I can understand that sentiment about her looks . I just like both in a different way, but then I'm an uber fan . As to the LadyGaga thing, I think its much more like Tina Turner by far. I don't know if you're familiar with her or not, but after she got free from her own domestic abuse relationship she wen through a much more simular transfurmation. Most likely done by both to portray themselves as being empowered and powerful rather than shock value only. Also, Gaga is far from the originator of this type of thing. There were techno singers dressing like this back in the 80s and 90s long before Gaga even came out and she herself admits her clothes were inspired by Freddie Mercury and David Bowie (though her ex boyfriend claims her name as well as gimmick was his idea). This isn't to mention she isn't the first even in her own generation. Christina, Roisin Murphy or Bjork did this before her as well and Cher and Patti Labelle's old group Labelle long before even Tina Turner did it. But in either case, I like the styles of both. I think Rihanna's was meant to be a more of a powerful sexy, wearable weird whereas Gaga's was meant to be more of a less shock value, sideshow weird .
