I think she would probably be a Bond girl in a heartbeat since Doutzen has talked about that before. I definitely think she's just being more cautious about dabbling into it. I watched her scenes in Nova Zembla and I thought she did ok, they just made her more of the typical love interest type. I do think she does projects a certain aura in motion and her Reveal commercial with Charlie Hunnam showed she can do decent on-screen chemistry. yes she didn't do too bad, but not really good. you probably don't speak or understand Dutch, but in my own language it sounds much worse. She she talked about the fact she played a beautiful doll in this movie and hoped to play someone 'ugly', and she really admires Charlize Theron in Monster. I didn't know she had that much offers, but perhaps she wasn't ready yet for acting back in the time. And I don't think they were really quality scripts. She is still doing HF a lot isn't she?She probably wants to first work on her acting and then hope she get substantial roles. She did say she isn't good enough yet for the really good movies, and has to work on that before she offers herself as an actrice to producers. I think all the supermodels want to be a Bond girl but it never happens. I have my own little theory about why they don't pick supermodels for Bond girls. One of the most expensive Dutch movies ever made and very succesfull in the cinema over 900.000 visitors which is A LOT in Holland! Almost 17 million people living in Holland. Everybody went to the cinema just to see Doutzen (no joke).She did very well actually. All Dutch newspapers were very surprised by her acting talent and they praised her. But now after rewatching it, I realize the man she falls in love with in the movie speaks even more monotonously than her. It's just the whole script is boring, the scenes are too long and boring, the sentences are worthless, the music sucked and the whole movie is so bad, it makes it more difficult for a beginning actrice.Doutzen is actually the better actrice in the whole. Damn another thing that's so perfect about her. I guess it was a smart choice of Reinout Oerlemans the producer to take her, because it saved his shitty movie. Btw I guess as a model you have to already have SOME acting talent because you are basicly constantly playing roles in front of the camera. I just thought she did ok, served her purpose but they made her more of a plot device love interest (blame that director/writer more than anything). She did have a resurgence with HF recently but I'm talking about before she was a VS Angel/L'Oreal. Like breaking out in 2004/2005 runway and campaign seasons, working constantly with the likes of Meisel and Testino. Actually models were pretty much the go to castings in terms of nabbing Bond Girls, the only setback was they didn't pay well and most models can earn much more money doing their day job. Recent years have turned around yes, they've gotten actresses but some have started out as models before their acting careers. They'd probably would hire one for the look/story and contract terms. Sorry, I didn't completely understand your last 2 sentences, it's a language barrier. Do you mean that in Bond movies they mainly casted models to play Bond girls and nowadays they cast more actresses, who may have started their career as models?Or did you completely mean something else. Many actresses they have hired in the past were either models or or actresses who used to model. For example, Olga Kurylenko has been an actress with various projects before Quantum of Solace, but she was originally a model. Actors of today don't make the same kind of money like they used to for just film alone (tho still stinking rich). They have to go to PR events as such appearance fees and endorsement contracts. I think people who don't know much about fashion or de modelling industry or never watch VS, wouldn't have recognised her.The reason for instance why Adriana Lima woudn't be chosen is because her fame is too big and would dominate the movie problably. Adriana is well known for a lot of commercials, and the producers don't want that viewers of a Bond movie get these associations with lets say a Victoria Secret commercial. She is almost an whole movie on ther one, and could create problems perhaps in a Bond movie, The models have to fit in the story so lot of the time choose less known, or upcoming models or actresses. And if they really go for a famous actress, she really has to have the Bond look. And if they choose a very famous supermodel like for instance Giselle, Adriana or Doutzen, the role would be really minor, like what Alessandra did. They are the pretty face that walks by, or the seductive woman in a casino. It would be pretty awesome if they would choose them. By the way I thought Giselle was pretty funny in the movie The Devil Wears Prada. They don't mind hiring models, indeed Olga K modelled, Femke Janssen modelled, Eva Green and Caterina Murino modelled. Almost all the Bond girls modelled. That's no surprise because they have to be super beautiful and sexy. But to have a bigger role as Bond girl, like what Eva Green did, they have to really have acting talent AND to have a specific Bond girl look. Bond girl don't have to look like supermodels, there are different requirements for that. Last I wanted to say that it's also about a voice of the model or actress. Doutzen, no matter how sexy she is, she doesn't have a very sexy voice. Her voice is sweet and innocent and sounds more girlish. Please correct me about my theory if I'm wrong.I know this hasn't always been the case, but I am also not a fan of all the Bond movies. I think Casino Royale was very good, and the last movie. LOL, no she wouldn't. Let's not overblow things here. She's definitely one of the most recognizable models but to imply she isn't cast for movies because she would be a distraction is a bit too much. You have to remember though modelling is a lot tougher than acting since with modelling you have to portray the emotion solely through face, posture, etc, with acting you can use words and movement. Only in the beginning of her career (2004/2005/2006) she closed her mouth and having captivating eye connection with the camera.Since 2007 she started to have 1 look ...
