Episodes like this one remind me why I love the show. A cross-dimensional time-travelling gothic-horror romance is a story that you just couldn’t tell anywhere else. I'm guessing we'll be seeing the 'ghost' character again too. I don't know why they're only doing one-off episodes this season, I like a good two-parter every now and then.

I'm coming around to Clara, she comes across as immensely likeable. As much as I liked Amy, her plotline was starting to get rather muddled. I think it was the right time for she and Rory to bow out.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Dutch names You don't wanna know how to pronounce Marloes Horst... I'd been pronouncing it 'Breg-yay' in my head. Just close enough to put down as a win, in my humble opinion.

If you ask me (although I'm aware no-one did ), she'd make a great Lara Croft.

^Much better than I would have expected from Black Sabbath in 2013. Ozzy's voice is still hanging in there.

Another superb result against a team who traditionally make short work of us, and lots to like about the performance - almost every 50-50 ball won, attacking thrust from Sessegnon in particular and a clean sheet, despite Seb Larsson's best efforts. Must start defending further up the park for the full 90 minutes, though. Special mention too for the crowd, the atmosphere in the ground was the best I've experienced since Peter Reid's heyday. Position-wise, I still think we're pretty close to the wind. A few weeks ago I had 36 down as the desired total for survival and now it seems there's been something of a surge, but I'm hoping we've built enough momentum to get ourselves across the line. If I can't have Stoke to go down this year, I'll take Wigan. Martinez has done well to keep them up for as long as he has, but there's only so long you can delay the inevitable.

  17. In my experience, that’s exactly what happens. It usually goes – friendly warning, slightly-less-friendly warning, temporary suspension, permanent ban. With regard to the rules, I don't disagree that they could probably stand to be simplified and/or updated a bit, but at the same time, I’d wager that the members who can’t be bothered to read them in their current form would be no more likely to read an abridged version.

It was always going to be tricky to sell people on the reboot so soon after the iffy third Raimi effort, but I thought 'Amazing' was a pleasant surprise all round. Hopefully, this one will be like when 'The Dark Knight' followed 'Batman Begins' - relatively successful first movie, then a sequel that generates genuine excitement. A Spider-Man vehicle not competing with an Avengers or a Batman should by all rights tear up the box office. Beyond seeing Shailene in 'The Descendants', I can't honestly say I know much about her. She looks much younger than Andrew though so it could be slightly odd seeing them as a couple, if indeed that proves to be the plan.

I would have actually thought that being 166 metres tall would pretty much guarantee you any job you wanted.
