I might have gotten a bit carried away here but, since we're talking about one of the most lusted for and appreciated British male models, I suppose you'll let it slip just this once, won't you? Andrew Cooper would be the best example of the grave injustice that is being done to male pin-ups all over the world: quoted among the first ten male models on an international scale and with so many shows and photo shoots under his belt so as to make even a female model green with envy, very little is known about this hunk of a man also called Andy. Then again, there is also a bright side to this: given the lack of info, one can always assume what one wants about him, right? Like, that he likes to read Victorian novels and take long walks in the moonlit park... And that he secretly dreams of meeting his better half, who could be any one of us ladies...

Anyways, that's just wishful thinking. Born in England in 1981, Andrew initially wanted to be a singer. Caught up in the whole boy/girl bands madness that engulfed the entire planet in the nineties, Andrew signed a contract with none other than the founder of one of the biggest English boy bands in history, Take That. Nigel Martin Smith not only backed up Andrew, but he also helped him make his first dive into the crazy music world. In 1998, after heavy promotion, the aspiring singer, debuts his first single, 'I Feel Something' (how very boy-band-ish is that?!), at a fashion show. And then... nothing much was heard about Andrew's attempts at forging a name for himself as the man with the voice, as saying goes.

What we do know instead is that, in 2003, Andrew resurfaces again, now presumably no longer backed by a music manager but by a reputed models agency, and agrees to do the cover of 'Wallpaper', an all-purposes magazine, including topics on fashion, fitness, architecture and interior design. Suffice it to say that, because of the photo of hunky Andrew sweatily hugging a punching bag, that specific number of the magazine became the one that sold better than all previous ones - a position it still maintains today, exactly four years later. A couple of months after that, Andrew, this British lad who seemed to be halfway modeling standards and every woman's idea of perfect man (ladies can't deny that male models are sometimes too effeminate and 'artificial' for their general taste, can they?), was already in all the major Dolce & Gabbana ads, thus slowly turning into the man of the hour in the world of fashion.

Since then, Andrew has been featured in several huge campaigns, like the ones for Giorgio Armani, Emporio Armani, Calvin Klein, Swatch and Tommy Hilfiger, but also in many television commercials, like the one he did with Claudia Schiffer for L'Oréal. Add to that a multitude of catwalk shows and an incredible large number of magazine shoots (mostly with him shirtless - which can only mean one thing: yum!) and you see why fashionistas all over the world and specialized fashion magazines claim this particular model is not going anywhere anytime soon. With his brown hair, piercing blue eyes and trademark lips (at least, that's what he says is his trademark, which would somehow explain the heavy make-up that usually goes into making them look so... pluckable!), this particular model might not be quite all the time in the spotlight, but one thing is certain about him: you won't be able to say that he's here today and gone tomorrow!

Thanks for sharing that Titia...i have read that on that site a while back and i believe it's as accurate as it can be, but it mentioned AC wanting to meet his better half....hmmmm, AC has been married to Jane for over a year now...that article was posted in Oct 2007....he was already married at the time....he and jane opened their pet boutique in 2006...i read that he and she were already married when they opened it....but i LOVE the part that he loves to read Victorian novels oh that's priceless Thanks again, Titia, for sharing!!

oh, Balflear, u haven't checked out the previous posts ....i've mentioned, as did loads of others, that he's married to a lass named Jane....they both own the Mutz Nutz pet boutique in Notting Hill but thanks for posting that old pic of him in a Dolce and Gabbana ad.... it's a great shot of him
