Wikipedia lists her as having retired in '96, but that must have only been retired from runway. She was cover of '97 VS Christmas sale, and cover in an Aug '98 VS. I never knew what to make of her '97 SI TOC or the calendars for that matter - I thought those could have been left over shots from prior years, but probably that's wrong. I'd bet that the letter section shot was one of those faux-irate "what happened to my favorite girl from last time?" letters, which they answered with a "here you go" picture. I don't know how popular she was with the SI readership - I always figured she was too sophisticated a taste for their core demographic. But now I see from your search engine that she was cover of calendar '95. And now, a good scan of that letter-section shot:

I love her full breasts. Good for Britain for picking her! I don't think that a girl like that would win Miss America/USA. Guess they're more open-minded about those things over there.

Actually, that raises a good point. Has Yasmeen even worked in the 21rst century? If not, that's another thing I have against the 21rst century...

Marissa looks stunning here. That dress is very flattering, and I love the flesh-toned pumps also. I mean, I'll defer to feminine judgment on shoes, but for once she's wearing nice shoes at one of these things, rather than gladiator sandals or something. I loved Dominique Piek when she was in the ish a few years back, but I thought she was a one-and-done SI girl - I'm surprised to see her at a retrospective. Rebecca just looks older, and Botoxed.

That brown skintight dress (lovely!) certainly looks like it could be a VS dress, one of those ones with a built-in bra. I haven't seen it before I think. In the Versace shot directly above, she's wearing the same hairstyle as the Sept '94 ELLE shot in post #1379, so the time frame makes sense.

A comic book? Lol. Is there a link for that? Nicole never seems to have become that big. If that stunning, Cindy-ish NY magazine cover (post #7) didn't launch her career, I don't know what would have. The Esquire mag cover I remember; I never knew that was her. She reminds me of Lorri Bagley in several of her pics, e.g. those editorials at the top of the thread.

Hi all. I remember seeing Nicole in WWW pics from the film "Supermodels in the Rain Forest" with Tyra and Frederique back in '95. I thought she was stunning, but haven't been able to find much since. I do have this though:

I'm just curious how you found out her name in '86, given that she wasn't well-known yet back then. Or did you just see that face and become obsessed? And look for her everywhere until you could match a name to it? I might have first heard her name in late '87, I'm not sure. But yes, by '88 she was everywhere. That's when my obsession started. I don't think I've ever seen a picture of her in a swimwear catalog from back then...
