Olivier Martinez Born: on 01/12/66 in Paris, France His mother is French and his father is Spanish-Moroccan. Dark and handsome, 5'11", Olivier Martinez won his first international notice with "The Horseman on the Roof" (1995), in which he played a dashing 19th Century Italian cavalry officer who falls in love with a married woman (Juliette Binoche). Martinez slipped into acting. Both his father and grandfather had owned garages, and after Martinez finished schooling in his native Paris, he worked in numerous jobs for about five years before deciding on acting as a career. His first film roles were in "Plein fer/Full Steel" (1990), the story of a potentially deadly petanque competition, and Jean-Jacques Beineix's "IP5" (1991). In the latter, he portrayed a graffiti artist whose life is changed by a an odd old man (Yves Montand). The next year he won the most promising actor Cesar Award for Bertrand Blier's "1,2,3 Soleil". Jean-Paul Rappeneau's "The Horseman on the Roof"--a stunning romance in which Martinez and Binoche do not even kiss--and "Mon Homme/My Man" (1996) followed. In 2000, Martinez offered a superlative supporting performance as Cuban writer Lazaro Gomez Carriles in "Before Night Falls", Julian Schnabel's film adaptation of the memoirs of Cuban author Reinaldo Arenas. The actor had the challenge of portraying Arenas' friend (who also contributed to the script) who steadfastly stood by the writer through his battle with AIDS. The actor's considerable sexual magnetism was unleashed on mainstream audiences when he appeared in director Adian Lyne's "Unfaithful" (2002) as the roguish, young and charismatic rare book dealer who tempts Diane Lane into a steamy but disastrous extramarital affair. In the wake of this breakout performance, Martinez was cast as an incarcerated drug kingpin who offers up $100 million to anyone who can free him from police custody in the big-budget, action-oriented film version of the 70s TV crime drama "S.W.A.T." (2003) Education Conservatoire National Superieur d'Art Dramatique, Paris, France, acting Ecole Florent, Paris, France Milestones 1990 Co-starred in "Plein fer" 1991 Won critical notice with role in "IP5" 1992 Starred in "1,2,3 Soleil" 1996 Had first American release with "The Horseman on the Roof" 1997 Played male lead in "The Chambermaid on the Titanic" 2000 Co-starred as writer Lazaro Gomez Carriles in "Before Night Falls", Julian Schnabel's film version of the memoirs of Cuban author Reinaldo Arenas 2002 Cast opposite Helen Mirren in the Showtime remake of "The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone" 2003 Starred with Samuel L. Jackson and Colin Farrell in "S.W.A.T." 2004 Cast as opposite Diane Lane in "Unfaithful"; plays a man who has an adulterous affair with Lane's character 2004 Played a Detective opposite Angelina Jolie in "Taking Lives" (info taken from: http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/contributor/1800023475/bio) yummy! don't mind me, I totally fell for him in Unfaithful! he was sooooo SEXY
