I don't know why she doesn't just embrace the bombshell route and go with it, she's got a huge male following and females seem to like her also, if she just stayed at it and did plenty of shoots she'd be one of the biggest models out there. But i guess she'd rather get small roles in movies (ironically more than often as the 'hot girl' or a character based around looks) as well as be tabloid fodder who just turns up to random red carpet events.

I think people are more bemused with the fact she's marrying a dude she's only been with for weeks. And if she's so against doing things the traditional way why even get married at all. Like people have said we don't how she is as a person, but this just reeks of trying to make a big statement, when most people are just going to be like "okay, that's weird."

To be honest i think, like with the VS show these days, there's just too many models in the issue. It kind of takes the occasion away from everything and makes it feel less of an achievement for the girls who get in. So many names this year I was just like "who is this person?!"

Anyone else think SI kind of already did a fine job of having body 'diversity' already without this massively forced push for it? In issues past there were always girls who were on the more athletic and toned side along with girls who were more thick and bouncy (Kate U, Barbara). I think MJ has a deep resentment for models with the slim, amazing bodies cos she's a dumpy thing, I wouldn't be surprised if she's been unhappy in the past because of her own insecurities, which is why she's seemingly trying to cover for the insecurities of 'average' women with the inclusion of women who are just fundamentally overweight for what the magazine should be. I always thought SI was meant to be a celebration of the best of the best, an ideal that women could idolize and men could fantasize/gawk over.

I think they choose rookies partly based on popularity and following and just assume that those girls will win.

I really think it'd make sense for Barbara to get the cover. She's done really well building her brand back up over the past two years and her shoots have both been good so far, she has good popularity and both men and women seem to like her. I do think as someone else pointed out though they could do a multi-girl cover to really hammer home that sexy at any size cliche.

Seems to be quite a few models whose work has slowed up, and that they seem like they're not determined to work lots, maybe modelling isn't very fulfilling at all.
