Beethoven or Mozart?
no offence but there are lots of cooler things in my view. i like some classical music but i am definitely not a fanatic. 40 elgar cds . . . impressive. i still don't think that elgar is the best composer though. i like him partly 'cos of the whole Last Night of the Proms thing and 'cos he has some good ones but there are probably lots of more accomplished and more talented composers. obviously this whole field is very subjective.

Beethoven or Mozart?
Of course, "corny bits" is a bad phrase to describe classical music which has survived the test of time. "Corny bits" don't do that. Some day you may have more money and you can become a classical buff. Btw, can't you borrow CDs form a library? Can't you listen to classical FM? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> classic FM is supposedly like cheesy classics. i.e. what i used to listen to. dunno if i could borrow any but to be honest i have no particular desire to borrow them even if they are there. no offence but when i have more money i am gonna spend it on cooler stuff. i see no point in spending my future earnings on classical CDs.

fair point. i don't know about sites like kazaa or whatever but judging by the size of my friend's classical music collection and the easy availability of MyTunes (not iTunes) it would be quite simple to illegally copy loads of his music. i shall refrain from doing such a thing though . . .- Neighbours
. . . did it have the really corny yet dramatic music'? great program. love it. . . . since we're 6 weeks behind in the UK, i might actually be at home by the time this episode so i might be able to watch it. yay!!- Neighbours
Stuart must be the only policeman in Erinsborough (other than the one who did the self-defence training and previously liked Lil)! he does everything . . . who was on the plane then and why? sounds dramatic- Beethoven or Mozart?
You need to find new things in classical music. Look beyond the standard repertuare. I suppose you have not heard of Clerambault, Bruhns, Taneyev, Weiss or Vanhal? There is so much to explore! Are you familiar with the outstanding chamber music by Faure? Have you heard all the 9 Bachianas Brasileiras by Villa-Lobos? Familiar with the cantatas/organ music by Buxtehude? How about the concertos by Hofmann? There is so much! I tend to cycle too. I also have a very eclectic taste. What's your favorite Elgar piece? Mine is his oratorio "The Apostles", Op. 49. The greatest music ever written! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> no offence but i can't really be bothered to go and buy or else illegally download those pieces. i have a very limited selection of classical music and i don't have the money or will to expand it. i take your point that there is lots but i don't have much money and would therefore like to know what i am buying and get something that i definitely like. in terms of classical music i am a bit of a heathen so i just like kinda corny bits and bobs like 'chanson de matin' by Elgar. there are lots of other and probably better composers than him though. it's just that i used to quite like a few of his pieces. anyway, we should probably get back to Beethoven . . .- I Am...

if i had a tv i would probably be wasting far less time on bellazon. i dunno really. i just have lots of work (or so i claim) and i go out with my friends and have a laugh and stuff so i kind of don't miss it THAT much apart from Neighbours. i used to use the updates on the BBC website but i realised that they were an incredibly poor substitute for the program itself.- Beethoven or Mozart?
Where are you drifting? Rock? Metal? Jazz? I didn't know one can drift away from classical music. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> it gets boring and a bit repetitive. i feel that i can chill more with other music and stuff . . . i have become more interested in other music genres with Indie, Rock and Hip Hop being my favourite musical genres. some Jazz stuff is good but i'm not like a fanatic. i have a pretty eclectic taste when it comes to music generally. Heavy Metal isn't really my thing. i am not really drifting in any direction. i just cycle through different genres and right now classical is at the bottom of the pile since it started to annoy me. i was scarred by my dad's incessant playing of some of Rachmaninov's stuff. Heid, i know what you mean about Elgar but he has done some 'classics'. i'm not like a big classical music buff so he does it for me.- Neighbours
<{POST_SNAPBACK}> . . . Toadie end his friendship with Connor . why? was it bikini shop related? actually, is the bikini shop still going strong or has something happened to it? sounds cool atm . . . sounds real dramatic with the bomb and all. why do i have to be 6 weeks behind and why do i have no tv at uni . arrgghhh.- I Am...

YES! Another elgarian on the forum?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> indeed. is good . . . have drifted farther and farther away from classical music though so am basing my liking of his pieces on my opinions two or three years ago.- Beethoven or Mozart?
