maybe if this goes long enough, people will lose weight and look more like this:

I've already lost some weight too

Well now is the perfect time for a hard reset personally and as an American society on a lot of things and I'm very optimistic on some needed changes, but likely we'll be back to fighting with each other over dumb shit in no time.

Politics is 90% retarded anyway.

Overall this short term economic collapse is worse than any moment in the great depression and great recession if my memory serves.

It's a lot of Monday morning quarterbacking mostly on the national scale, but it's also the quest for riches and power.

You think we borrowed big time from ourselves in the future and devalued the dollar through inflation? :idk:

no, in terms of job loss and drop in activity due to shattered consumer confidence and employment.  There was no dip like this past month in US history over the past hundred years

Great news out of North Korea, they have announced they have had zero cases of the virus.

Cause they killed all the infected people.

It would be helpful if there was a way to know the actual number of people who have been infected, but that's not possible for many reasons.

It surely varies from country to country: testing capacity, reliability of the sources and more factors.

But at least here a safe bet would be 10x the official number.

I remembered your 10x number when I looked at Brazil's numbers today. I remember thinking I hope that big a number is accurate because I was worried it was smaller.

Brazil currently says they have 6000+ confirmed cases and 60000+ suspected cases which is 10x. The actual number of infected people in Brazil is even higher so that could mean 15x or even 20x.

All that makes me a little hopeful because the more people who are infected but have no symptoms or don't feel bad enough to go to the doctor is better, like a lower death rate and a higher chance of herd immunity.

Sounds likely. Reminds me of how in the movie World War Z a CIA agent explains that when N Korea realized there was a problem with zombies, they removed all the teeth of everyone in the country. It sounded like something they would do.

I'd say that in Brazil's case you'd have to use a bigger factor than 10x, since they're testing less than us.
The x15 or even x20 you mention may be more accurate.

In the US, one governor says I didn't know it could be spread by someone without symptoms until yesterday. At least one governor says stay at home and no group gatherings, but you can still go to church.

wow

It's like get with the times by doing it on Skype/FaceTime or just record masses on YouTube and mass email the links out. :idk:

They still need those in person donations.

Contagion and Outbreak are apparently popular right now.

I don't want to watch either, Contagion especially seems really similar to what is happening now.   :no2:

I'm sure the churches lose money without the people there in person, but the government needs to do the right thing like they have done with businesses.

If the people think church will protect them from getting sick, I'm sure they can believe church will survive any money problems.
