Pia Angela Alonzo Wurtzbach (born September 24, 1989), once professionally known as Pia Romero, is a Filipina-German actress, model and beauty queen who was crowned Binibining Pilipinas 2015 on March 15, 2015; and later crowned Miss Universe 2015 on December 20, 2015. Wurtzbach was born in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg to a German father and Filipino mother. She later moved to Cagayan de Oro on the island of Mindanao where she attended kindergarten at Kong Hua School and primary school at Corpus Christi. Her parents separated when she was 11 years old, and she became the breadwinner of the family from age 11 years old until 18 years old by doing modeling and acting. Wurtzbach speaks fluent Cebuano (Visayan), English, German and Tagalog. She finished her secondary education at ABS-CBN Distance Learning School in Quezon City and studied Culinary Arts at the Center for Asian Culinary Studies in San Juan, Metro Manila. Wurtzbach is a professional model, actress, host and TV personality. She is also a Culinary Arts graduate from the Center for Culinary Studies. At age 14, under the name Pia Romero, she worked as an actress and was managed by ABS-CBN's theatrical agency called Star Magic, wherein she was included on the Star Circle Batch 11. Among her TV credits are the teen-oriented series K2BU, the concert variety program ASAP, the romance anthology Your Song, the sitcom show Bora, and the drama series Sa Piling Mo. She appeared in films such as Kung Ako Na Lang Sana (2003), All My Life (2004), and All About Love (2006). At present she is a stylist, makeup artist and beauty writer for Inquirer Lifestyle's 2bU section. Pageantry Binibining Pilipinas Wurtzbach joined the Binibining Pilipinas Pageant three times before she got the title for Binibining Pilipinas Universe (highest title). During Binibining Pilipinas 2013, she was the 1st Runner-Up (5th place), the only title-holder who does not compete that time. She tried joining Binibining Pilipinas 2014 again, and she only placed in the Top 15. There was a controversy on her Question and Answer portion wherein she was asked in Tagalog by one of the judges, Senator Sonny Angara, wherein she also answered in Tagalog, a factor that people thought have caused her not to win any title that year. It was on her third attempt that she was able to win Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2015 title, wherein she represented the Philippines for the Miss Universe 2015 Pageant. Miss Universe 2015 Wurtzbach represented the Philippines in the Miss Universe 2015 held on December 20, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. At the end of the show, host Steve Harvey announced Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutiérrez as the winner. However, after Gutiérrez's crowning, Harvey stated that he had misread the results and that Wurtzbach was the actual Miss Universe 2015. Miss Universe 2014 Paulina Vega then removed the crown from Gutiérrez's head and placed it on Wurtzbach's head. She looks far from 13 o.o But yes, the pictures are quite meh and it's not Paige's fault at all. It's her in a plain white background with not so sexy lingerie and very limited posing because these pictures are to put the focus on the clothes and not so much in the model as the regular VS pictures, this happening to Bridget Malcolm, Blanca Padilla and Kelly Gale too, they're all in a set that really limits what they can do. I'm excited about her swim pictures coming out soon, we shoud get a real look at Paige's potential with VS there

Do we know when is the magazine coming out? I just realized we're just a month away from release date I'm glad we know less about this year too, I'm sure we will all be surprised ... I just hope we are surprised in a good way and not surprised by a trainwreck

I have to agree. Even though I'm not her biggest fan, SI had probably one of the most mainstrean successful models in their hands, one that is actually know for having the body and they managed to make her look terrible both times thanks to very poor photography and horrible styling. Last year's Hawaii shoot was just a mess and all the girls looked awful and it was a location that had some of their biggest names and it was probably one of the worst shoots SI has ever done. I do believe it was Emily's choice not to come back tho, not the other way around, she doesn't need SI at all at this point. Rose got stuck with Yu again this year so did Irina and Gigi who were also part of the Hawaii mess last year.
