I understand that.

Mr Siemgi could have chosen his words better but I don't think it was meant to be racist. He's a man of few words lol :)

I usually don't get girls confused. Maybe if i look quickly I can get confused. But general people who don't follow the girls and VS like us get girls mixed up all the time. VS are idiots really how the hell did they get Jasmine confused with Arlenis? If they confused her with someone else in the show, fine it could be a mistake lol. But seriously they wrote a girls name who wasn't even casted in the show. Bunch of morons.

Agreed! Arlenis hasn't worked for them in a while either, so it's weird that they thought of her before Jasmine Tookes

I remember something like this happened to Joan Smalls. FashionTV show a clip of her at VSFS, but they said it was Selita Ebanks instead Joan. I don't think they look similar enough to get them mixed up buy apparently someone did.

The only part about the entire conversation that stands out is that the race card is thrown out there as soon as something disparaging is said about any of the "black/colored" models, but we can all bitch and moan until we're blue in the face about how all the blondes start to blend in to one another. I think the main point is that there are so many pictures now, and so much photoshop that all of the girls, brunette/blond, caucasian/black/asian that they all start to blend in to one another, regardless of what they actually look like.

Not to mention I believe I read somewhere that the guy who does the VS twitter is based in Ohio, and has a bit of a disconnect from the main hub, so the twits aren't always "spot" on. Point in case poor Jasmine morphing into Arlenis.

Besides, the user said "they all look alike" and the only thing that would come to anyone's mind is models of color mainly due to the fact that they're specific and the brand has very few models of color that they use on a regular basis.

What makes this statement so irritating, is that there's the assumption that it's only racist if it's in reference to a black/colored model, but if practically the same type of comments are made in reference to a caucasian model it's not. Hypocrisy at it's finest.

I missed that convo, but it's true, everyone is so sensitive when it comes to certain comments. it almost makes you wonder if they're that insecure about themselves or their race.

If you would have quoted everything I said, your final statement would have been proven invalid if not extremely idiotic. As I stated before, it annoys me when ANY model is compared. I even spoke up about the blondes being compared, so please explain to me where I was being a hypocrite in my argument (the very one you took a minor quote from). The "They all look alike" is racist because he didn't specify anything. Also, most VS officials are headquartered in Ohio. Ed, Kelli, Monica, everyone so I highly doubt he has a disconnect when everyone is right there.

So, before you get defensive and pull the "racial hypocrisy" card, go back and read  through the entire conversation as well as the replies and quoting the entire quote instead of the bits and pieces you think would fit with your arguement because you look not only ignorant with jumping on the one statement that would boost your arguement, but it also proves that you didn't take in anything that I said.

If you can't do that, your comment is proven unnecessary honestly. We were already past it and speaking on the matter of how VS (whoever is in charge) could mistake their own models.

Oh I read your statement and I still find it incredibly hypocritical. You can state that you're defending the blondes in their diversity, but the point remains you haven't said a damn thing in defense of them until the black racial card was played and you were called out on it. So yes I will state hypocrisy, because regardless of the rest of your statement that line right there was nothing more then  hypocritical bullshit, regardless of how you wanna play it.

cant wait to see the show in motion!

So, while pointing your finger at me for being racist for saying a racist comment is racsit, you fail to acknowledge my statement about Sigrid, Martha, and Lindsay being compared and yet looking nothing alike. I'm not going to argue with you over a point you are blatantly looking over, especially since you obviously don't care about the point I made. Other people agree, what he said sounded off and particularly offending to people, and, since you are obviously not reading my first statement I'll gladly quote it for you.

Sigrid looks nothing like Martha, and neither of those two look anything like Lindsay. All of them have different facial features as well as body builds, so it would take a blind individual to actually think they seem alike. The only blondes that are even compareable as looking similar would be Lindsay and Elsa because they both have thin noses, they're blonde, and they have big blue doe-eyes... and those two are still a stretch.

I've also stated that it annoys me when ANY model is compared, yet you only want to focus on the one paragraph I wrote (about the same length as the paragraph depicted above) on how it is understandable to mistaken maybe Lais/Jasmine or Emanuela/Gracie, but it's just going by skin color if you compare Jasmine/Arlenis and say "they all look the same".

Your hypocrisy is showing, mainly because you attack me for being a so called hypocrite when I disapprove saying blondes/models of colors being told they look alike while never getting mad at anyone else to says the opposite about blondes. It's extremely stupid, honestly. I get it, you're getting defensive; however, why get defensive now? Why attack me of all people when I pointed out something? You didn't say anything about anyone else saying it sounded off, you don't say anything when people compare blondes, and, yet, you're going off on me right now when I was saying that models of color AND BLONDE MODELS shouldn't be compared based solely on an attribute like their skin or their hair.

If you're going to get mad at someone, you should probably make sure you get mad at not just one source and start talking to every source, and since you're so quick to jump on me because I was defensive about his statement, then why don't you say something to people about comparing blonde models or brunette models or Asian models.

Every model gets compared to someone with the same hair or ethnicity as them, and it's not only annoying -as I've stated at least two times before- but it's pitiful because people fail to realize that things like that don't do anything but prove that we look over facial features, bone structure, and body build to look at something so trivial as hair/race.

So, yes, his statement was offensive and came off as racist because he didn't specify what he meant. Yes, it frustrating having blondes as different at Lindsay and Doutzen being compared on a daily basis as if it's casual conversation. Yes, it's annoying seeing people pull the race card at INAPPROPRIATE times; however, I've obviously spoken out against comparing anyone with the same hair/ethnicity while you've done nothing but complain about someone saying somethin gabout it and then trying to condemn the person for speaking out against it.

If you hate it when someone compares blondes and you get tired of it, speak out about it and point out why it's wrong. I've spoken out about it, which you over looked, and me and the individual discussing it moved on to talking about how the worker didn't even know the models of the company he worked for. If you're going to do nothing but attack and place blame instead of providing sufficient evidence along with a good arguement to back it up, then the conversation is over and I honestly have no more reason to humor you with an ongoing debate on your false accusations of me doing wrong..

That's so embarrassing... :/

So, while pointing your finger at me for being racist for saying a racist comment is racsit, you fail to acknowledge my statement about Sigrid, Martha, and Lindsay being compared and yet looking nothing alike. First of all I wont agree with the statement being racist, however the reason people jump on the band wagon and do agree has less to do with actually believing it to be racist, and more to do with being politically correct and trying to defuse the situation.

Like I said, I read your entire statement I chose to disregard it because most of it was irrelevant or seemed to be nothing more then some misguided attempt to make the rest of the statement be more acceptable.

That's great, fine and dandy you can very well think it's horrible to compare models, but it's subjective, and people will continue to do so. I don't care how many models you compare, or don't compare, the point remains you only jumped in when two black models were being compared, and all of a sudden because it was two models of "color" the statement was racist, while earlier in the thread no one felt this overwhelming need to throw that gauntlet down when caucasion models were being compared.

Your hypocrisy is showing, mainly because you attack me for being a so called hypocrite when I disapprove saying blondes/models of colors being told they look alike while never getting mad at anyone else to says the opposite about blondes. In reiteration I don't care who is compared with who, or why they're compared, beauty is subjective, as is what I think looks similar and what I don't. So while I may think for instance Gracie and Emanuela look similar you may very well disagree as is your prerogative, but don't bitch because I'm being racist is saying so if you're not going to bitch when I say Alessandra and Izabel look alike, or Candice and Martha look like alike too.

Again it's subjective, but it doesn't make someone racist.

You've spoken out now that two black models were compared. I commend you for being expansive in your defense of these models, but again you didn't jump in on the defense of the blondes until Arlenis and Jasmine were compared. So while it's great that you're defending them now, using that as an argument to show how liberal you are falls a little flat in regards to the lateness of that defense.

Again, reiterating I don't care who's compared, but it doesn't make you racist to compare two girls regardless of their skin tone, hair color or eye color.

Btw, Siemgi, thank you for bringing a certain lightness to the VS thread - and poor Magda, I mean they couldn't just bleach the underwear between takes and blow dry it? I mean that looks like dry old blood. There is no way they couldn't have noticed that between the two shows.

She couldn't use a tampon in addition to the pantyliner to protect the panty???

I agree!

And, doesn't VS have flesh colored panties they use under their lingerie anyway?

As said before, I'm done talking about it. Obviously you don't agree and either you don't see it from my perspective or you're extremely closed minded; however, I refuse to keep this going. If you want to keep talking about it, I will gladly respond to messages. Whether people were "jumping on the bandwagon" or simply agreeing with me doesn't matter, and obviously due to my low post number you can tell that I'm fairly a fairly new member to Bellazon so "forgive me" for not defending comparisons before hand. To each their own, and you go about your beliefs as you wish while I will still say that I believe what was said was rather racist but Kervork89 did make a valid point by stating the user simply could have had a moment of bad wording.

What was said was offensive to ME, since, stereortypically, "all black people look the same" and the way he phrased it using the "all" instead of a more specific word if he was talking about models as a whole took it to a deeper level than he could have intended. But, obviously you'll defend the statement until you're exhausted and you'll attempt to prove my statements false with every ounce of your being. So, so be it. Believe what you wish, but that doesn't take away that I was offended as a person and I was annoyed as a fan of models and VS. The point of the matter is, people can have an opinion all they want, but when it comes to bashing people it takes on a different level of things.

So, as stated many times before, I'm done and if you wish to continue you know how to message me. If not, there's no need to respond.

 Obviously you don't agree and either you don't see it from my perspective or you're extremely closed minded;

Out of that entire statement I think this is where I got stuck. So either I have to agree with you, or I'm close minded? Pot calling kettle black dontcha think? I've said hypocricy to many times, but goddamn should just not bother having an opinion??

Btw goodbye Georgia hello North America?

lmao - merc out!
