're here on a holiday. What are your first impressions? D: I was already happy in the airplane. I could sense that everyone was looking forward to coming home again and how proud the they are of their country. It's a wonderful thing to see. Coming outside and feeling the heat...lovely. It's a great country to visit in the holidays. I have yet to go inland, as I've only seen Paramaribo so far. I: Have you gone clubbing yet? D: I definitely have to before the new year as there are kinds of parties over here. I was just strolling down the streets and it was great seeing all these people partying. They're definitely good at that. *a beat* The surinam people. *she adds to clarify* I: How long will you be staying? D: Till early january, so I'll be leaving next week. I: Do you have any other plans? Will you go inland? D: Yes! I'm really looking forward to go inland. I want to know more about the country, the people and the 'feeling'. I'm very excited about it. *she then points to a necklace* I got this for protection. I got it from my friends. I: Oh, you have friends from Suriname? D: Jaja. One of them tagged along. I: where is she? D: *points* over there. They gave me this for protection, so I can go inland without any worries. *a laugh* I: Do you have a message for the viewers of "Waterkant" (Waterside)? You can do it in front of the camera. D: *looks at the camera* Be proud of Suriname, your wonderful country. I: Will you be returning some day? Maybe during vacation again? D: I will be returning many times! Trust me. I'll be back often. I: Next time, I'll take you out somewhere. D: Sure, that's fine. I: Thank you. D: Thank you too.
  2. Time to clear up some confusion on the web: Elissa Sursara (best friend of Transformer's Isabel Lucas) is mistakenly taken for Katarina Vargas. When you type in her name on google, you get Katarina Vargas' pictures. The real Elissa looks like this: I wonder how the two got mixed up because Vargas (apart for the dark hair- light eyes thing they both got going on) don't look anything alike. Here's another picture of Vargas:

Haha Tooboku I am a gal and I've spent most of my life on the wrong end of female "kindness." In my teens I looked like the fairy of death. I thought I looked cool too even though the rest of my class didn't. But they actually got in my face and told me I looked ridiculous which made me hold on to my fashion sense even more. It's like the old adage, "when a women says no, she means yes" With that classmate, no-one ever said anything (probably afraid God would incinerate them from above would they ever say "orange eyeshadow is sooo your color." )

*spits coffee allover screen* *looks around* *smiles awkwardly at everyone staring at me* Uh...well atleast he got muscles. And K-stew isn't that tall either. Still though, I wonder how they're going to let him tower over Rob. Hah, they might have to put him on stairs or something. Nikki Reed as Rosalie has grown on me. Though I still think I'd be a better choice because A. I can be a totally coldhearted bitch B. I'm actually blonde and I don't need any hair extensions either Who wants me?
  5. Bad, but so bad it's funny again The Crow (the movie, not the show)
  6. Nope, I have some homework to finish. Not that I'm making much progress or anything Are you still going on a holiday this year despite the crisis?

Typing this message at Bellazon while I should really work on that report.

Now that would be sad, wouldn't it? Nah, I can't imagine you're that bad. Sides, you look at your face in the mirror in the morning. If it looks like the surface of the moon, I'm sure not even your mom's compliments could make you delusional Heh, I almost feel guilty admitting it, but you're right. I remember having this girl at my class who always wore really unflattering clothing and *gasp* orange eyeshadow. She never plucked her eyebrows so she ended up looking like a cavewoman/pikey. Horrendous. She thought she looked good while the entire class was always snickering and commenting behind her back. My and my friends finally took pity on her and dragged her along for shopping and got her make-up done. She seems to have taken the hint because she looks a lot better now. I wouldn't have forgiven myself if I'd finished school without doing something.

You actually admit thinking like that. Props to you. Most guys who think they're god's gift to women will try to act humble when you call them on it *nods* though I have to admit I've pretty much become a health nut ever since my metabolism has slowed down. I can't afford eating like a pig without ending up looking like one. So I exersise 5 times a week, eat healthy, BUT if a friend wants to grab some fries, chocolate, icecream, etc. I'm in for it. Nothing wrong with cheating once in a while. Actually, I cheat every weekend. Social life calls I'm not superthin, but more muscular, which is why I like people like Jessica Biel. I know I can't look like Miranda Kerr without starving myself, so I'm not even going to try. I'd end up looking too bony and boyish anyway. Atleast now I've got a butt to speak of. If I'd get thinner, me in a dress would look like a 13-year old playing dress up. I think that if you're a girl and you're not blessed with genes that keep you slim, the best thing to do is to make your own plan and tell NOONE. Seriously, people are talking about support, but in reality others just get put off by your talking about diets or they try to pursuade you you don't need it. Keeping a diet and exersise routine is one of the most important, but boring subjects. So I don't bore other people with it. That way, I don't get obsessed either I've geot better things to do in life than standing on a scale looking at a silly bunch of numbers. Confident girls rock.
  10. The Worst: - My supersweet 16. Seriously, someone should stomp those spoiled brats in their faces and steal their new $200.000 car. I volunteer - The Hills: Heidi Montag = stupidity. I used to be proud to be a blonde. I'm having second thoughts now. And LC and Audrina Patridge (the gal with the 10-year-old boy's body and 2 melons taped on with duct tape) aren't much better *vomit* - Hell's Kitchen. Gorden Ramsay. I usually like the Britts but this guy is so foulmouthed I'm surprised his teeth are still white. If I were one of the contestants, I'd zap him with a stun gun and staple his mouth shut. Best: - Made: I like programs where they let people reach goals within their own power and a little help from outside. Quite refreshing compared to all those plastic surgery shows. You wanna look good, train for it! I like that kind of mentality, opposed to "well, there's a knife for every task."

Yeah I know Bella says she didn't try to kill herself, but is someone who just threw herself of a cliff in any good position to judge that? Even if she wasn't bent on ending her life, she sure as hell was tempting fate to do it for her. Like, "I attract bad luck. I wonder what would happen if I speed off on a motorcycle without having any experience?" Just sayin' You know, there are rumors that Stephanie Meyer was projecting herself when she was writing Bella. The dark eyes, the brown hair...the facial description resembles what she looks like. Bella is clumsy as hell, but who knows, Meyer might be as well. And Bella has a thing for old romance stories like Romeo and Juliet, which is exactly what Meyer likes. (if I remember correctly, you can find stuff of it back in the books) When the entire media circus was going on and we were all bombarded with Twilight news, I can recall her saying she knew what it was like to be the new girl and not fitting in. A lot of authors put something of themselves into characters, so it's not a stretch to say that maybe she had been terribly heartbroken over a fling once and used that in the book (in a much more exaggerated way ) Lol, look at me speculating. I should get a life *goes off to work on that boring report I have to finish by the end of the week*

Yeah, the movie stripped a lot of the 'magic' out of the book. I guess it's because everyone has their own interpretation of the characters and though Pattison does an okay job, he isn't everyone's cup of tea. There wasn't much room for improvising and I think that if they'd allowed Edward's character to have a bit more personality, it would make it easier for a lot of people to see why Bella went head over heels. Also, I don't know what to make of Kristen Stewart. Alledgedly she didn't want to host the Oscars with Pattison. Reason, she'd do that when the movies were good and not just block busters. I don't know if she was talking about Twilight or the actual oscar nominees, but remains a weird thing to say. Ah well, both the book and the movie had flaws, but they were entertaining. I'm curious to see how they'll grapple with that second novel, new moon. I think it was quite a drag to read through, with Bella wallowing in self pity and getting suicidal tendencies and all that. I can see it now: moms shouting about the unhealthy image Bella is projecting. The media circus will start allover again *sigh* In the mean time, I found this fan made poster. Quite fitting if you ask me.
  13. Heh, guilty Ever hit someone in the face with your fist? (not talking about that one boxing class you took, I mean for real)
  14. Expresso replied to wickedcrazyness's topic in Movies
I think we can safely assume that pretty much everyone who has seen the movie has read the book (except for boyfriends who were dragged along at gunpoint by their girlfriends)
  15. Guess where my sig is from. Here's the new trailer: Bale & Nine Inch Nails = bloody fantastic
  16. Guilty I'm never going to be employee of the month Ever try freerunning? (for those that don't know the term, check this vid:)
  17. ^^She's quite unusual indeed My favorite face:
  18. Hmm, he has very nice facial features and striking eyes, but he's too lanky for my taste. Probably very young as well, so I guess I'll wait until he's bulked up a bit ;-)
  19. Let me clear that up for you. She recently broke up because she and her partner weren't 'compatible.' So that's why she's jumping around like a single woman. It's because she is. Very pretty. I'm wondering how her hollywood career will be moving along. Will she get big or will her career be like one mediocore movie, like Aish's? I guess only time will tell.
  20. I agree it wasn't the most gracious thing to do. What some people will do for money.... On the other hand, now it has become public, there's no denying that it was bad. With no picture, Chris can always go out and say the claims were exaggerated and seeing how she wants him back, I think it's a fair guess that she would be prepared to have said the same thing. Now they can't and that's a good thing. Apparently he's bought her an Ipod to make it all good again. <_< I can see it now: "Honey, I'm sorry you lost your eye, but look on the bright side: I would never have bought you that Ipod if I didn't feel guilty. Besides, that prostetic eye is pretty cool, isn't it? Did you notice they gave you the wrong color? You're like David Bowie now. Totally old school. Wait. He got that from drug abuse. Ah well, kiss and make up?"
  21. I thought Kate Winslet and Penelope Cruz totally deserved their Oscars. Kate because she was already nominated 6 times, but never got it and Cruz because she proves she's not just a pretty girl. As for the men, it totally surprised me that Penn won. He was obviously the best, but I didn't think he was popular enough. I liked it as well that he chose the speach to get people thinking about marriage between gay people. In a country as free as America, they should have the same rights as anyone else. I agree with him completely. Slumdog millionaire won everything else ofcourse. I'm not surprised. These times aren't the most fun ones and I guess people need feelgood movies like that one to brighten their day. The kid with the autograph book was adorable though. And Heath Ledger. Well, I'm glad he won. Even though he isn't there to see it, atleast he'll be forever remembered as the great talent he was.

What, noone liked this movie? I loved it! Sure, it's has a Bourne vibe, but Liam Neeson rocked the role. He has a great voice too. The girl who played the kidnapped daughter was good as well. She genuinly seemed scared, while most actresses just scream and you think *yawn, I could do that.*
  23. Everyone is allover Slumdog Millionaire to grab the oscars, but I hope it doesn't. It was a nice movie, a good way to spend a couple of hours, but no masterpiece. I enjoyed "The curious case of Benjamin Button" much more and not just because I like Brad Pitt as an actor. I haven't seen Wrestler and they say Mickey Rourke gave the performance of his life, so it's prolly going to be a toss up between the two of them. As for supporting actor, I used to be against those post mortem oscars (I mean, what use are they if you're dead?) but Heath Ledger did give a performance of a lifetime and he does deserve to be remembered by that. As for the females, I'm going for Kate. Angelina already has an oscar and Kate has been nominated 6 times, but always missed it. So I hope she grabs it this time. On the other hand, I'd like to see the look on Jennifer Aniston's face if it turns out she has read Angelina's name as the oscar winner. Hehe. What? I never told you I was nice......
  24. I think I'm the only one here who actually liked the movie. I think most people tripped over the fact that it's not a balanced comedy. Hancock mixed funny scenes with drama and it I guess that's where it failed for a lot of people. At first it's real funny and light, (though I always thought the character looked slightly depressed througout the movie. Kind of gave him the aww-you-poor-thing factor) and when the movie progresses you expect more funny scenes to come and when they don't, it's like "Huh? Wait. This was a comedy! Now it's not even funny anymore!" I actually think that's the strength of the whole movie. Instead of sticking to the same old concept, the director decided to make this mish-mash (which was pretty risky) and I think it worked out really well. A bit like the last Blackadder episode, where you expect it to be all fun and laughs but instead you find yourself getting all teary-eyed. But hell, what do I know? I do know I've watched more movies than I can count over the last five years and Hancock wasn't the worst. But then again, I'm prolly also the only one who thinks Slumdog Millionaire wasn't the masterpiece everyone says it is. So shoot me.
