  1. Well...this is my fault, don't get me wrong. This isn't something I wanted per se and I think it is still fixable. But first, I would like to acknowledge the series of my own errors... Mistake # 1 When I started the thing, I wasn't as organized as I should have been. Due to the "Next Top Model" poll that BOMBED and never even got off the ground, I underestimated the response I was likely to get. I assumed just one or two would show up and we'd just brainstorm until we developed something. Thank you all, BTW . Mistake # 2 I should have started this thing out with predetermined spots for each type of woman (half the group for models, half for celebs or something to that measure). That would have made it impossible to come into the conflict of having to add extra spots and STILL run out of room anyway. Mistake # 4 I started this thing out with brainstorming when I probably should have instead assigned everyone with an allotment of 1 nomination only for like the first week or so and THEN, if there were still spots left open it up to whoever stepped to the plate. Mistake # 4 Due to a failure to execute #1-3, I managed to add an extra two spots to each group (the original intention was 8) and STILL run out of room. If celebs can be included in this competition instead of having their own... These Are My Ideas for Possible Solutions 1. Have a 5th group with half actresses and half singers. 2. Have a 5th group with actresses and a 6th group with singers. 3. Replace the 4th group with actresses and singers. 4. Replace the 4th group with actresses and make a 5th group with singers. 5. We could just let this be "Part 1" with 5 names in each group. Models Groups 1-4, Group 5: Actresses, Group 6: Singers. And then, "Part 2" would have another group ect. I would like for all of you to state the one you like the most or whatever you wish to express on the issue.

  4. And who says you have to have one of a kind looks to be a model? There are few models who's look is truly unique [not referring to beauty exclusively]. To say that the fashion industry is just overflowing with models whose look is strikingly unique for their own native country/ethnicity is a stretch. We all have a natural distinctiveness about ourselves and sometimes that, general talent as a model combined with being at the right place at the right time is enough. A lot of the models from Europe and Brazil that some people think are so unique are just unique to them because they've never lived there. Naturally we all have a distiveness that sets us apart and sometimes that may be enough. Sometimes it isn't, sometimes it is. You just have to take a chance and see. You need to be warry of scams and crooks though. Do your research and be careful about how you go about these things, especially when you are a young girl. Also, be warry of who you ask this question to. Not everyone who responds to these things has the person's best interrest at heart. There are two groups that are more harm than good A) Those that will say, "yeah, sure" no matter what B) Those who are just mean spirited about the issue and will assess unrealistically high standards as a result, DESPITE THE FACT THAT THEY THEMSELVES ARE PROBABLY THE FAN OF ATLEAST TWO OR MORE MODELS WHO AREN'T ANY MORE QUALIFIED BY THEIR OWN HIGH STANDARDS THAT THEY PIN ON ASPIRING MODELS. No matter what standard you can name (beautiful, unique, 5'9, good runway walk...) there will still be plenty of women who fit that description who are not and will not be models and there are many who don't fit that description who ARE models. Back to the issue of these uniqueness there are other ways to be unique and distinguish yourself rather than having a face that is "one of a kind" in terms of uniqueness. You can have a unique runway walk, some unique trademarks, be great at inspiring the camera, a unique personality...But overall, it largely comes down to being at the right place at the right time. There are several models that I don't find to be attractive OR unique in ANY shape form or fashion. I'm not going to mention any names on the general forum, because dissing them isn't the point and I'm not saying they are ugly hags anyway, but you can PM me if you want the names specifically. As to models, there are also models who aren't tall, models with a subpar runway walks, models who make the same face in almost every picture and even some models who's only distinguishing factor is that they are pretty. What they all have in common is that they were at the right place at the right time and fulfilled some sort of need for that particular time and place. For some their distinguishing factor is that they are unique looking, but it isn't manditory. You may simply fulfill a void in a certain area and be at the right place to capitalize on it. Right now, Asian models in fashion IS a void, IMO. But whatever the case, those that are or were "model material" had something that stuck when they were at the right place at the right time. But as to the question, I like her looks, she looks tall, and it appears that she has some sort of portfolio in her hands, so those are three things in her favor from where I'm sitting. But back to the issue of uniqueness and Asian models, Asian models are a minority anyway, so being the MOST unique looking Asian that can possibly be found is almost a moot point. We just need more from the minority groups of modeling in general, plain and simple. I wish her the best of luck.

  10. Pheno gave permission for me to post this question, so I wanted to address it to the general populous… This definitely was not a move I wanted to make. Originally I had decided to go with 32 overall contestants (8 per group) and assumed that that would suffice for all 3 celebrity groups. I then felt the need to stretch it out to 10 per group and it still wasn't enough for my original ambitions. The reason I originally pulled the actresses and singers is because I didn't think there was enough room for them to be represented adequately. I figured if the subject is a "natural beauty", it seemed like a crime to only have Monica Bellucci, Sophie Marceau, Angelina Jolie and not Charlize Theron, Natalie Portman, Halle Berry, Nicole Kidman, Catherine Zeta Jones, Gabrielle Union, Evangeline Lilly, Zhang Ziyi, Eva Mendes, Olivia Wilde, Ashley Judd...So at the time, I figured that if I can't represent the two other groups adequately, I'd just focus on one and do a separate competition for the others later. However, Pheno proposed the idea to make a Group 5 for celebs which sounds enticing to me. The only thing then I would have to think about is figuring out how the rounds go. Would we vote on one group per round or two groups per round? And would 50 contestants be too much for this competition? This is my first competitino of this sort, so any insight and opinion is welcome and appreciated .
  11. Very good opinion ! Thanks (Y) ! Yeah...I guess Poly will have to go then, unless someone is willing to trade their nomination for her in Group 1, of course. I love your speeches . I'll have to get back with you on the Kemp deal because I only know her by name, so I'm not sure what spot in what group she would be challenging for. I have 1 Tori pic (so we only would need 3 more) and I would love to have an American beauty in the mix . But if by some chance only one can fit and you prefer Kemp, I will honour your choice .

  16. Joe > Average replied to U.K.'s post in a topic in Babe Polls
Yamila is way more popular on BZ, so there's no way to get a fair assessment from the poll .
  17. Oh, no...It's not your fault. I was thinking maybe I should have just had everyone nominate one person, but at the time I think [or assumed] the idea was just everyone brainstorming to get this thing off the ground *deep sigh* . I guess there would have still been casualties anyway... So...as to the last Group 2 spot, how am I supposed to choose between Inguna and Natasha ? Which do you think best fits in with the Group 2 girls? Probably Natasha...Plus Inguna's fans haven't really responded to my advertisements and messages during this process anyway . Natasha it is (Y) . UPDATES So that leaves us basically awaiting Julia Stegner (Nemeside is on it and I'll search the link Layla gave me) Anne Wang from Hime (I Pink Couture has some. I'll ask her...)
