Hello!!

After seeing these pics I have just one thing to say for you all...it's good to know we have Leonardo DiCaprio in Hollywood...imagine a Hollywood without Leo? It would be like a cloudy sky in summer...ok...I got carried away now.... :nicole:

Tks for everything girls!! :flower:

The news reporter looks hilarious :nicole:

I would think they would keep Leo's hair color consistent throughout, so , I think, it is just the lighting in various pix that make his hair look lighter/darker at times

Thanks Calibi for the review of Gatsby... :flower:

I am very pleased with what I read although I would have liked to hear the same words that she or he say of Joel about Leo. Clear I understand that is just a single opinion and there will be many more who can speak highly of him.

Also may I ask what Fx shot is???

The lyrics from Bob Dylan's Titanic song ; I wasn' sure if he would use the name Jack or Leo in the song , but , as you can see below he goes with Leo

’Twas the fourteenth day of April

Over the waves she rode

Sailing into tomorrow

To a golden age foretold

And then Dylan injects an intriguing sense of mystery and foreboding fatalism into the third verse:

The night was bright with starlight

The seas were sharp and clear

Moving through the shadows

The promised hour was near

“Promised hour”? Who might have promised such an hour, and why?

Soon, he introduces the character of the ship’s watchman, who will reappear three more times before the song’s end. Dylan subtly, even wittily, alludes to him being asleep on the job.

The watchman he lay dreaming

As the ballroom dancers twirled

He dreamed the Titanic was sinking

Into the underworld

Then life imitates art with the allusion to the invented element from Cameron's film:

Leo took his sketchbook

He was often so inclined

He closed his eyes and painted

The scenery in his mind

As with nearly every subject Dylan addresses, this one occupies more than one level of meaning. Tragic as the loss of life on Titanic was, the tale resonates so deeply because of the more complex issues it touches in terms of human hubris, as well as the analogies to the ship of state inherent in any story of a seagoing vessel.

He heard a loud commotion

Something sounded wrong

His inner spirit was saying

That he couldn’t stand here long

The reference to an “inner spirit” implies an outer spirit and in this context suggests an inner transformation under way. And sure enough, Dylan sees an earthly disaster in spiritual terms, and ominously spiritual at that:

The ship was going under

The universe had opened wide

The roll was called up yonder

The angels turned aside

He makes no mention of an iceberg, or lifeboats, but conjures the scene better than on-site hi-def cameras with his words:

Passengers were flying

Backward forward, far and fast

They mumbled, fumbled, tumbled

Each one more weary than the last

Along the way he notes acts of cowardice and bravery, horror and heart-rending sacrifice as the ship lists in the frigid waters of the North Atlantic:

Mothers and their daughters

Descending down the stairs

Jumped into the icy waters

Love and pity sent their prayers…

Jim Dandy smiled

He never learned to swim

Saw the little crippled child

And gave his seat to him

He captures what surely must have been the Titanic captain’s sense of overwhelming helplessness as he realized what was happening:

The captain, barely breathing

Kneeling at the wheel

Above him and beneath him

Fifty thousand tons of steel

Like his biggest songwriting mentor, Woody Guthrie, Dylan excavates broader truths out of what in others’ hands are mere facts about those who perished, those who survived and those who watched from a distance:

When the Reaper’s task had ended

Sixteen hundred had gone to rest

The good, the bad, the rich, the poor

The loveliest and the best

They waited at the landing

And they tried to understand

But there is no understanding

On the judgment of God’s hand

The girl may just think she got a hold of Leo's real email :p

I can't imagine they would leave any papers around the set for others to see that had the various actors personal emails on them.

FX are the special effects 3D effects .

If you recall awhile back someone posted an article that said that the delay was due to Baz needing more time to finish 3D/FX aspects of film.

It Just Gets Better

OH, MY GOD.

So I caught my 5:12 am bus yesterday morning out to Closter, New Jersey like a good girl, and got my hair teased and sprayed and my eyebrows made deeply surprised, and went off to breakfast and the set. And we filmed. (Well, you know...it's what we were there for.)

What a day. First of all, I got into a scene (a tiny, baby, itsy bitsy scene consisting of about six words) with Leonardo DiCaprio. Now while actors do speak on camera, very often the actual lines are dubbed in later, when nobody's worrying about staying within their key light and stuff like that, so that while people do say the lines, there's room for improv, as long as the time is correct...and in case you care, DiCaprio is a real potty mouth. So he does what he's supposed to do, which ends him up coming over to my desk on the set, and at one point, to express his jubilation (he has just made a large stock sale), out of nowhere, he gave me a big kiss on the cheek. Imagine my surprise...I think my jaw must have been down to the ground.

After they picked me up off the floor, it was decided that he should introduce himself to me, which he did (nice firm handshake that boy has)...which exchange ended me up having two lines, to wit: I'm Wendy (what can I tell you...they're not good at names around there), and, You got it!

This, my children, is what is known in the business as a "five and under," meaning a scripted exchange that is five words or less. BUT, according to the rules of my glorious union, it takes you out of the background designation and into the contracted principal desgnation. Which takes you into...big drum roll here, please...the designation of people who make $842 dollars a day. Yeah. $842.00. A friggin' day.

So, let's add up the numbers: $300 for Friday's shoot, $145.00 for the Monday holiday, and because the upgrade wasn't given until the afternoon, another $145.00 for Tuesday morning, and $842.00 for the rest of the day. This makes it roughly $1400 for two days work (turned out they didn't need me for today).

Now, this is only an upgrade for one shoot, so let's not get carried away here. Next time I shoot something I'm sure I'll go right back to plain old background status...and indeed, I'll be occupying my usual desk at the law firm tomorrow. And the kiss was an unscripted improv which won't end up on camera.

But sheesh...I had Martin Scorsese grinning at me and giving me a thumbs up, and I was goofing around with Spike Jonez (we kept yawning and accusing each other of causing it...you know how contagious yawns are)...oh, and did I mention that LEONARDO DICAPRIO KISSED ME?

Love, Wendy (you know, the one who got kissed by Leonardo DiCaprio)

Tks for pix, could be either from BOL or Leo getting fitted for a suit prior to filming Gatsby :)

As I notice she ,also, has pix of Leo in his Max Greenfield suit as Gatsby, and one of Jonah Hill in a Max Greenfield suit.

The woman who first tweeted about upcoming Gatsby screening asked the guy below what he thought of it

Tyler Scruggs

It was not finished, major CGI work to be done, but it is still visually the best film I saw this year. Some will be put off though.

I guess I've *seen this year, but I doubt anything will top it. So so so so stunning. I was overwhelmed but in the best way possible

It will be fine in the summer. But its still award-worthy
