It's not just that. McFarlane knows how to write. Kurtzman and his goons don't know shit about writing. They're not only inconsistent with Trek tropes, but they're also inconsistent with themselves.... I hope McFarlane obtains the rights of Star Trek. I hope Kurtzman, Bad reboot (or Rian, Kathleen Kennedy and all the other vandals that trashed our favorite franchises) will go broke and stop peeing on everything we like.

It's good to see that there are a couple of good things left in Sci-fi. Most of the genre has been plagued by douchebags recently. Our genre, that we've liked for years/decades has been taken over by talentless zealots who know nothing about it and just want to force-feed their political cult... Anyway, there are good guys left and that they are rewarded for their good work.

This show is great. Its style is very original: it's a subtle mix of goofy humor, serious subjects (treated unseriously), good characters and storyline. It's interesting because the humor (as goofy or crazy as it gets) never affects the story (unlike shit movies like Rian's TLJ, where his pointless humor kills the tension multiple times). I just watched S01 E04 and it's the allegory of the cave, treated with a mixture of goofy humor, Sci-fi, light hearted story, etc. Unlike douches who think they're hot shit (Rian Johnson, Kurtzman, etc.), McFarlane plays it modestly, but he plays it good. I love this show. I have to thank @Stromboli1 once again for advising me to watch it. I would love to see McFarlane getting the rights to make a real Star Trek show (and I'd love to see Adrianne Palicki being in it!)

The show is meh (and epsiode 3 is crap - it's not as rotten as Discovery, but it's not really good).... nevertheless, the soundtrack is AWESOME. Jeff Russo is great. Discovery's soundtrack was good too (but the show was very bad)

ST Disovery is bad for many reasons, mostly because of lazy writing (not to mention the "usual" modern problem...) They disrespect the legacy, but that's nothing compared to ST Picard where they completely denatured one of the best characters in ST (especially in ep. 3). The disrespect is not as huge as what other vandals did to other franchises (like destroying Luke in TLJ ), but sill (and isn't it... like... ageism ?) However, I have to admit that the soundtrack in both Discovery and Picard are awesome. Jeff Russo is a genius.
