It's like when animals (including humans) see a danger: we either run, attack or freeze. Running or attacking make sense, but what kind of a lame reflex is "freezing"??? Apparently, it helps in some situations, but that's mostly a lame reflex for humans... it's definitely not a helpful heritage from nature.

Have you tried a "training interview" before going to a real one? (I mean going to a company you don't care about and doing a "low stakes" interview  with them, then you go to the real one) Sometimes, it helps.
