Schick looks a real player, fantastic header for the first and the second was a thing of opportunistic beauty. Lots of endeavour from the Scots, they'll need to sort out their shooting boots to have any hope of progression but obviously, today's result puts them on a much harder road.

The players' rendition of the national anthem before the Switzerland game was certainly at odds with the stereotype that all Welsh people possess heavenly singing voices. If I were Robert Page, I'd send an SOS out to Hal before Wednesday!

To give 'Coisty his due, although he does tend to use stock phrases ("let me tell you") a bit too often, his passion, analysis and insight seems to far exceed the likes of Hoddle, Jenas and McManaman. In Canada, I hear they're stuck with Andy Townsend as co-commentator and Kevin "Zinedine" Kilbane in the studio. Surely, no one needs that.

Fun game, I thought. Holland deserved winners, Ukraine a bit unlucky but I imagine they'll have enough to get out of the group. Best of all was seeing two teams trying to attack and win. Let's hope for more like it.

Sad for Tsitsipas, but I think that was probably the difference between a champion and someone who, though undoubtedly on the way, isn't quite there yet. Strange as it feels to say about a man who was two sets to the good at one point, it somehow never really looked on the cards for him to beat Djokovic.

Great double win for Krejčíková. I wasn't at all familiar with her before the tournament started but I like her style of play, when the pressure is at its most intense she seems able to produce some of her best tennis which ideally is what we want to see.

The three players with perhaps the biggest question marks against them proved their worth today, Sterling (obviously) plus Phillips and Mount. Foden is a major talent, early days of course but he has a lot of shots that "nearly" go in. Against PSG he was gifted chances in both legs and didn't take them.

Nice one, Son. Naturally when you see the kind of scenes we witnessed yesterday, you worry about the worse case scenario. Thankfully with the news coming out since then, it would appear that Eriksen is on the mend. Still think the decision to resume was crackers, mind. Good results for England and Belgium as the Marxist revolution draws ever closer.

Indeed. I can honestly say that was one of the most harrowing things I've ever seen, in football or anywhere else. The medical staff deserve a massive amount of credit for their individual and collective responses to what happened. Seems astonishing that there'd be any expectation whatsoever of resuming the game tonight, here's hoping that all the players and match officials are all okay and happy to do so.

Wales will be delighted with a point after being on the rack for long periods. On this evidence, the old guard of Bale, Ramsey and Allen are effectively retired. For everyone watching at home, there was a blessed relief at the start of the second half when technical difficulties muted Robbie Savage's microphone.

Not the final, but a storming match all the same. Anybody who saw it will know how special it was, anybody who didn't would probably think you were being over the top if you explained it to them.

Quite impressed by the fluidity of Il Mancio's system tonight. Should be interesting to see how Italy get on against a better side than Turkey, who despite being touted as potential tournament dark horses beforehand, looked decidedly naff.

Note to self: this is not the final.

Italy in total control so far, albeit without causing Turkey any major problems. Commentators talking about poor Chiellini like it's a wonder he's still alive.
  15. It would seem that people online have been slightly put out by the teaser amounting to little more than a tongue-in-cheek Metal Gear reference, whereas to me it was a nice little "we'll catch you up soon" moment. Bizarre maybe, but at this point in my career as a fan of Kojima, I honestly wouldn't have it any other way.

Came here to ask which animal we think will be predicting the outcome of each game, then in the interim saw Susie the psychic pig pick the winner of England-Croatia. No really.
  17. Interesting timing as there were seemingly rumours of Kojima doing a game for Microsoft, but I'd imagine Death Stranding is a game paid for by Sony and using the engine developed by one of their studios. What I wouldn't give though for a director's cut of MGS V.

    Italy for the Euro-Eurovision double.

Here's hoping young Theo comes of age and that we can finally find a formation that suits both Lampard and Gerrard. Honestly, between my current lack of enthusiasm towards England and the multi-locational format, which probably should have been shelved after last summer's postponement, it's hard not to feel a bit disenfranchised. Still, even I couldn't help noticing that the "experts" are completely discounting Germany this year. That almost always turns out well.

Big surprise to see Swiatek go out today. Up until this point she'd dominated the tournament and really no-one had managed to lay a glove on her. I thought she was a certainty to win it, but once again we see there's no such thing in sports.
  21. No, given the choice I'd rather explore the bottom of the sea, I think. Have you ever been chased by an animal?
  22. Thought it was fun, really well shot and directed, but sort of felt to me like they filmed tons more character stuff and ended up cutting it down to almost nothing. Skull Island on the other hand did a few more interesting things with the humans. Side note, but I'm sort of hoping that this movie will mark the end of the "conspiracy theorist who's a bit ridiculous but turns out to be right about a lot of things" stock character. It was cute from the late nineties to the early tens, not so much now.
  23. No Have you ever experienced déjà vu?
