I can understand that sentiment about her looks . I just like both in a different way, but then I'm an uber fan . As to the LadyGaga thing, I think its much more like Tina Turner by far. I don't know if you're familiar with her or not, but after she got free from her own domestic abuse relationship she wen through a much more simular transfurmation. Most likely done by both to portray themselves as being empowered and powerful rather than shock value only. Also, Gaga is far from the originator of this type of thing. There were techno singers dressing like this back in the 80s and 90s long before Gaga even came out and she herself admits her clothes were inspired by Freddie Mercury and David Bowie (though her ex boyfriend claims her name as well as gimmick was his idea). This isn't to mention she isn't the first even in her own generation. Christina, Roisin Murphy or Bjork did this before her as well and Cher and Patti Labelle's old group Labelle long before even Tina Turner did it. But in either case, I like the styles of both. I think Rihanna's was meant to be a more of a powerful sexy, wearable weird whereas Gaga's was meant to be more of a less shock value, sideshow weird .

You're right . I definitely understand a strong reaction to negative comments when you put in so much work as yap has and obviously everyone who views the thread has the option to post the type of new faces that they like. I see this conflict on all types of modeling and then to add to that, fashion fans are obviously split on many things even within fashion. Commercial models are called "boring" and "too commercial" while these girls are called "ugly" "scary" ect. I don't agree with either though I understand both. On one hand commercial is not overall as artistic as high fashion and to the average person many contemporary high fashion models are strange looking, but I still like them and don't think that makes them ugly . We try to give at least a little expressive freedom at least for initial shock (like for example on the opposite spectrtum this fashion fan seeing Denise Milani for the first time http://www.bellazon.com/main/index.php?sho...t&p=1137512 ). With these girls, I think it comes down to fear to a degree for some. Because they are all so young, those that don't like these kinds of models may have the subconscious fear that the kind of models they prefer will then soon be made obsolete as a result by the industry. Which is a pretty valid fear I would say, because the industry doesn't operate like music, movies ect. they by contrast change their trends based on their own tastes. But commercial and this brand of high fashion are so thorougly segregated (for lack of better term) now, there's no reason to think one is replacing the other, just "to each their own". I personally love both and hope that all can come together in the shared love of fashion despite the differences .

Great job as usual ! Revelation is relative I would say. Over here Carrie Underwood is huge partially because she is the most successful artist to come from American Idol (the most successful show over here). For me Katie Melua would be my personal revelation because I've never heard of her ever, but she's probably huge in Europe? Christina Millian is a C list star over here but is big in Cuba, so it depends on where you're from. If Carrie is a revelation to you that's good enough .

I did vote Beyonce based on looks only . I responded to a comment about talent, that doesn't mean I factor in talent . Even though she's not my favorite beauty, I thought Alsou was (with makeup) the most beautiful in the comp and I'd vote for her if she was here and she definitely wasn't the most talented. And I would have voted Cassie over Beyonce' and she's definitely one of the least talented. I never give extra points for talent :persuazn: ! Though the average voter will break the tie with talent if the looks are close .

Well, I've never been a fan of Natasha's body, regardless of size. And I honestly don't think she's 'beautiful' actually (I think she's 'cute' though) I love her for more so non-physical qualities and I think the other body is definitely better (and I voted Nikki for all 3), so I'm not asking you to change votes .

I cannot knock that sentiment, however this comp is about the happier times (whatever they may be for said person) . Now I'm not a fan either way, but I'm a fan of her . Which suddenly reminds me that I want to say something since the word skinny always comes up in relation to Natasha in comps. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ First off, I'm not saying anyone has to like her body. But I would like to take up her case on this skinny issue that seems to always come up in these things. I guess my judgement could be somewhat clouded because I'm a super fan. But as such, taking her case is my only means for atoning the betrayal of my votes and selling out to the wider grin and fuller lips and bosom . But Natasha is special to me because her personality, style and modeling won me over long ago and I just can't let her go . Admittedly as a southern ghetto boy, to me 98+% of models are 'skinny', so granted that word I guess means different things to different people. But that being said I don't think she was sickingly skinny. Not just because of the gusto and balance with which she slided down that confetied runway in those tall white boots, but it just wasn't that far. Granted too skinny for the liking of some is not debatable, so on to my real point. That point is I feel that because of peak "skinniness" Natasha has been unjustly branded with the a scarlet letter.... so even when she gets up to regular model 'skinny' it is often not acknowledged or discarded as a result. Even when she is the same size of many models never called 'skinny'. I as the merciful dictator of this thread asked for peak or prime form to be judged only because its the most fair to all. Is a 76 year old actress judged by her 70s or 20s, 30s...? Are the models with babies judged by their pregnancy months? Then why should Natasha forever be judged by peak skinniness? She's about as thick as the average model in those pics, so I say let her have that. To make a long story short... Free Natasha !!!!

I respect your right to not like her. But in terms of talent, Beyonce' has much more power and range (at least 3.5 octaves) than Amy Winehouse and has been writing music for over 10 years. But if you think Vanessa Hudgens is in a league with either in terms of talent... ...Vanessa can't sing an entire sentence on key, has a weak timbre and has no power or range. And I'm not knocking her for that as Cassie is the same and she's one of my favorites and my favorite (Rihanna's voice isn't stellar per se), its just reality the reality being that the quality and worth of others is not measured by how much we like them .
