Certainly if they want to survive politically they need massive reform and have to do better than 'we are not trump'. The main reason they fail is that they are obsessed with/and use waste of space identity politics 24-7 (feminism, race, and sexual orientation ) as a cover/distraction for the 'sinking ship' that is the US. Most Americans who aren't democrats know it and are sick of it and that's why Trump and the alt right won. This all started with the Obama administration who stepped into these waters and reached fever pitch thereafter. At least Obama there was attention put to helping the middle class and obamacare which are things of more practical nature. I remember in those years real liberals/socialists were very upset that Obama did not turn out to be the messiah the party promised he was and was in fact an establishment creature, that continued massive war crimes/mass murder & drone assassination in the middle east, worked for and funded by wall street, obamacare turned out to be massively corrupt and designed to benefit health care corporations, and overall didn't do enough socialism. But how he was cultivated by the party, and revealed/ came to power all of a sudden from being an unknown senator to the messiah (by provided the psychological antidote of 8 years of Bush II visually and vocally) very quickly was impressive.

MAGA is basically a spin-off of the Republican party now and Trump is fulfilling the Republican party/Project 2025 orders. Trump is probably irreplaceable (he spent his whole life preparing for this role since his mentorship with Roy Cohen and Fred Trump). Adolf Hitler in his lifetime knew that there was no true replacement for himself after his death, the same void occurred after the death of Stalin. The Republican party has been changed by MAGA and will survive long after MAGA and Trump are dead. It is an institution. What MAGA ultimately is, is a platform for conservative elites to further enrich themselves at the expense of the public using extremely aggressive fraud. It is a perversion of Nixon's southern strategy decades later. The 'civil war' is really between two groups of elites, the arrogant, venial establishment vs the conservative sociopaths The people are just useful idiots/cannon fodder.

I think that universities should be public and not for-profit like it is in Europe/Asia and elsewhere. It is absurd that higher education is run like a for-profit maximizing business. I think that's the main problem, the content is secondary.

The US military is an imperial bureaucracy with relatively few combat troops. There is more need for people who can work on computers on a desk and work in service/support jobs than say during the Cold War where we had a real large-scale warfare military. Large scale drone warfare in general, guided artillery, missiles, has basically taken over the battle space, dramatically reducing the value of combat troops and AFVs as lower value. Bad ass guys like 1980s action heroes is easy- just make better propaganda. I don't believe America was defeated in 2 useless wars ( Iraq, Afghanistan) because lack of tough guys but because we were poorly led and trained. Besides our commanders and soldiers being poorly educated for the task we had vast manpower shortages and lack of clear direction & combat morale.

Western supremacy/white supremacy is very outdated as the China easily swamps the US in shipbuilding & drones and arms production volume, and claiming that China is 'lower quality' is very 1990s era. They have advanced to peer opponents of the US for a long time now including producing advanced fighter aircraft. The US is also behind Russia/China in hypersonic missiles. Advanced systems can only provide small tactical victories, which is what America's advanced systems have done or pretended to have done in social media & in politics. It does not have a strategic impact in actually winning peer wars. It didn't work for Germany in WW2 and it hasn't done so for America ever since. I can only think of the atom bombs in WW2 as being decisive. Look at the Vietnam war for example... The idea of an incredibly powerful and technologically advanced US military that can conquer any country is mainly the product of brainwashing, from movies & videogames, NATO, and politicians. Not careful study of military history and military operations. The US has been de-industrializing since the 1980s, and with that goes military power.
