My first choice for opening is Elsa cuz #mybae but is not her (i do think she got the SO because why else so many fittings wtf?) so I'm hoping for Jasmine or Sara. Honestly just anyone but Taylor or Josephine because they don't have the right energy for it. The rest I'd be alright with I guess -

Now I'm going to cry and be upset if this doesn't happen but it's probably not going to happen, Jasmine didn't lead the finale last year, it was Elsa and Adriana. I'm guessing this year it will be Lais and Adriana, which is almost as good because i love their mentor-apprentice relationship

I'm 100% sure they are adding a bra, there is no way VS is risking nipplegate in the show, I mean I rather not have them adding one but they will for safety reasons. The press events they can fix it a thousand times if they want, with the show they have two takes and Lais actually has to walk with the bra, not just stand for pictures, they have literally just two chances of making it work, I just don't see them risking it, especially with the show being in China Also the color, no way a white girl was meant to wear this and the only other dark skinned model is Jasmine who wasn't getting it for sure.

I think it's going to be a NA again, VS didn't give a fuckity fuck about Candice's comeback so far, I don't see them starting to care now, her not getting the FB this year IMO is a clear sign that VS is 100% pushing the NA. Alessandra and Adriana haven't opened since 2012 so they are way pass opening time at this point IMO, kinda like Heidi. And I'm more than fine with that, as much as I love Adriana and I think she's the best opener, I've come to terms with the fact that she ain't getting big things anymore. It's time to let the other girls shine, is not like they haven't earned it

I'm thinkin they want to avoid jetlag and also make sure all the paperwork is in order so if something goes wrong they have enough time to fix it and get in the country in time for the 20th. Also, some girls may just want to do some touristic stuff because China is not a super common place they visit for work.

Also Behati's way way smaller in the chest than Lais. The only reason why the 2012 look it's because it was a basic black bra and panties set they sell in stores and they can change it easily

Your First Look at Victoria’s Secret’s Sapphire-Studded Fantasy Bra When Lais Ribeiro puts on the Fantasy Bra she can’t help but get a little emotional. “You just feel so powerful wearing it—like all the hard work has paid off,” shared the Brazilian beauty on set at Pier 59 Studios. Clad in layers of Mouawad jewels, Ribeiro looks every inch the Victoria’s Secret Angel, but her journey from unknown to modeling superstar has been unique. Working with the mega-brand since 2010, she’s gone from being a rookie to becoming a regular presence in the company’s sultry imagery. Strutting down the glittery pink runway, starring in those Michael Bay–helmed Super Bowl ads, and posing alongside the supermodels she once looked up to, she’s now earned the honor of wearing what may be the world’s most valuable piece of lingerie. Getting picked for the Fantasy Bra, Victoria’s Secret’s annual custom merger of lingerie and jewelry that serves as a focal point within its televised shows, came as a surprise. She found out during fittings for the upcoming Shanghai show on November 20 and Ribeiro admits that the news overwhelmed her. “I had no idea that [the fitting] was for the bra,” she said. “I came in and when I tried it I cried, it was unbelievable.” Though VS’s Angel brigade is filled with model moms, Ribeiro began her career after the birth of her son, Alexandre. Growing up in a small town, she didn’t dream of Angel wings or making it on the catwalk. Instead, she wanted a career in which she could help people. “I was going to school to be a nurse and then everything happened very fast.” On the advice of friends, she entered a local modeling contest and found herself whisked off to New York City before she had learned a word of English. She credits fellow Angel Adriana Lima for taking her under her wing. “Adriana knows herself. She’s very strong, powerful, and sexy. It’s inspiring—she helped me a lot in the beginning of my career,” says Ribeiro, who upon experiencing her first Victoria’s Secret shoot knew she wanted to be a part of things for the long haul. “I remember Russell James was shooting me for that first catalog and Miranda Kerr was there. She had been in this business a long time and everything was completely new for me. I didn’t speak the language. She was just jumping up and down, throwing her hair and flipping. All I could think was, ‘How am I going to be like that?’ ” Thankfully, Ribeiro is a quick study. Learning from the best in the business, she is now the standard that newcomers look to. Following in the footsteps of fellow Brazilians like Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Gisele Bündchen, her career has come full circle. “I believe everything happens at the right time,” says Riberio. This year’s Fantasy Bra is done up in gold leaf and sapphires and comes with its own bejeweled belt. Although Ribeiro may need a bodyguard to make her way to the stage, she says she loves the design. “Personally, I love the colors on my skin tone and the big stones!” Though odds are she won’t be engaging in any heavy lifting à la her Vogue video, Ribeiro is expecting plenty of excitement in Shanghai. She’s looking forward not just to bringing the VS spectacle to a new city, but also having her family front and center to cheer her on. “I have my brother and my dad there so it’s going to be very special for me and I can’t wait to see their faces when I’m walking down the runway and just see their reaction!”

WHY DID VS TAKE SO LONG TO GIVE US LAIS INTERVIEWS? The more see/read, the more I love her and I was already a giant fan of hers I'm gonna go ahead and say this is the most deserving, well given Fantasy Bra ever. After seven years of getting basically nothing, she's finally getting her time in the spotlight and now has chance to reach the full potential I always knew she had. Also she keeps mentioning Adriana in the interviews so I'm like twice as happy because it makes me happy when other models acknownledge Adriana's greatness so yasss

I was thinking the same, but then again, we also don't know whenw as that fitting. We know some girls like Sui had early fittings so it's possible they called Lais to do the fittings earlier and then they told her. But still, I love the video and her reaction is priceless. And now that I think about it, she's probably not wearing the wings because the color doesn't match the color of the bra at all. I hope she keeps the crown tho, and if she's getting wings they better be gold/champagne toned. Also if you check the FB picture in HQ, the bra doesn't have anything under it, so she's probably going to be wearing a bra under the FB for the show

All jokes aside, I hope she doesn't wear it with wings or at least not those wings, because this bra is perfect as it is, it doesn't need anything to distract us from how ugly it is (see 2012 and 2015) so I hope she either doesn't get wings or she gets something tiny and delicate like 2005 and 2006 and not a cape for god's sake

She'll pick up the pace but still, she's done VS for 10 years already, there's nothing else for her to get out of the brand, she's done it all, I'm pretty sure she's only staying for the big paycheck, not because she's actually thrilled to be doing the same work after a decade. She'll stay in VS for a couple more years but only showing up for the big events, she earned the right to that. And I also don't think she's losing any sleep over not opening the show or not getting a bra, is not like she hasn't done it before. I actually like Candice and enjoy her VS work, heck I'm excited to see her for the show, but much like Dri and Ale, she doesn't need the brand anymore, she'll leave when she wants and VS knows it, and that's why their main focus is building up the girls who neeed the brand and will stick with them for a longer time.

Lais Ribeiro Will Wear This Year's $2 Million Fantasy Bra at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show The Victoria’s Secret models never forget earning their wings. But there is one honor that tops even Angel status: getting to wear the coveted fantasy bra on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion show runway. And this year that honor goes to Brazilian-born bombshell and VS runway vet, Lais Ribeiro. Shanghai will mark the 27-year-old model’s sixth Victoria’s Secret Fashion show, and her first time wearing the Fantasy Bra. “I never cried so much in my entire life — and I have a baby,” Ribeiro said of her initial reaction (which you can watch in the exclusive clip above!) when she found out she would be wearing the $2 million Champagne Nights Fantasy bra. “It was so emotional. I couldn’t believe it when they told me. It was so beautiful.” Weighing more than 600 carats, this year’s blinged-out bra is designed exclusively for Victoria’s Secret by jeweler Mouawad and is handset with diamonds, yellow sapphires, and blue topaz in 18 karat gold on a custom Victoria’s Secret Dream Angels Demi Bra. The ornate design took almost 350 hours to create and is embellished with nearly 6,000 precious gemstones. “Who doesn’t dream about wearing the Fantasy Bra — I mean it’s an honor to be among Gisele [Bündchen], Candice [Swanepoel], Adriana [Lima], and all the big top models who have worn it in the past,” Ribeiro gushed. “I get too emotional talking about this. I have to work on that.” During her fitting, the model made sure to FaceTime her family, who was just as emotional as she was. “I asked my brother to put everybody on the phone: my grandma, grandpa, my mom, uncles, everybody in the room and then I told them and it was just me crying on the side and my entire family on the other side crying,” she said. “They’re jumping; my sister dropped the phone. It was amazing.” Ribeiro said that the first time she tried the bra on it was a “perfect” fit and no alterations needed to be made. “It felt so amazing. I think a lot of emotions that I had inside of me over the seven years all came out at once,” she shared. “I was just so happy and so proud and so thankful to wear the bra. I couldn’t believe. I swear to God three days later I was like pinching myself literally like, ‘This is not happening.’ I can’t believe. I kept asking my boyfriend, asking my close friends, ‘Is this for real, seriously?’ I couldn’t believe it.” While she may be wearing the most expensive piece of lingerie in this year’s show, Ribeiro maintains that her first VS fashion show will always be the most nerve-wracking. “Literally, I don’t know how my legs kept going” she shared. “It somehow didn’t look like I was nervous, but you know that feeling when you workout and the inside of you shakes, that’s how I felt. My legs were just shaking and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, how am I going to control this.’ And my wings were so big!” Ribeiro might be one of the top lingerie models in the world, but she said growing up that Victoria’s Secret wasn’t on her radar. “I’m from a very tiny city in Brazil and I knew Gisele and Adriana and Alessandra, but I wasn’t into the fashion world until I was in it,” she said. “I was supposed to be a nurse, but when I was introduced to modeling it changed. I was like, ‘I want to be a Victoria’s Secret model,’ Who doesn’t wanna be? And now I’m just amazed to be one of them.” The catwalker adds that her Angel idol and soundboard in the business is Adriana Lima. “She is my buddy. We are friends and she is open to new girls. She is always helping and such an example and inspiration to all the young girls,” Ribeiro shared. “She was just open to me and we became friends. I was very happy for that.” This year the show will be in Shanghai, China at the Mercedes Benz Arena, which holds more people than any of the previous Victoria’s Secret Fashion show venues. The runway will also feature the debut of the Victoria’s Secret x Balmain collaboration. But even with all those eyes, Ribeiro keeps her cool. “My family is very religious so I try to pray and to concentrate and focus and calm myself down — that’s all I do before the show,” she said. “Oh, and did I mention I’m wearing the Victoria’s Secret Fantasy Bra? You’re going to love it. Lais has been with VS for seven years, I repeat S E V E N years, and she never got anything good from VS except that lame ass segment in 2013. If someone deserves this goddamn sparky bra is Lais and everyone saying X, Y or Z deserves it more needs to fuck off. Just because another model is your favorite it doesn't take from the fact that Lais 100% deserves this

There is a problem, forum rules are that posts need to be made in English. Also Candice doesn't speak Spanish so is not like she'll understand it anyway if she ever visited BZ. As a major Adriana fan, Imma give you all some advice: prepare to be dissapointed every year now with VS and Candice she's clearly moved to the Adriana/Alessandra route, I don't expect her to get anything major for the next couple of years until nostalgia is a factor VS can market (i.e a double FB with Behati or Lily) other than that I don't really think she'll be getting the big things. Candice seems to be pretty content being a second tier now and still get her paycheck and VS seems to be clearly moving on with the NA, this marks the first time returning model didn't get the FB after having a baby and IMO that's a major sign. She'll open a segment for sure, but I doubt she's opening the show.
