Just found out that the SI swim event in Miami this weekend is not during Miami swim week so I don’t believe there is a swimsuit fashion runway show this year meaning no Christen videos unless they do their own thing

So they use her image to promote their event in Miami this coming weekend and send her to the Mets game to promote the issue with 2 other cover models (Nader, kostek) but won’t give her a cover of her own. Kinda getting irritated now… IMG_0343.mp4

not sure about UHQ but this year's versions are noticeably lower quality than in the past for some reason considering they are so desperate for money they put megan fox and martha stewart on covers after kim kardashian and ciara a year earlier, my guess is they got smart and realized people would share all the HQ images on the internet and thus people weren't buying the physical copy of the magazine so they decided to hold back on the quality available on the web site so more people will buy the issue

agree she’s amazing and deserved a cover for sure to not make her one of the 4 in favor of another celebrity who doesn’t need a cover or a criminal grandma like Martha Stewart is just so pathetic. Stick to the models, the women who work to get to that point in their careers and reward them.

SI swim is using a photo of Christen to promote their annual event in Miami. Hoping this is a hint that she’s going to be on the cover.

there was never really any doubt, as a rookie of the year i believe she was guaranteed to return, now i just hope they giver her the cover

ok to be clear i did not mean to ever imply she signed a VS contract out of the goodness of her heart all I am saying is that unless she has specifically said otherwise, she always struck me as being happy/content with her career choices and lifestyle whereas the original post that started this entire convo implied her career went terribly wrong from my perspective, being a big fan but not the most knowledgeable on everything candice, she just struck me as someone who was happy being with them, working less than others did, while enjoying her privacy and life with her boyfriend/husband (what happened leading to their divorce is irrelevant to this convo) and her children almost like she was always good being a loving wife/mother first, loving her privacy second, and on the side doing modeling for a major company she made the choice not to get into TV/movies or be very active on social media and I've always felt that is exactly how she wanted it to be. She just never, at any point, struck me as the kind to overly promote herself and show too much of her and her man, her letting loose, her fun personality, etc.

fair enough, thanks for the reply with that all being said, maybe she wanted to do exactly what she did and is happy with her career and her life? unless, of course, she has stated the opposite and I missed that Candice never struck me as the type to chase down immense fame and fortune.

ok cool guesses (no sarcasm, i appreciate the effort to explain, my comments/opinions: 1) VS was a HUGE company with an elite roster of models, I can't speak on whether it ate up "too much" of her time but I'd think being in their monthly catalogs and walking in their show while they were among the most popular companies was a good thing 2) I don't think it's a bad thing to stay off the gossip columns, and she had every right to be in long-term relationship with a guy she loved at the time. We saw how she got destroyed for the rumored relationship with Kanye. I, Personally, think it's good to not be sleeping around with bad guys. 3) This is a big one, no TV or film. 100% can understand this. I think it would have been cool to follow the career path of Heidi Klum. 4) Maybe 5) Personal choice, but don't think it meant her career "went so wrong" and she's entitled to privacy of course. Sometimes I think social media is very bad.

for those of us who are fans of hers, have been for years, but maybe don't know all details of her career as much as others like you... can you explain "what went wrong with her career"? cause to me, she's one of the most famous models in history, or at least of the last 2 decades or so who has been with several major companies so what is it that went so wrong?

when you are famous, in public spotlight, on billboards and in magazines, people looking at you comes with the territory staring/looking at someone never caused harm to a single person now, if people were saying things to her or touching her in unwanted ways without permission that would be a entirely different story

You speculated as to why. I simply followed suit. if wearing a mask was done so she could avoid being seen then I’d think she would want to wear it far more often, no?

She was in Hawaii last weekend shooting content for her best friend Elizabeth Turner's bikini/swimwear line. meanwhile, SI Swimsuit has started doing their 2023 photoshoots. I sure hope Christen is back with them this year (and lands the cover) EDIT: As a Rookie of the Year last year she is 100% guaranteed to return (I am an idiot for not knowing/realizing this before)
