The Political Correctness Haters' Club

On social media, you see far leftists often behaving like members of a sect. They always defend "the cause", no matter what. They just need to open an history book about China, Russia, Cambodia... and see the atrocities that were done there  in the name of "the cause".

Some people think "Oh, Trotsky would've done better than Stalin. He had his little glasses and was such a nice intellectual..."  Wrong: Trotsky was a butcher. As the leader of the red army, he massacred the Kronstadt sailors (whose crime were just to ask for elections). Such a "progressive" guy

Trotsky was no better than Stalin.

This is what they asked for... and this is why Trotsky massacred them.

The Petropavlovsk resolution :

1. Immediate new elections to the Soviets. The present Soviets no longer express the wishes
of the workers and peasants. The new elections should be by secret ballot, and should be
preceded by free electoral propaganda.
2. Freedom of speech and of the press for workers and peasants, for the Anarchists, and for
the Left Socialist parties.
3. The right of assembly, and freedom for trade union and peasant organisations.
4. The organisation, at the latest on 10th March 1921, of a Conference of non-Party workers,
solders and sailors of Petrograd, Kronstadt and the Petrograd District.
5. The liberation of all political prisoners of the Socialist parties, and of all imprisoned
workers and peasants, soldiers and sailors belonging to working class and peasant
organisations.
6. The election of a commission to look into the dossiers of all those detained in prisons and
concentration camps.
7. The abolition of all political sections in the armed forces. No political party should have
privileges for the propagation of its ideas, or receive State subsidies to this end. In the placeof the political sections various cultural groups should be set up, deriving resources from the
State.
8. The immediate abolition of the militia detachments set up between towns and countryside.
9. The equalisation of rations for all workers, except those engaged in dangerous or unhealthy
jobs.
10. The abolition of Party combat detachments in all military groups. The abolition of Party
guards in factories and enterprises. If guards are required, they should be nominated, taking
into account the views of the workers.
11. The granting to the peasants of freedom of action on their own soil, and of the right to
own cattle, provided they look after them themselves and do not employ hired labour.
12. We request that all military units and officer trainee groups associate themselves with this
resolution.
13. We demand that the Press give proper publicity to this resolution.
14. We demand the institution of mobile workers' control groups.
15. We demand that handicraft production be authorised provided it does not utilise wage
labour.

What did they get from Trotsky? Lead. He told them he'd shoot them like partridges.

Interesting how people who say "I'm not xxxx, but..." sometimes end up being exactly xxxx.

You're a shrewd guy, so you already know it.

Che Guevara was homophobic, racist, a torturer... There's no excuse. His nickname "the butcher of La Cabaña" illustrates how he tortured thousands of political opponents (in a typical far-leftist way). Many witnessed him laughing after torturing opponents.

This guy is despicable, but since he's a far-leftist, he still gets the love from many. Communism killed 50+ million people in the 20th century, but whatever...

This is hardly unique to the left. If you've ever been to Italy, you have almost certainly seen stalls selling Mussolini themed apparel/souvenirs.

The craziest thing I ever saw was a vendor selling flags, including one of MLK Jr. and one of Mussolini, displayed near each other. Talk about schizophrenic.

Ukraine launched what might be their biggest counterattack of the war so far.  Rumors is that the Kherson assault force is approx. 12,000 strong.  August 29-30.  So far it is appears to have costed them heavy losses but with some small (currently unconfirmed) gains on the outskirts of Kherson Oblast.  It will likely continue tomorrow.  There are Ukrainian forces massing at Izyum and at Kharkiv (Northern front), likely to be used as well.

There is footage of Ukrainian infantry and tanks advancing through open fields, or hedgerows and getting struck by Russian artillery and airstrikes.   The artillery strikes on individual tanks and infantry groups are precise and appear to be guided rounds or fire from helicopter gunships and aircraft.  This is more of the usual, where infantry and tanks are vulnerable to artillery in modern war.

The Russian military claimed this on 8/30.  the 1200 claimed Ukrainian human losses for the day is the highest the Russian MOD has ever claimed from what I've seen. :

The effective actions of the Russian group of troops destroyed 48 tanks, 46 infantry fighting vehicles, 37 other armored fighting vehicles, 8 pickups with large-caliber machine guns and more than 1200 Ukrainian servicemen during the day.

️ When repelling the enemy offensive, Russian troops defeated the units of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine transferred from western Ukraine to participate in the operation. Five members of the brigade laid down their arms and surrendered.

The thing with communism is that all these cruel gangster types seem to take over their movements.  There is a history book called "Young Stalin".  I have friends who read it and said that Stalin was actually a bank robber in his early career.

The offensive is still ongoing (9/1).  So far it has been no good for Ukraine.  The Russians are counterattacking the small breaches in the frontline. Ukraine prepared 2 months (July-August) for this offensive.

If Ukraine has no success in the coming days and only has high losses, they will terminate the offensive with a loss.  The Russians would then be ahead, and able to exploit this.

Stalin was a chicken thief... and also a paranoid bastard.:ninja:

Gangsters were common but the cruellest of all were often times the (pseudo) "intellectual" type. Like Trotsky. This guy was a complete asshole. Most of his lovers don't know his bio. This guy was a butcher, as the leader of the red army.

I go to Italy quite frequently (though not so much since Covid) and I don't remember seeing Mussolini's souvenirs:idk:

I see a lot of Godfather souvenir (and I'm annoyed to see ppl buying them)... but not Mussolini :ninja:

The thing with right wing extremism is that we have antibodies against it in the West. For left wing extremism, not so much, mostly due to the lack of historical knowledge about it (including in the educated part of the population).

If Stalin 'suspected' a conspirator, he immediately had them executed.   So the best way for an ambitious Soviet to get rid of his rival was to spread fake news on his enemy lol.

9/1 combat ended.  Ukraine launched a weaker attack and the Russians stepped up their counterattacks.  Another unsuccessful day for the Kherson offensive.  There may be more tomorrow.

A theory with evidence so far:

"Thus, the Armed Forces of Ukraine were lost:
tanks - 51;
BMP, APC and BRDM - 62;
other AFVs - 49;
artillery installations - 35.

This number is enough to staff one mechanized or two motorized infantry brigades.
Taking into account the fact that a significant part of the results of fire damage is practically not recorded, the real number of losses can be safely doubled.
In total, at least four combined-arms brigades lost equipment. Recall that before the start of the SVO there were 25 of them, and already in the course of hostilities about 10 were formed (not counting territorial defense).
In principle, if the current rate of fire damage continues, and the share of armored vehicles among supplies from the West continues to decline, then by winter 2/3 of the armed forces of Ukraine will actually be represented by infantry units."

The fourth day of the counteroffensive ended with a weaker attack and with few results. It remains to be seen if this is a 'long term' counteroffensive (a lot of weak attacks, expending their assault reserve including units pulled out from the frontline) against the Kherson bridgehead.

The Russian mod claim for 9/2 has dropped:

In just a day of fighting in this direction, the enemy lost 13 tanks, 19 infantry fighting vehicles, 12 other armored fighting vehicles, 11 pickups with large-caliber machine guns and more than 330 servicemen. Two militants were captured.

This ends Russian claims for August 29- September 2nd as : 2500 Ukrainian casualties, 94 tanks, 81 IFV, over 100 vehicles of different types, 4 aircraft, 3 helicopters. This is probably their largest claim of the war.

According to open sources so far it appears that the Russians are mainly defeating their attacks with artillery and counterattacks. But primarily the former. If the Ukrainians keep on attacking, without regard to their own losses, they might be able to recover a bit more terrain in the short-term. But probably not Kherson. There are too many Russian reserves south of the Dnipro.

The Ukrainians claim to have struck several Russian ammo dumps and one pontoon bridge. It is unclear to me what the Russian ammo situation is. 2 months of strikes against Russian ammo dumps with HIMARs etc has not seriously degraded Russian defense capabilities for 4 days of Ukrainian offensive. It looks like any Ukrainian success of significance would rely on a temporary shortage of Russian ammo, through expending it in defensive fire and loss from ammo dump strikes. This would require many more days of ruthless commitment.

Probably? staged footage in the Kherson Oblast frontline, appeared about 1-2 weeks ago.  Perhaps it is how the Russian defenders engage their opponent if they get close enough. The Russians are also known to perform a maneuver called 'feigned retreat'.  The ground forces pull back and create a salient-like perimeter around the attacking Ukrainians, using artillery and airpower to do the fighting.  Then after the Ukrainians had enough they retake the lost ground with the ground forces.
