Well, since she now seems to have gotten a standalone Harley Quinn film out of that deal, she probably made the right choice.

I'm not sure if ScarJo is the problem. She did a good enough job getting butts in the seats for "Lucy" (463 million worldwide box office take against a 40 million budget), which is also a sci-fi action vehicle. I actually believe part of the lukewarm critical reception might be down to some critics having waited to savage this film for their failure to cast an Asian/Japanese actress in the lead role.

It also has a rather underwhelming opening weekend at the box office. I wonder if this is down to a general lack of interest in the intellectual property or a backlash against the white-washing in the casting of the movie. Or perhaps a combination of both.

Looks alright. I'm glad it is a period piece. Though it looks like the initial setting has been moved from the 1950s to the 1980s. Is this going to get a sequel? Because I didn't see the grown-up versions of the kids in the trailer.

Can you imagine how many life sentences an average person would be serving for the same crime?
