Thanks for sharing . Only there are many models Anja's age or younger (Miranda Kerr, even Selita ) in music videos . There's always been pretty and sexy singers and actresses, but the less talented, more eye candy oriented singers and celebs are indeed an obstacle for the models . On a Positive Note... And on the positive side, even if it won't be like it was, I think it is sometimes easy to overlook the pros for being a model today and that is it is easier for the least known to be more known now (to a degree because of the internet) than the past and its also easier to become a model now because more is accepted (what was once "ugly" is now "edgy" for example). Doors that were once shut in your face are now open wide even if you don't become a general household name. Only 3 Problems (for me) though. 1. This issue isn't something that only happened to the industry, but something it did to itself too. Once the "waif" era come on strong, many of the trends the industry were more and more alienating the mainstreem market and helped to estrange the industry from the mainstreem market. But the public, as they always do, moved on and adapted. This isn't to say being estranged from the mainstreem is terrible, but just to say that the decline of commercial acceptance was brought about by the industry itself moreso than anything else. 2. As much as I love them, many of these "excellent models" she refers to (many of the "edgy" high fashion models of our era) just aren't truly relatable and acceptible to the general mainstreem market (and absolutely wouldn't have been in the past). I'm always amazed to hear fans say Tanya or Sasha would have been "supers" in the past. Their full potential is realized today because this is the era built around their stregnths. But a supermodel by nature is someone both fashion and mainstreem industry can relate to. This includes for the most part too having looks not only women and fashion people appreciate, but also the average mainstreem man . To really break through to mainstreem noteriety one has to have mainstreem relatableness and appeal too, which a lot high fashion models today don't have and most of their fans don't want them to have for fear that they'll then turn to strictly commercial oriented modeling or "worse" persue non-modeling in general. 3. I don't want to offend their fans (I am a fan too), but the reality is English is the international language of the entertainment industry and if some of the top models of our era (some of the VS Brazilians for example) both spoke better English and were more relatable to the English speaking market they would be supermodels right now. Hence lies the conflict, the door would go through commercial and mainstreem appeal .

I just want to say...If you've heard it once, you've heard it a thousand times, "amazing bod, average face". Well, they may have average beauty, but not ugly and both have that special twinkle in their eye, that sincerity in the smile that you don't find in all said beauties. These girls take what they have and they make the best of it and that's what we all have to do in some shape or form in life. For Natural, Marisa FTW (whatever one thinks of her personal best, she doesn't really need makeup to achieve it) For Beauty, Marisa is more unique, though unique doesn't mean more beautiful necessarily (see "strange models" thread). She does have a better smile/teeth whereas some may say Brooklyn's bone scruture is softer, so I can see going either way. Brooklyn, though I always somewhat cringe when some of our fashion fan friends from various places break out the classic "she's every girl here" phrase, but admittedly, in every mall in America there's at least 30 Brooklyns [facially], but as I said all don't have that good pure, sincerity in the eyes . Yes, only stipulation being the score won't be counted if it changes the outcome (or else someone could say I rigged it ), but if it doesn't change the outcome its counted and commentary is always welcome in any case . Beauty - Charlize x2 - kills me, but I think Charlize is more striking if I didn't know them... Natural - Josie x1 - closer to her best without makeup.

I like many bodies....but I hate to say one type of body is "ideal" :/ . (this is not to criticize others doing it)
