New York Governor Andrew Cuomo resigns in wake of harassment report

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-58164719

That guy admitted that he screwed up badly in the management of nursing homes during covid, with a very high toll, and he didn't resign for that... but as soon as he got accused by some women, then he had to go.

Norm Macdonald died of cancer, age 61...

A real comedic talent with comedic genius but unfortunately didn't make it big because of some bad choices in his career.   He was naturally witty and funny, and as good as Robin Williams in appearances.  He was certainly a lot more talented than a lot of late night hosts right now and was on that path post- SNL.

Scum of the earth live until they are 95 but Norm dies young..

Cuomo has pretty good taste in women though (:-p), as he selected potential girlfriends from his own staff.  What could go wrong?

While he made a terrible decision there overall New York, despite it being the epicenter of the virus, has been doing better than most states due to their more aggressive leadership and communication.  New York City's containment of the virus has proceeded better than  expected given how extremely crowded and populated it is.

Dr. Grande's video has him speculating that Cuomo saw himself as a hero (even had a ghost-written book published self-praising his leadership skills!!)  and wanted a hero's reward.

I don't know the specifics of his management of the crisis, so I can't really say, but from the studies I've read, it seems to be hard to compare Covid policies as it's multifactorial in its causes and the polices have cascades of consequences (not just on covid, but also on other physical health issues, mental health, socio-economics, delinquency, etc.)

Anyway, I'm sure he did think he made a great job, so the theory of this "Dr Grande" makes a lot of sense, he's probably right about that.

PS: the nursing home story is still shocking BTW.

Yea, it is also indicative as you say of how this story got swamped by the sexual harrassment drama.

Recently a vanlife couple is getting a lot of media coverage, it reminds me of the old Chris Rock/other black comedian routines in the 90s/00s about pretty white women getting kidnapped & getting press attention while other people don't get the help of the FBI..

looks like the Gabbie Petito case is nearing resolution if the "human remains" are Brian.

Enes Kanter blasts China’s human rights record, calling out leaders and athletes

That's what we used to call "having balls". Ten years ago, it was common, now it's heroic.

To be honest, outside of Kanter, the NBA's stance vs. China is laughably bad and incredibly cowardly.

I guess these guys' activism only goes as far as it doesn't hurt their pockets.

Will Smith is really trying to torpedo his career, first the cuck stuff and now suicidal?
