Two and a Half Men
Kandi. From Two and a Half Men. Y'know, the TV show.

All Liverpool supporters I know cannot figure this one out, and neither can I, but what the hell was Zenden doing playing in a game of such importance? I couldn't believe that he played the whole game. The whole first half, the strategy seemed to be work the ball to him and he'll try and cross the ball in. The only problems were that he barely ever beat the man in front of him and when he did cross the ball, it usually went straight to a Chelsea defender.

Two and a Half Men
This thread was inspired by a late night surge of the current season (yes, my life is that wild!). Must have watched six back-to-back, wall-to-wall. I think I've seen up to episode 18, the one where Kandi gets a role on that TV show. Did I mention April Bowlby is hot?

Which was pretty big. That was really two mistakes. He mishandled that shot from distance in the first half, as well. The Fletcher save was decent, like I said but I don't know, I don't think he's a good a keeper as you would hope to have in the semi-finals of the Champions League. At least, not anymore. EVDS had a so-so game as well but then Heinze and Evra seem to make things a lot more difficult for him than they should have been.

I've seen the goal a few times and I respectfully disagree. I mean, okay, let's not kid ourselves...it's still a helluva strike and with better positioning, he could have still been beaten. He had a poor game, generally, I felt.

Why do I love this show? I have no idea. Maybe it's Charlie Sheen, maybe it's Jon Cryer...maybe it's the theme tume. Maybe it's April Bowlby. Yes, that must be it. No, truthfully it makes me laugh like a child. Silly, silly humour. Anyway, I'm almost certain that no one here likes the show (otherwise it'd probably have a thread already) but I thought I'd amuse myself by posting my own love for it here anyway.- Football
I think you're being a bit harsh on Dida. Both him and Nesta were surprised by how early Rooney took that shot. He didn't look alert in the last minute of the game. His positioning was poor and he was punished. He made a decent save from Fletcher but otherwise he gave a pretty sloppy performance.- Football

I did lose the VSFS of '05 and '06, yeah. I guess I'll just have to force myself to download them again. Natasha Poly dressed as an air hostess...there are worse things.- Football
Essien has played three positions this season, scored the occasional humdinger, kept Chelsea ticking along. If not for his quality, then just for his influence he should be in that team. I guess this just further showcases that footballers don't have a lot going on upstairs.- MLB

Despite an interesting start to the F1 season, it seems no one's too interested in motorsports here. Which is regrettable.- Football
Just watched Tottenham-Arsenal, possibly the most self-important game in all of Europe. I dislike Arsenal but when they play Spurs, I find enough strength inside to want them to win. Spurs are horrible. So of course they equalised right at the end.- MLB

Flare article Before Arcand or Cannes clamoured for her, Kruger was a catwalk star, modeling for top design houses such as Yves Saint Laurent, Dior and Armani. But despite landing multiple magazine covers such as Harper's Bazaar and Vogue (as well as FLARE in 2000), she discovered that becoming a top model wasn't a fulfilling full-time job: "You're getting all dolled up and just holding crazy poses for hours at a time. It takes forever [and] it's just boring." Today, her focus is on acting, although she cherry-picks modeling jobs for select fashion-related campaigns. For example, she is now the face - and muse - of Chanel's Paris-Biarritz handbag collection, a collaboration she was happy to participate in due to a famous longstanding friendship. "I met Karl [Lagerfeld] when I was around 17 years old," she says of the legendary Chanel designer. "When I had my first big première for Troy at the Cannes Film Festival, he designed an haute couture dress for me. I actually still have the drawing, which says, For my beautiful Helen, your friend Karl. His designs are stunning and I wear them all the time." In fact, the two German expats are neighbours in Paris and their street served as the backdrop for the Paris-Biarritz bag campaign. Kruger says she "walked down one morning and we started shooting and it was done in two hours." These days, Kruger, whom In Style called one of 2006's "most spectacularly clad women," is more likely dressing for the red carpet than a photo shoot. "Finding the right dress is madness in Hollywood," she says. "As a model, you never really do red carpet. It's very different to dress for events than it is to dress to be fashionable. Some dresses just don't work for photographic purposes. I learned that the hard way." The strong-willed Kruger pushes the envelope with her choice of film roles, too, balancing her work in Hollywood blockbusters with smaller independent and foreign films. "It's a personal reward that you get out of [smaller films]. Maybe fewer people will go see this movie, but this way I can push my boundaries and push myself as an actor to new limits," she says. Her ever-expanding résumé has certainly been bolstered by her enviable ability to act in no less than three differ-ent languages: English, French and German. In her most recent French foray, she collaborates with Arcand in a poignant black comedy. "I'm a huge fan of Denys Arcand. He's very well known and very respected in France. I've seen all of his movies, so when he called to ask if I wanted to come meet him and speak about a project, I didn't have the script, but I immediately said yes." In the film, Kruger plays an imagined movie star who appears in the fantasies of a hapless Quebec bureaucrat. "I show up in his living room, in the suburbs, dressed in evening gowns all of the time. It's really funny."- Diane Kruger

Yours truly's laptop came into grips with a most deadly virus last Sunday. Despite extensive efforts to save the poor thing, and paying well over the odds, this week has resulted in lots and lots of frustration and misfortune. Turns out, the whole hard drive has been wiped. Okay, that's the just the short version but that's the gist of it. I really don't remember many of the technical details but the virus split into two and hammered away at everything, making it impossible for the nerds I was paying to access most of my stuff. Then, things got progressively worse and next thing you know, my laptop's empty. Yes, most of my "important" stuff is backed up and thank God, too. But the fun stuff, the sentimental little things...gone. I'm really sad. Yeah. - Two and a Half Men
