She was trained from a young age by her athletic-oriented father to become a track-n-field athlete. As a result of her injury, Mo could no longer do high caliber sports. So her friends suggested she try out modeling. Her friends entered her in the ModelStar contest and she won. Shortly after, he moved to Beijing from the southern part of the Guangzhou province. She has an odd hybrid of southern and northern Chinese accent, so when she first moved Beijing she was constantly ripped-off by taxi drivers because they knew she wasn't from the city. Furthermore, she was allergic to the pollution in the air & developed skin rashes. She was 17 at the time, trying to make it on her own in Beijing. It was also that year her father died, leaving her to take care of her brother and ill mom. Cute Fact: She did not come from a wealthy family. As a child she loved music but her family could not afford a sound system, so she "borrowed" the echos passing from next door neighbor's karaoke set and sang along.
