The US is a kleptocracy with the population enjoying low credibility of the federal government & mainstream media.

Historically only about 60% of the electorate cares about politics enough to vote for the president, trust in the mainstream media is extremely low, about 30% according to polls.

Living standards for the poor and middle class have degraded every year while billionaires and the rich own most of the wealth in this country.  The poorly paid jobs, massive inflation and tax hikes since COVID-19 has been ruinous which is a key thing going against the Democrats. (among other lessor issues, like poor quality foreign policy)

The political positions taken by candidates are not based on 'real beliefs', but what their constituents (the people who pay them through corruption and campaign contributions, lobbying, saying things that people like to hear...) want.

But Trump is one of those rich, priviliged dudes... I don't understand at all why any voters have trust in this man making things better? I mean is he making things better for you guys in the US? All we hear in europe is that this man is a crazy dangerous racist misogynistic criminal.

‘The Apprentice' Producers Absolutely Want to Release Trump Film Before the Election

Another update on Ali Abassi’s “The Apprentice.”

It’s being reported that James Shani, who is one of the film’s producers, is leading a group to buy out Dan Snyder’s Kinematics stake in “The Apprentice”. They want to get rid of Snyder, who is blocking U.S. distribution, to release the film right before the 2024 election in November.

According to insiders, the producers are offering Snyder $7M to settle on an agreement. Upon settlement, the producers would then be able to speed up the pending deal agreement they have with Tom Ortenberg’s Briarcliff Entertainment for “wide release before the election.”

The film features a much-discussed scene where Trump rapes his former wife Ivana. Snyder wasn’t too thrilled about the scene. In May, Variety reported that Snyder, who is a friend of Trump’s, first saw a cut of the film in February and was absolutely furious. This didn’t stop the film from premiering at Cannes where it was met with, mostly, positive reviews.

According to her 1993 autobiography “Lost Tycoon,” Ivana made the rape accusation in a divorce court statement, but later clarified her earlier words, noting that she did not mean them in “a literal or criminal sense,” adding she “just felt violated” at the time.

Almost every Hollywood studio declined to distribute “The Apprentice,” but when producers finally thought they had secured an interested U.S. partner, Briarcliff, Snyder vetoed the deal. Whether Snyder agrees to this deal remains to be seen, but it is of the utmost importance for these ‘Apprentice’ producers to have the film shown right before the 2024 election …

Better to ask non extremist american(s) about this.

I hear what he is saying, but after what happened on Saturday, I don't see how he could lose. People love survival stories, regardless of the circumstances.

Whether his election will unite or divide the nation even further, remains to be seen.

Any chances this "attack" was a bizarre planned staging by Trump and his team?

Americans have historically voted with their wallet (a good example of this is George Bush Sr.) over all sorts of political noise, lies, & propaganda.

If they see themselves and people around them getting poorer they will vote out the candidate in the vast majority of instances.

The covid-19 fiasco and the resulting depression helped torpedo Trump in 2020.

Increasing energy supply & decreasing Oil & Gas prices has a material effect on the standard of living for the average person and decreases costs for businesses (which is why Oil & Gas support Trump and Trump works for them) improving economic performance.

In his first term Trump also did a mostly failed trade war with China, which was lip service but it did make it him look good among working people.  The US has a catastrophic trade deficit which has impoverished much of the population by denying them good paying jobs.

Trump was already winning before the debate.

The boy was shooting at around 150-125 meters away (so far it appears that he was using a rifle without a scope- just iron sights), he was trying to kill Trump, not graze his ear.  At that range Trump's upper body is just a speck..

So the shooter was far away enough and that badly equipped that his chances to do that man any harm was slim til non existing. I can only repeat myself how convenient lol

Why do rich Hollywood stars mostly vote for the democratic candidate (I know not all of them do, but I always feel like most do; at least I can't remember anyone campaigning for Bush or Trump lol). Is it just for PR and if so what for or are those political motivations sincere what do you think?

Still, I don't think it was "Travis Bickle".

There isn't much fodder for a left wing conspiracy theory though.

The area that Trump was visiting is the Pennsylvania big country filled with people who grew up with firearms.

It is still possible to shoot targets at 150 meters with iron sights, but it's not certain- which is why he missed.  But one shot almost hit.

The Secret Service snipers were much more capable shooters and equipped with far superior equipment- they quickly destroyed him after he fired.

From available evidence it seems that Crooks, who was a member of shooting club and was killed wearing a hunting shirt, heard of Trump coming to his neighborhood.     He violently hated Trump (like countless people do) and he decided to do the most important thing of his life.  Perhaps he thought that he was going to save America by killing him.

It should be noted that Pennsylvania is also filled with patriotic people who have fought in America's wars, and their death placards are everywhere in the state, permanently mounted on telephone poles.  This state has a traditional of military service and they have suffered some of the highest losses.

So Crooks, acting like a soldier, scoped out the place first, chose a place to perch on.  The Secret service was asleep and not protecting Trump sufficiently.

Other stuff on his background is that he was going to attend undergraduate college soon after earning his associates' degree, and was a good student.  An acquaintance also said that he was thinking about joining the military to finance his education.

Overall it appears that his scrawny, boyish appearance concealed someone who can suddenly act boldly and ruthlessly.  My theory is that he may have been completely delusional due to political propaganda but he acted like a natural soldier. This is what routinely occurs to men at war, if they believe in what they are fighting for.

How can they afford to be asleep? Especially when the person they are supposed to protect is hated by many people lol

"Travis Bickle", after all? Alright, your arguments sound convincing, but there's still some weirdness in all of this.

political demographics is a complicated issue but the most obvious thing is that:

1. If the area is rural is it most likely Red

2.  If the area is the suburbs they are swing voters/mixed red & blue

3. Cities are overwhelmingly Blue except for in some Red States

Hollywood is overwhelmingly Democrat as are the areas where they work.

The overwhelming majority of top 500 corporations, mainstream media (journalism industry), Entertainment industry, Technology companies, and 1,000 + Billionaires are Democrat affiliated.

The vast majority of the super-rich are Democrats. (associated with funding hollywood).

Finance is more mixed but with Democrat majority. Regular upper class Rich people are mixed Red vs Blue.  Mostly Blue in Blue states though.

Naturally the vast majority of TV shows & films are created by people with a Democratic party mentality and worldview.  Also a city person's mentality.

Trump sounds kind of tired in this (not surprising- he narrowly escaped death or becoming brain-dead)

looks like he is embracing the idea that God-Divine Providence saved his life (hence God will be with MAGA!)
