Bar Refaeli Is Sexy At Sea (EXCLUSIVE)

While at the Summit Series, GlobalGrind ran into Israeli-born Sports Illustrated model Bar Refaeli, who gladly shared with us her vision for the world's "next generation," the conflict in the Middle East and of course, her name check in Kanye West's song "Christian Dior Denim Flow."

Global Grind: What inspired you the most to take part in Summit Series?

Bar Rafaeli: What inspired me the most? Two things: a) the actual guys that created Summit Series. I know they are going to spend a lot of time with them in Israel and they look like next door neighbors, fun, cute kids. I didn't really think that what they say they do really happens and then you come here. You go through the Summit Series and and you're like "wow they created something unbelievable," they influenced the world, technology, health and business. It's also about giving back and bringing everyone together to inspire each other, which is amazing. The second reason was Shai Agassi, who I love and have listened to in Israel many times.

What are your hopes for our entire generation?

BR: Besides doing great things and changing the world and becoming green and all of these things that everyone is working for, to do it together and be brothers in it and not haters. And not be envious of other people's success, but inspire. I really believe that up there on the top there is room for a lot. To be encouraged to bring more people with you and help other people, share and do everything together. If you don't do that, there will be war between us and it does not matter how much you're going to change the world or do incredible things in every field possible. If we don't understand each other as human beings, we will kill each other. So, coming from Israel, I think that is the most important thing that I have seen we could do.

I have a good friend that plays in the NFL. He always says to me, ''When I die and rest, I don't want my gravestone to say football player.'' When you think of the work you do now; what is most important to you?

BR: Well, what I would want my gravestone to say is "wonderful mom and a good friend." That what I did and what I achieved or anything, that I was a simple person that touched others. But, regardless of what I would want it to say, what I really want to do even if people give me credit for it or not, is encourage people to give. Every business that I'm doing and if I'm a part of something and I even design a bikini, a part of it needs to go back. That is what I would want to people to remember me as, to know how to give back. If it's from your time or from your money.

More:

Being an Israeli and with the amount of change in the Middle East and Africa coming from young people, what are your hopes?

BR: My hopes?! I mean the biggest thing in Israel for me right now is Gilad Shalit, an Israeli solider. He is gone, he was kidnapped and he was gone for three or more years. I feel like religion is a big part of our society and accepting each other whether religious or not, or if you're semi or not. Whatever it is, it's just like understanding there is room for everyone, so we need to have a much better understanding of one another.

On another topic, hip-hop. How did you feel to get mentioned by Kanye in his "Christian Dior Denim" song?

BR: (Laughs) I have always had these little dreams to be mentioned in a book and to be mentioned in a song. In the same year, both happened! When I heard I was in his song, I was very excited! First, because I always wanted to be in one and second because it's Kanye!!! I think it's really cool! My friends from Israel were all super excited.

Kinda interesting article

Israel's top 10 models

2. Bar Refaeli: 5'7, born in 1985

The first Israeli model to appear in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue (2007), Refaeli started her career even younger than Ginzburg, at the age of eight months. By age 15, she was featured in ad campaigns including a commercial for the popular Israeli pudding snack, Milky. Crowned as Model of the Year in an Israeli beauty contest in 2000, she's been the cover girl for the French ELLE, Maxim and the Italian GQ.

Among the more recent credits of the model voted among FHM Magazine's 100 Sexiest Women in the World in 2008 and 2010, Refaeli became spokesperson for Garnier International in 2009. Perhaps best known as Leonardo DiCaprio's girlfriend, Refaeli co-starred in the Israeli TV series Pick Up in 2005; co-hosted Tommy Hilfiger Presents Ironic Iconic America in 2008; and hosted MTV's 2009 revival of House of Style. Now she is starring in a psychological thriller, Session.
