  1. Hey Anastasia Ashley is there afterall... and the ratio of front to back pics they took of her is very confusing.
  2. SI has improved its ass situation greatly.
  3. Thanks so much for the scans!! Never thought I'd say this but I'm kinda disappointed in Emily Rata's pics Why is she so orange/bronze? Some of the shots really aren't flattering to her face at all. ...however, those body painting pics.... holy shittttttttttt
  4. eh, a kinda qualified win. to be fair, "we" guessed probably around 100 models. i don't remember any mention of chanel iman before a few days ago (other than a post from yours truly wondering if cris urena was going to be the only non-white rookie; chanel was one of the models i suggested). speculating about a multi-girl cover or kate cover is not difficult. even with a multi-girl cover, i don't think anyone anticipated nina plus someone else. certainly no one other than the NY daily news expected chrissy on the cover. i mean, no doubt the detective work here is impressive, but let's also not pretend "we" were batting a thousand I think ModelKnowledge guessed Teigen... and I remember thinking ModelKnowledge was an insane person as a result.
  5. That would make more sense and be less "gotcha!" which seems kinda shitty. Either way, looking better than last year, excited to see the rest!
  6. SI's broadening the rookie class is like the Academy expanding the Best Picture nomination pool... novel and interesting in theory, kinda annoying in practice.

Please... please no more Dior contracts. They put her in the worst stuff sometimes, even though their other girls look crazy-good! I want to see Jennifer Lawrence unleashed at the Oscars one year, not all fashion-imprisoned by yet another Dior contract. Jen is and was and will probably always be amazing, though.

Glad to see she's finally sweeping that fringe to the side... But either way she is incredibly gorgeous to me.
  9. Okay look that is a million times better than either of the Kate covers before, and multiple covers would be pretty rad especially for the 50th... and I'm not the biggest fan of the first cover (or the girls on it, for that matter), but that twitter pic makes it look like a pretty big fake-out which seems unnecessarily cruel now that we've seen models crying with joy and shock.
  10. From the right angles, yes.
  11. Would be pretty awesome if they had a bunch of covers... depending on the rest of the girls they put on them.
  12. Warning: do not read the comments on the US Weekly poll unless you want to experience an overwhelming urge to stab your own eyeballs and set them on fire. So many complaints about it being porn, objectifying, might as well be Penthouse, etc. Then again, they're US Weekly readers... not sure what else I expected other than rampant, faith-in-humanity-destroying idiocy.
  13. That story about Josie is mental, Pretty. She's such an incredible chick and what an amazing opportunity for everybody involved. Same @ Josie getting me into models/SI. I never cared about any before her. Her stuff at Sephora is bomb, too. Too bad it's so hard to get in Australia. And I still remember reading some interview with her where she talked about Dancing With the Stars and how physically demanding it was and how much she disliked it, lol. Only made me like her more. We all knew she was too cool for DWtS anyway.
  14. You're right, but since she's the most deserving of any SI model imo and my all-time fave, my heart still yearns to see her in that collection of covers. But whatever, I love her now more than ever. I didn't realise they turned her down at first, though. Sometimes I really wonder about the standards of SI...
  15. The fact that Josie Maran was never on a single cover will disturb me until the day I die.
  16. ^Agreed Bella and Emily are a good combo...

She looks great and, wherever she is, it's beautiful too.
  18. They only showed Emily R for .5 seconds... after all the buzz her butt drummed up for them a couple weeks ago, they could have at least sprung for a full second.

I have to admit Gen has been stealing my heart a bit on Twitter/Facebook. She deserves points for even agreeing to answer questions on Facebook, since most of the comments on SI's facebook page are even worse than Youtube comments. She also always seems so nice to all the other girls and sounds like she's had a tough go pre-SI. It makes me want to know more... does she watch Mad Men? What's her favourite breakfast food? What kind of movies does she watch? Does she like gelato? Does she want to go to the beach with me this weekend? Does anyone ever tell her that she looks a little bit like Jewel? I wanna know.
  20. What a tease. Gemma Ward? Haylie Duff?
  21. Aw, Genevieve always seems so sweet on social media and I've never seen a model be so responsive on FB/twitter/etc.
  22. None of the other rookies got a cover, either And is it just me or does Lily Aldridge always look chronically bored? edit: just noticed the ombre hair thing. lololol. Not that I'm complaining but is SwimDaily marketed specifically toward women or something?? They are definitely NOT writing for dudes...
  23. I agree Ireland is better than a Kardashian and I'm sure she puts in the work. I don't believe she's going to develop breasts like Kate Upton because Ireland is already pretty filled out and still has a small bust. She's also already 19, isn't she? Kate was already on the cover of SI by that point and very much busty. I also don't think Ireland's face is nearly as pretty. However, I agree about Kate being called "curvy," because of the wide waist/narrow hips thing (which sucks for me cause the hip/waist combo is one of my fave features of a woman's body)... although I think that's part of what fuels her popularity; some people don't like her body and can't verbalise what's "wrong" with it, so they just call her fat. Then others are horrified by the "fat" name calling and go on tirades about anorexic models and how Kate represents real women with curves or whatever. I'm not saying that's her only draw (obviously), but without some of those polarizing characteristics, she wouldn't be nearly as controversial which means people wouldn't be talking about her quite as much. So in a way her "flaws" have only helped her get where she is right now. But of course that doesn't stop most mags from photoshopping an hourglass figure onto her anyway... I'm sure Ireland will face a lot of criticism about not deserving whatever jobs she gets, so that'll create some controversy and get people talking. In that sense, I can see how they're somewhat similar. Also, that comment by VampireHorde just made me go from apathetic about the last rookie to INCREDIBLY EXCITED! Is it Ashley Sky? Is it someone with fake boobs? Either way, it'll be juiiiicccccyyyy!
  24. no there is a difference between her and the Kardashian's. she is a legacy fashion model. a lot of agencies sign daughter's of former models even sister hoping to strike gold twice. i am not crazy about her but she is like a baby Kate Upton which means there are plenty of people who will like her. She has her work cut out for her. She's going to have to work really hard to make people believe she isn't some entitled celebutante. Look at Amber Lebon or Tali Lennox, they took the high road and work hard. There are certain models like the Geldof girls, the Hiltons, etc, who aren't real models. They are just party girls who get press and get campaigns. They don't go on go-sees. Hopefully for Ireland's sake she can prove that she's more than some celebrities' kid. The fact she doesn't have the stereotypical model's body is going to make it hard but she does have IMG behind her. Wherever she goes, the agencies will always treat her better because of who she is. Hopefully, she won't take advantage of that and be like Paris Hilton. Remember she started out as a model. I obviously don't know 1/10th as much about modelling as you do, but to me "legacy model" sounds like a nice term for "entitled celebutante." I especially believe this because I don't like Ireland's look, not even a bit, and don't believe she would be booking anything more than random hair shows in the south if she weren't born to famous parents. I like quite a few current girls who were born to famous parents, but I like them because I think they have what it takes to have made it without their celeb status... not so with Ireland. If she gets into modelling and is successful, good for her, but I don't think she's right for SI at all.
