Petrol shortage in France in the last days...

... meanwhile in the Parisian suburbs, youngsters requisition a petrol station. They then sell the fuel only to people from their area, block access to others, and stone those who protest.

We've got hand it to them. These guys recreated a country, borders and a police to manage scarce resources :rofl:

Nature abhors a vacuum.

I'm up to the most recent episodes for both of them.

I think both shows are underwhelming but I slightly prefer Rings of Power.

Last episode of House was good, mostly thanks to Paddy Considine's epic performance in it.

Of the newish shows I am watching, my favorite currently is actually Andor.

I haven't watched Andor at all, given that nothing with Disney Star Wars has been very good.  (Rogue one was maybe a 7.5 out of 10 for me)

yeah I heard that Paddy was amazing, and I saw some bits of the episode.  Overall he deserves an Emmy.

GRRM raved about him on his blog:

Not a Blog | George R.R. Martin (georgerrmartin.com)

He also revealed that their plan for HOD is 40 episodes, 4 seasons.

Andor is great and if you enjoyed Rogue One, you'd probably also enjoy this.

I graduated from NYU.  The student body is crazy and fun, but also ultra liberal.

You graduated under Giuliani's NYC and Bush's USA, right? At the time, the liberals were a counter-weight.

Nowadays, ultra liberals have become the inquisition (not the counter culture anymore).

They even burn books in the name of their cult (here) :Amelie_wft:

I hear only positive feedbacks from this show.

I have to admit it starts to really catch my interest now.

Still not fully on board. Paddy Considine's Viserys was the best thing about the show. Wondering how they will cope without him.

Collectively GoT had many, many more interesting characters than House of the Dragon does. Perhaps it was foolish to think they could make so many compelling characters twice.

Like it's clear we are meant to care deeply about Raenyra, but the show has never given us good enough reasons to do so?

Whereas people all loved Arya after just the first season of GoT. Admittedly it took longer for Sansa to get fans.

The excellence of GOT has so much to do with the writing in the novels and literally the fact that they casted around 20 iconic actors.  I am starting Clash of  Kings now.

IIRC for S1 the main characters were Jon Snow, Eddard Stark, Cat Stark, King Rob, Arya, Sansa and Tyrion with some Cersei and Jaime.

And of course, Dany, Jorah, and Drogo.

I am watching the Sauron reveal.

Rings of Power has terrible writing.  Worse than the netflix witcher, jesus christ.

Yeah, unfortunately. Beautiful show to look at but the writing leaves a lot to be desired.

I was expecting it. I didn't like it, but if they hadn't done it than they would have spent a lot of unnecessary time on Halbrand. So it was a bit predictable.
