You're kidding about Makelele, right? I thought he was terrible all night. Chelsea were in dire need of inspiration and that meant Drogba was left with far too much to do. Try and win the first ball? Check. Run on and get in a good position? Okay. Pass the ball to someone who might score? Uh...sure...you mean me? People can rightly criticise Ballack for a disappointing season but he's a proven goal scorer in big matches, hell he's even done it for Chelsea a few times, and he'd have probably been more of a threat than what was on offer tonight. And he's German so he'd have buried the penalty. On a more chirpy note, it was a really interesting game. I thought when Kuyt had his goal disallowed (discuss) that it might not be their night. What else? Oh yeah, Agger's goal was impressive. Very slick.

Mayweather vs. De La Hoya - finally a fight I care about.

Why do the Yankees suck so much? Not that I'm complaining.

Kandi. From Two and a Half Men. Y'know, the TV show.

All Liverpool supporters I know cannot figure this one out, and neither can I, but what the hell was Zenden doing playing in a game of such importance? I couldn't believe that he played the whole game. The whole first half, the strategy seemed to be work the ball to him and he'll try and cross the ball in. The only problems were that he barely ever beat the man in front of him and when he did cross the ball, it usually went straight to a Chelsea defender.

This thread was inspired by a late night surge of the current season (yes, my life is that wild!). Must have watched six back-to-back, wall-to-wall. I think I've seen up to episode 18, the one where Kandi gets a role on that TV show. Did I mention April Bowlby is hot?

It's only the Nationals, they hardly count.

Which was pretty big. That was really two mistakes. He mishandled that shot from distance in the first half, as well. The Fletcher save was decent, like I said but I don't know, I don't think he's a good a keeper as you would hope to have in the semi-finals of the Champions League. At least, not anymore. EVDS had a so-so game as well but then Heinze and Evra seem to make things a lot more difficult for him than they should have been.

I've seen the goal a few times and I respectfully disagree. I mean, okay, let's not kid ourselves...it's still a helluva strike and with better positioning, he could have still been beaten. He had a poor game, generally, I felt.

Why do I love this show? I have no idea. Maybe it's Charlie Sheen, maybe it's Jon Cryer...maybe it's the theme tume. Maybe it's April Bowlby. Yes, that must be it. No, truthfully it makes me laugh like a child. Silly, silly humour. Anyway, I'm almost certain that no one here likes the show (otherwise it'd probably have a thread already) but I thought I'd amuse myself by posting my own love for it here anyway.

I think you're being a bit harsh on Dida. Both him and Nesta were surprised by how early Rooney took that shot. He didn't look alert in the last minute of the game. His positioning was poor and he was punished. He made a decent save from Fletcher but otherwise he gave a pretty sloppy performance.
-
Great game. Too bad Dida couldn't be bothered to cover his near post. Still, two away goals...no formality, this one.

I did lose the VSFS of '05 and '06, yeah. I guess I'll just have to force myself to download them again. Natasha Poly dressed as an air hostess...there are worse things.

Essien has played three positions this season, scored the occasional humdinger, kept Chelsea ticking along. If not for his quality, then just for his influence he should be in that team. I guess this just further showcases that footballers don't have a lot going on upstairs.

I've always liked Takashi Saito. But its all about Papelbon.

Despite an interesting start to the F1 season, it seems no one's too interested in motorsports here. Which is regrettable.

Just watched Tottenham-Arsenal, possibly the most self-important game in all of Europe. I dislike Arsenal but when they play Spurs, I find enough strength inside to want them to win. Spurs are horrible. So of course they equalised right at the end.
