Yeah, I also feel they want to give her a good amount of variety in terms of jobs. Some HF here (Vogue IT) some commercial there (Macys, Men's Health): it definitely looks good on the resume which will slowly build the road for VS (who we all know is pretty HF oriented). In terms of branding, she could go for the long haul like Elle Macpherson or Heidi Klum.

Calzedonia is predominantly European marketed, just like Etam (French brand who also does some sort of lingerie show during Fashion Week). VS only sells the beauty section (and some panties) in Europe (also you will only find them in airports). SI is also mostly sold in airports and probably some specialty shops, so they're not as big in Europe as they are in the US. Sure they get a lot of buzz for the swim issue but that's pretty much it.

See, my problem with SI is that it could be a hit or miss in terms of exposure and longevity. Like Clauds mentioned before and I quote, "SI creates one star every decade and the rest of the girls don't really have long/successful careers. " Sure Kate Upton is a big star now, but do you see her modelling in 10 years? I certainly hope she will, but I'm also being realistic.

While I would LOVE to see Alexandria in SI, I'm afraid she would be seen simply as a baby Kate Upton or a replacement, which would be a shame since she has such a charming personality.

I agree with Clauds. I don't think VS is going to waste money on a girl that only does events and the show. Karlie may have an impressive HF resume, but she's not popular with VS and their customers.

Dan Stevens in The Guest and A Walk Among the Tombstones “After Downton Abbey, I wanted to master an American accent. I had a friend record the Gettysburg Address, and, for some reason, that speech has all the sounds that you need. It also means that I’ve now memorized the Gettysburg Address, which is good, too.”

SISE or VS models
I think the main thing with VS is that they are in the business of selling bras and panties therefore they are a female-oriented business whereas SI, while becoming more aware women are also buying the magazine, is mostly for the fellas. SI is very much about the female body and how it is presented (both face and body count) whereas VS is just presenting lingerie and swimwear therefore they don't care how facially attractive or skinny their models are as long as they're good at their job. As mentioned before, VS is strongly linked to the fashion community. They like to find a girl with a nice HF background which they can mould for a little while and when she becomes big they can take credit later: We made her a star and bla bla bla. As for the models, I think most models would rather have a nice yearlong relationship with VS (more photoshoots ergo more visibility) as opposed to one photoshoot with SI. As for my preference, I love both SI and VS models. I think both brands have introduced great and unique talents over the years and I hope I'll see even more.

I think it's worth mentioning that her agency, Women/360, seems pretty picky about the jobs their models get. Alexandria and Irina Sharipova have the same agent and I remember shortly after being signed in 2012, Irina was in Vogue Italia and then started some commercial work for VS and Express, just like Alexandria is doing Macys. Then Irina started doing fashion week walking for mostly the big names: Ralph lauren, oscar de la renta, chanel, etc. Now she opened Dolce & Gabbana (also in their ad campaign) and was in VS fashion show this year. I think it's smart on the agency's part to give Alexandria a bit of time for her to hone her modelling skills while still making big bucks.

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2014 (GENERAL DISCUSSION)
I think we're forgetting the girls were jet-lagged and probably tired from the constant press they're doing. Also everyone knows that the VS show is like the Superbowl for models: they train like crazy before the show (look at Adriana) so they can give a good impression and let's face it, it's their job. It's not like in the early 2000s when the whole natural glamazon trend reigned and VS wasn't so influential in a model's career like it is now. I'm pretty sure this guy would have complained the girls would be unapproachable if he met the girls from the early 2000s shows.
