8 9 I'm not sure whether its left up to interpretation or not , just is what it is . You don't think so, but prove the point anyway . The point was that its self evident that most people here prefer current models because current models are obviously more popular here (Chanel Iman has more pages and is more popular than Iman here, for example) just like high fashion is obviously more popular on tfs (Masha Tyelna is more popular than Petra Nemcova on tfs). Its the equivalent of someone on tfs saying they prefer high fashion or somone on Superior Pics saying they prefer big boobs, not saying its a bad thing to say (as neither eras are my personal favorite for different reasons), but I just couldn't ignore the irony .

I'll have to finish when I get home. Many lovely ladies, but I haven't seen almost any of their movies to factor in the talent portion and for the links I'll probably need pen and paper to remember which one is which, but BUMP for the meantime .

Of course I made this thread because I think it is in some shape or form doable (even if not on the same scale, can be much better than it is) and I want to make this a poll if I can narrow it down to 3-4 areas.... In the mean time... Best Candidates/Reasons for Hope (also, only thing standing in their way) Gisele - Basically done it actually. I think speaking better English would have made it unquestined (by getting her more speaking opportunities), but IMO she has done it. Laetitia Casta - Has basically done it as many people who aren't even into fashion know who she is and this is despite not having a model size or model height. So, whether you liker her or not I find that hopeful. Doutzen Kroes - She actually is a supermodel in her homeland. She has also overcome being short as well which is hopeful and her look is acceptible in both high fashion and commercial audiences. Everyone I know of whose met her says she's a nice person, but maybe because of a slight relatability gap to an international audience (based on the reactions to some of her interviews) may cause more speaking opportunities (on an international stage) in her case would probably do more harm than good (don't hate me ) or more good than one would expect, who knows ? Marisa Miller - No model since Cindy Crawford I don't think has had her combination of both relatability to an English speaking audience, man appeal, female relatability, charisma and communication skills. Not what many would call a "conventional beauty" for a commercial model and also not runway height, which is even more reason to hope because of what she is doing despite this. Emily Didonato - Her success in the commercial modeling world in this short span of her career is phenomenal and now a VS contract I believe. I think with maybe just a music video appearance in a hit song and a couple high profile speaking opportunities, she could surprise us. Candice Swanepoel - Simular to the last. Simular girl next door look, but better body and sexiness which would give her more man appeal (whereas Emily would probably be more relatable). A couple high profile videos, couple movie cameos and who knows ? Adriana Lima - IMO (no offense to fans and I am one), I think she actually would be, but I think a combination of a slight languabe barrier and some of the general public has always found her type of quikiness somewhat off putting (though charming) and just maybe makes her hard to understand to much of the general public. If it weren't for that barrier she would have had many more speaking opportunities, but based on the popularity she's had despite that, I think she would if not for that barrier. Alessandra Ambrossio - Not only kindof the same (language barrier and to some offputting qurkiness), but she has also turned down many opportunities that would have made her more famous because she loves modeling so much, but I can't fault that at all , go Ale . Gemma Ward - I call her my supermodel , but as I said commercial relatability and acceptability plays a huge role. I think people could relate to her but on the mainstreem acceptability side, the interpretations of her look are of course largely divided ranging from ugly alien, alien, gorgeous alien to gorgeous...but she is still very well known and was even on the cover ot Time Magazine and she'll always be my supermodel .
