He wouldn't have been the person I would have selected, but , I hope, he works out. Personally ,for me, he can't do a worse job than James Franco did last year.

I find it funny that in most of the sightings of him in clubs and such he seems to be glued to his phone... but I guess he's enjoying the environment in his own discreet way PLUS i'm sure he's well aware that eyes are watching and these days the media will be more eager to turn a little thing into something big.

I also you feel you on the whole Ryan Gosling thing. He's a good actor and everything no doubt about it but I just hate him stealing the spotlight from Leo plain and simple lol. Same with Clooney ... but in his case I think he's overrated and at times I think his "connections" really give him a boost

Not A Eddie Murphy fan at all.. seems like a random choice. Eddie seems kind of irrelevent these days and not to mention his comedy routines have been going downhill in my opinion. So i'm a NO on that one

I don't like James Franco - he seems a bit arrogant and comes off like he thinks he's such an "ARTIST". But he's a good actor.

I 'm not too thrilled about Eddie Murphy as the host. I wish they bring back Ellen DeGeneres or Billy Crystal.

I'm not sure about the exec producer. I thought his production co. Appian Way had something to do with that movie tho - and he was first considered to play Gosling's part but dropped out to do J Edgar instead

Yes, at one time Leo was going to star in the movie, do the part that Gosling does, but he dropped out and chose instead to do J.Edgar/Gatsby

Infact when he was going to do the movie, Clooney was only attached as director, but, I noticed once Leo dropped out, Clooney took a part. It could be the studio wanted to make sure at least one well known actor to all audiences was involved; one who has opened films. And even though , Leo passed on the role, he kept his Appian production credit.

Personally from reading the script, I'm glad Leo passed on it.

I think "Ides' might,also, be the film we finally see J Edgar trailer with as both are aimed at adult audiences.

You guys remember a couple months ago when Ides of March was filming at some University and there were several tweets saying how Leo was there with Ryan and George? Whenever, I hear that movie I think about that time when we were confused if Leo was there or not because leo was supposed to be filming Hoover

Anyways, i'm sure someone saw his name connected to the movie because he is a producer and assumed he was there lol.

One Leo /Ides connection we do know is that the "X" hat that Leo had on in recent pix is from Xavier University in Ohio where they did film

I don't normally care about some random person on twitter's opinion but the following tweet really irritated me... even more since we were just discussing Gosling. Yeah Gosling is getting alot of attention but do you guys really think studios and top directors/ talent are going to Gosling first instead of Leo. Save for the fact if age is a major factor in the casting.

I don't think Gosling right now has surpassed Leo.

As to the tweet, it isn't the first time an envious guy has made a snide comment about Leo.

Personally to me the recent Gosling chatter reminds me of the James Franco chatter this time last year.

And, no, I don't think in the minds of any of the real power in the industry either has surpassed Leo. The entertainment media might like to present

themselves as having power, but when it comes to signing the dotted line on the checks that pay for a film and star salary deals they have none.

As besides being a super talented actor, Leo has proven he can open movies something , up to this point, neither Ryan or James have shown the ability to do.

Also, in these tough economic times, Leo can get a big budget movie ( aka Gatsby) financed based on his participation in it, a power that neither Ryan or James have.

To me it is the media that tries to infer there is some type of competition going on between Leo with Ryan or James.

I would imagine with Leo being a producer on "Ides" he has met Ryan and the two actors get along well.

I, personally , don't think Leo sees himself as being in competition with other actors, his only focus is growing as an actor , not settling for status quo.

Consider the source. That's just one of a million tweeters desperately trying to be witty in 140 characters or less and failing miserably, like most do. But since it has been posted, I will challenge that statement. Aged better how? Because he wasn't a particularly attractive young guy? Sorry, I try to refrain from bitchy remarks about looks, but it's the truth. Leo was a gorgeous kid, and he's a gorgeous 36 going on 37 year old man. Gosling younger or older... meh, no comparison. He's a good actor and he seems like a nice guy, and that's more important.
