September 19, 200816 yr Haha prolly someone posted that after it was ME who mentioned in that 'pure stupidity thread' how some 'lima fans' ( i wont name them but the observant people will get it) dismiss Marisas high ratings at askmen and blackmouth her- LMAO, people need to get a life, seriously. Not all Marisa fans are dying to downrate Lima, come on ! ( I for instance even like Lima too) LOL And if she has higher ratings well just take it as a fact but I guess some fans are not grown up enough :yuckky: , so whatever. I post on tfs more often then here and I try to keep Marisas thread up and busy there, too bad she is not appreciated the way she should !!! Also, she is so versatile , why doesnt she have more eds ( like the one in Malibu mag - she looked so different and editorial there) ??? Im sure she can pull off edgy high fashion stuff juuuuuuuuuuuuust greatly ! But nah, I feel sad that she is being perceived mostly like 'swimsuit model' or 'commercial' I mean its cool too and all but she can do so much more - speaking not as a fan here. Okay, Im done with my little rant. PS. Im glad Im at tfs now - when the time for VSFS 2008 comes at least there will be people who can stand up for her in case when everyone starts picking on her for 'walk' and 'boobs' and all that stuff.

September 19, 200816 yr thanks for pics PC & Julia!and guys don't take it to offense, it seems most of the die hard Lima fans, hate just about every model if it's not Lima herself. <_<
September 19, 200816 yr Thanks for the pics, Pink & Julia! It's good to see so many new VS pics (finally). If 15 minutes of fame = an amazing year then okay. This has been such a great year for her. Forget just this year! She's SI's most popular model of the decade -- what other model has gotten her own "Best of" calendar? -- and always has been VS's second most popular model, as I showed in that Google Trends thread. Haha prolly someone posted that after it was ME who mentioned in that 'pure stupidity thread' how some 'lima fans' ( i wont name them but the observant people will get it) dismiss Marisas high ratings at askmen and blackmouth her- LMAO, people need to get a life, seriously. Yeah, I originally said in my last post that it was no surprise the tFS member doing the bashing was a Lima fan, but I edited it, thinking Pinkie would delete the post. And don't bother with people dismissing Marisa as "commercial." That's just what high fashion fans do to feel better about no one caring about their fugly no-name favorites who'll be forgotten in a season or two.
September 19, 200816 yr Yeah, I originally said in my last post that it was no surprise the tFS member doing the bashing was a Lima fan, but I edited it, thinking Pinkie would delete the post. Yes it was lol 'Surprise!' Okay, not all 'fans are the same' but still... And don't bother with people dismissing Marisa as "commercial." That's just what high fashion fans do to feel better about no one caring about their fugly no-name favorites who'll be forgotten in a season or two. Most HF models cant pull of being commercial at the same time as well, Marisa can do both with her strong interesting and yes, gorgeous, face ! The more unique the face is the more interesting HF editorials one can get...Oh well. Also, whats funny is how some people who think they know it all about fashion forget that fashion is not only Haut Couture but yep, 'commercial models' are a huge part of fashion too. Well, definite models attract definite type of fans....I have never seen a Marisa fan bashing any other model. Never.
September 19, 200816 yr Why can't we all get along!?! I have never seen a Marisa fan bashing any other model. Never. Well, I bashed Gisele once, but that was only because an really obnoxious Gisele-fan was badgering people in the Babe Polls about Alessandra being cross-eyed. And thanks again for the pics!
September 19, 200816 yr I went citation diving the other day for Wikipedia and came across this May 2000 article, which means it's pre-VS, pre-SI, and even pre-Testino! Not only is it the only article I've ever read that confirms her marriage to Jim Miller, but it also says she modeled for Guess?, Frederick's of Hollywood, Pepsi, Panasonic, and Sun Microsystems! Santa Cruz native reveals the makeup of a media imageby Peggy Townsend "Awesome abs, arms, butt & legs," reads the headline next to the picture of Marisa Miller on the May cover of Shape magazine. There’s no reason to argue with the words when you see the photo of Miller standing in the warm blue waters of Baja California, her red bikini framing her "awesome" body just right. But Miller, a Santa Cruz County native, says people -- especially teen-age girls -- shouldn’t believe everything they see. "What you don’t see is how many people were there to make you look that way," says Miller in a telephone interview from New York. "It’s not always reality." What people don’t see are the hairstylist and the makeup artist who worked for an hour to make her just look right. They don’t see the oil that was spritzed over Miller’s body to give her muscles more definition or the lights that gleam like a hundred suns. It’s all part of the illusion that the media relies on, but it bothers Miller when teen-age girls take the photos as reality and starve themselves to get that lean, muscled look. "Every girl should feel comfortable with whatever size they are and be healthy," Miller says. "I think it’s terrible the way teen-age girls diet." Miller says she doesn’t starve herself to get that perfectly photogenic body. "A lot of it is genes," says Miller of her 5-foot-10 and 110 pound frame. "I’m naturally thin." She eats healthy foods, does sit-ups, Yoga and stretches, but that’s about it. "A majority of models do not have eating disorders," she says. "Most of them are just naturally thin." Miller, who went to Monte Vista Christian High School, was discovered the Lana Turner way. Walking through a San Francisco cafe when she was 16, Miller was spotted by two modeling agents from Italy. "They came up and asked me if I ever thought about being a model," says Miller, now 21. "I was like, ‘Well I’ll have to ask my parents.’ " A few months later, Miller was on her way to Italy with her mom and has never looked back. She’s modeled for Guess and Airwalk, Pepsi and Panasonic, and she may be off to model for Australian Vogue. She’s even appeared in a couple of Frederick’s of Hollywood ads. It’s a good profession, says Miller. Modeling gives her flexible hours and an income that’s approaching six figures. "It’s a great job to have at 21," says Miller, who’s married to Jim Miller, a Los Angeles surf contest promoter and lifeguard. Her parents, Marc and Krista Bertetta, still live in Corralitos. But modeling is not always a bed of roses. For her recent Sun Microsystems commercial, Miller had to dive into a 50-degree swimming pool on a February night and glide across the pool underwater. She dove once. Then again and again until the cameras got just what they wanted. She left with such bad hypothermia, she got lost three times driving home. "A lot of times people forget you’re human, and you’ll do shots in freezing cold water and snow," she says. "There’s a lot of pressure on you." Link
September 19, 200816 yr OMG, I just read this rant of pure stupidity on tFS about (among many things) how Marisa's recent success is all just her 15 minutes of fame, that she can't get press without it being bought, that she's a fake Angel, and that she has a lisp. haha oh god... Retards.
