SympathysSilhouette, your points are well made, and have been taken on board - but I think you'll find that I had addressed them all in my post. I noted that, as you put it, administrators and moderators cannot be "omnipotent"; and I'm aware of the rules on nudity on this forum. I cannot vouch for others who may post on this thread - but I never knowingly posted any nudity. As the subject matter can be lewd, I was careful to avoid any such obvious images. I have collected plenty to post on this thread and have had to get rid of a great many of them previous to this debate. The one image that got edited by PinkCouture was a genuine mistake. If you have seen the image then I am sure you can see what I mean. As for the other - I am still unaware of the problem. But I notice that you did not respond to that part of my post... As for "personal feelings", I have stated that it is my intention to follow the rules - as I have done so far. I appreciate the rules. My concern was about the quick editing that happened in the wake of penny-dreaddful's reply. And yours_forever, of course you can comment on this. It is a forum, after all! I realise that PinkCouture is a popular and well liked member/admin. I knew that I wouldn't be winning any popularity contests in bringing this grievance up. My reasons for using those examples you said were "uncalled for" were simply to demonstrate my point. I did not name the member involved in the Movies issue, or even the particular thread - I simply wanted to show that 'bragging' about qualifications has little relevance to the argument. And that I would expect better from an administrator who has admonished somebody else for doing the same thing. The same goes for the "...Another Race?" thread. That turned into a slanging match - principally because one member implied something about another member. Like here. I do not know what prompted the editing of my post, and this thread in general. It would be nice to think that it was completely organic and coincidental to whatever was written in penny-dreaddful and PinkCouture's Personal Messages to each other. I just find it hard to believe that is so - forgive me if I'm wrong. I wonder if you have looked at the images I reposted? I know not everyone likes the nudity - but this is incredibly tame stuff (in regards to the first link), and seemingly absent in the second link. My point was that I hope this wasn't a knee-jerk reaction to penny-dreaddful's 'spirited' defence of me. And that's the point: What you all failed to mention in any of your replies was the actual issue. My particular "drama" stems from the fact that PinkCouture posted an elitist and entirely unprovoked rude 'comment' at the beginning of this thread. I know that in the great scheme of things it is pretty tame - but, as I've demonstrated by using those other examples, these 'comments' can grow entirely out of proportion and upset members. I'm not saying this did - I posted an unhappy acknowledgment of it and moved on - but penny_dreaddful brought it up again and she was right to. Those in an "upper echelon position" should be setting an example, and should be 'practicing what they preach'. What followed seemed to be a brusque edit and an easy, but maybe petty, 'Warning' slap on that member (and yes, I am aware of the 'nudity' law). My post, high-lighting this, may have gotten bogged down on the rights and wrongs of the edit - but it was still principally about the 'comment' that none of you saw fit to remonstrate. Either unmotivated, churlish comments are frowned upon or they are not - regardless of who used them. You see fit to lecture me, but have not sought to offer any thoughts on the initial transgression. Would your response have been different had I instigated a thoughtless remark on someone else's new thread - that was then taken up by other members into an argument? I had no problem with PinkCouture, indeed I'd had no previous interaction with her on this forum - which is why I found it odd that she would feel the need to post anything negative at all. The 'comment' might have been intended to be completely benign but, as I've said, these things can be misconstrued... She has 'apologised' - my concern was that this thread might suffer with the repercussions (hence my enquiries about 'nudity'). But you have only gotten involved now to support her, neatly side-stepping penny-dreaddful's (and mine) earlier grievance... How we handle all these things should bear no relation to how well respected and liked a member, moderator, or administrator is.
